Anyways Why is it you can only understand Golwing with Fat heads sppon? Is it magical or something?

Firstly, it's Bolwig, Big-Head, and a fork. Secondly, this is Sheogorath's My realm; anything can happen!

hmm.. y do u get no responce when destroying someones house ordiments....

and why cant you throw food at people and do damage.. like on dead rising

whats up with the guards always being there in less then 3 seconds after u take something from a shop right infront of the owner??.. do they have camera's.. and watch ur every move..to catch u

and when i drop a expencive item ( say a deadric warhammer) infront of a begger.. walk around and not face im for a few mins.. he hasn't ran off with it.. like a real begger

o.. and about the toilet bit.. this is really simple.. back then people were into eating each others endtrails as bragging rights..so it was ok to poop on the street.. because someone would go eat it.. and be considered a "cool person"... kinda like modern day smoking...disgusting.. but extremely "cool"..humans r horrible beings..

...and unschooled knowledge. People NEVER ate each other's poo. Some people ate each other's entrails, but that's different then poo, and those people were still seen as strange. Infact, back then, if you were caught eating someone's entrials, you were thought to have been possesed by the devil in which case you were most likely killed.

The effects available to a professional alchemist taking hours to create a potion in a lab are far superior to those available to an adventurer making potions in the field.

Special labratory ingredients not found in Cyrodiil? imported perhaps? like my beer...yeees that could be it.
But the same ingredients aren't in Morrowind either !

and why do my healing potions which FAR exceed the best healing potion found....only sell at 52 or so gold

I have a feeling that it's more a matter of catering to their reader-base. Can't say I know anything about that particular site, of course.

However, there are some blatant inaccuracies.

One I noticed in particular:
QUOTE
Oblivion begins, as expected, with a powerful monologue delivered by a King very much disillusioned by his fate. As he flees his own castle through the underground prisons, fate also binds him with our hero.
I think this speaks for itself.

This inspired my next question: what the heck was Uriel doing by trying to escape through the Imperial City Prison?

In order to get to the prison from the Imperial Palace, he had to have gone through Green Emperor Way, the Market District, out of the gate of the danged city and across the bridge, through a contingent of heavily armed Imperial City Watchmen, and into the prison cells.

First of all, you're already out of the city the moment you left Market, you dolt, and you soon find yourself surrounded by thick stone walls and bunch of men willing to lay down their lives in your defense. But let's throw all that away and attempt to sneak out through some hidden passages where you have no one to keep you company except some bloodthirsty assassins!

Edit: I found the answer to my own question here:

K'Sharra prophecy

After finishing the Sheogorath's questline, if you talk to Bhisha he will make a reference to the K'Sharra prophecy from the Sheogorath's Shrine quest in Oblivion. Also if you have not completed the quest and you finish the main questline it will actually be Haskill talking to you instead of Sheogorath and he will talk about how it is weird that you are praying to yourself making for a little entertaining change to what is now your daedric quest.

Why is the Amulet of Kings not called the Amulet of Emporers?

Also, is it just coincidence that Kvatch is the only city whose mages guild didn't specialise in a school of magic. Also, have you noticed that Kvatch is completely different to all the other towns? It has an arena, the castle is laid out differently etc.

WHy does Arnora have 2 amulets? Do i have a bad memory (i did this quest forever ago)? Doesn't she wear one and if u choose not to kill her, she gives u another amulet from a drawer? i remember being confused about something in that quest... hm
Rhydderch Hael
A strange sense of paranoia, I'd have to guess. Apparently she was afraid of being robbed and so locked the real amulet, an heirloom, away while sticking with a decoy in public view.

Honestly, I see no sensible reason behind it except to further illustrate the distrust that grew between her and Jorundr.

Which imposes the question: between the two of them, who do you really think is telling the truth (or the 'more truthful' version)? I'll put it another way: 1) who do you think killed the guard when they robbed the tax shipment? 2) how do you think the Bruma City Guard was able to nab Jorundr— chance or betrayal?

On this vein of discussion, I broach the ultimate whodunit:

Who killed Countess Indarys of Cheydinhal? Your list of suspects, please.

1. hm... I think it was Jorundr... If arnora had been able to kill the guard, then why was that guy (wasnt he a guard from the prison?) able to kill her?
2. I think it must have been betrayal. It was apparent that they hated eachother... idk i just think it sounds better if she betrayed him...

I have a new one, its basically about the same thing... Remember, I did this quest soooooo long ago that I might not remember:

I just looked up pictures on google and it kinda confirmed my memory:
Wasn't Arnora wearing a blue amulet, but the one she gives u from the drawer is red? I found that a little confusing...

It seems to me that I've only seen one other amulet like that one. Doesn't it look like the Amulet of Kings?
If those are the only 2... or 3 i guess, it seems all amulets like that are passed down in families... I like Arnora's blue one more.
ninja_lord666
@ poda05: Doesn't it seem strange that the amulet is named 'Arnora's True Amulet'? There are two amuleta ohmy.gif The blue one is 'Arnora's Amulet'. If you choose Jorundr's way and kill her, you can get both. Take the one from her body, and take the key to unlock the chest to get the second. Jorundr comments on having two amulets if you bring him both.
poda05
I remember that about the "true amulet"... I can't remember their comments on anything about the amulets or anything... I chose not to kill her... not that it made much difference. unsure.gif
I wish more of those amulets looked like that.

New question i guess:

Potions- Is it the bottles that are green and pink or are the potions actually that color...
Oh wait i just realized i have an answer to my own question... I guess its the bottles are that color- hasn't anyone ever found an empty bottle? (i can remember where)

Where does the character get his/her potion bottles? And why do poisons automatically have green bottles and others such as health always have pink bottles?

There is a special hidden latch on the bottom of all mortars that opens into a realm of Oblivion overflowing with potion bottles so that whenever you open this little door, a bottle falls right out into your hand ready for you to use.

There has been discussions on the official forums about that one. Some people say he is somehow family of the Septim's, but I don't think that's true.

Doesn't seem to be an oversight, but something deliberate on Bethesda's part.

The pragmatic reason why Mankar is wearing the amulet is so that your character cannot pickpocket it when he's delivering the sermon at Dagon's Shrine. You can't nab anything a living NPC currently has equipped on himself.

On the other hand, they modeled Mankar's robes so that the amulet will visually show up on his person. You may have noticed with every other robe in the game, any necklace a character wears doesn't show. They could have applied the same quality to Mankar's robe and avoided the debate, but instead it has been modeled so as to give rise to that very matter— you can see, plain as day, the Amulet of Kings around Mankar Camoran's neck, but only because Bethesda wanted you to.

First of all, peasants and the like are commonly carrying around Iron daggers— not exactly top-of-the-shelf.

And this isn't a peaceable utopia we're talking about— there's a very tangible need for a dagger, be it bandits, West Weald bears, or crabs that make aggressive leaping attacks! A dagger, mace or sword would be seen as a neccessity and thus becomes a sizeable burden on your budget. In Tamriel, you can survive without fancy duds, but try saying the same of a basic weapon for self-defense.

Nowadays, you can buy a fancy suit ensemble for a good $500. A fine steel longsword will run you around the neighborhood of $1,000. That's today, in the real world. Tamriel isn't all that odd in this matter.

Yes, but we don't use swords for any real purpose nowadays. They are just used for decoration. If you want self defense, there are things like that stuff that when sprayed in your eyes, hurts badly. I'm guessing that doesn't cost more than $500.

Exactly. Now swords are worth so much because they're not used and are more collecters' items. In Tamriel, swords are one of the main weapons they use. I guess this is an example of how the prices of things in Oblivion aren't as realistic as some people may like. Low quality weapons shouldn't be worth almost as much as extravagant clothing. wink.gif

Swords were never cheap, even in the days when they were being made. Takes a lot of time, effort, and fuel to shape a 3 pound billet of steel into a thin band of steel; and further more time, effort, and fuel to properly harden this thin band of steel so that it'd survive impact when you ram it edgewise into a target.

In history, the two most expensive things a knight would need were his sword and his horse— worth as much as a full year's income from agricultural sales (in order to be gentry, you owned land and sold whatever crops your farmers raised). This gave rise to the whole fuedalism thing: have some obscenely rich dude fund your fighting gear, and you end up serving in his forces as payment.

Spears were the quick-n-cheap way to get a weapon in those days, because wood was so much easier to work with, the steel portion comprising a realtively small portion of the finished item (and never mind you the superior reach!).

And if you want side-by-side comparisons of swords against "Ye Olde Parfum of Death", how much does it cost to get the Entropic Touch spell from Edgar in the Imperial City?

Lucien Lachance's invite into the Brotherhood?

There is a sneaking suspicion that Llathasa's death was done to cement the threats the Dark Brotherhood laid against Count Indarys, but I'd think it more likely that this may have been a case where Llathasa discovered Andel's collusion with the Brotherhood and threatened to reveal the secret to everyone. The Dark Brotherhood then acted against this threat to their security.

That's one theory. My own idea is that the castle mage is having an affair with Count Indarys and she killed the Countess to pave her way to Llathasa's place on the throne.

New question for the kiddies: in the "Blood of the Divines" quest, your primary difficulty in locating a Aedric artifact is that the Divines do not normally manifest themselves in the mortal world. Yet there is one case where this has happened. So, my question is why do we have to go after the Armor of Tiber Septim in Sancre Tor when the Brush of Truepaint is sitting pretty in Rythe Lythandras' house? Much easier than hacking one's way through an army of undead, I'm sure, and Rythe should really do his own work rather than rely on divine magic inherited from his daddy.

How come when you have 100% chameleon/invisibility/sneak/etc, some shopkeepers still follow you around and keep you in sight while others don't?

Maybe they see your shadow, or hear you? Maybe they smell you. Since there are no toilets...

Mmm... That'll be my question. Do you still cast a shadow when you have chameleon or invisibility? What if the chameleon isn't 100%? I don't know because I never play with shadows...
