I need help in finding the masters lockpick (or the secret masters lockpick). I can't finish aengoth the jeweler's job of getting the pillow book because I can't open the chest that it is in. Please help!

no she doesn't have any... anyother ideas?

What lock level is the chest? If you can't find a master's lockpick maybe you could buy a scroll which will unlock the chest?

the lock level is 75. i tried an amulet of opening and a scroll but nothing works. i have also trained my skill till it can't be trained anymore.

wot u mean u've trained it til u cant train it anymore? u mean from a trainer u pay? u can train it urself by making a ring with 1pt lock and then keep casting it on a chest and picking it to increase ur skill. its tedious but it works

Apart from that, have you tried the other thieves guilds to see if you can get master or grandmaster lockpicks there?

I've always found my Ekash's locksplitter scrolls in bandits' caves, but I have the suspicion that they may be levelled items.

I've also got several masters and grandmasters lockpicks in my possession....most of them looted from various caves, tombs, shrines etc since I can't remember buying any. Again, I think they might be levelled items though.

ekash's locksplitter scrolls are definately leveled, below a certain level u'll only get ondusi's unhinger scrolls.

as for lockpicks and probes i think theyre probably leveled too

and what i meant by making a ring with 1 pt lock is to enchant a common ring with a 1 pt lock spell and cast it on something, then pick it to raise ur skill.

Theres a Grandmaster Lockpick and Probe in the Lucky Lockup in Balmora which is by the silt strider. You can either grab them and run like hell or use telekenisis to grab them from the ajacent room. As for the 100 unlocking scrolls try the mages guild in Sadrith mora i think i got some from there once. Hope this helps. :lol:

u could also open up the editor and put a skeleton key or master lockpick right near the chest u need to unlock

Good places to look for masters lockpicks and probes are the Morag Tong HQ's and house hallua people. Other then that smuglers sometimes have masters lockpicks on them.

Also Hericende in Balmora can train your security skill up to 100 provided you have enuff intelligence and money.

also provided u have a sufficient rank in the thieves guild

doing all of sugarlips hasabis quests in balmora will grat you sufficent rank for him to train you, and her quest are very easy.

If you're still looking for master lockpicks, take the silt strider back to Balmora, go to the Hlaalu headquarters up on the high plaza, and barter with the white-haired Dunmer woman who stands in the lobby. They're a little pricey, but she's always got 'em.

to find the secret masters lockpick and probes go to henercides house in balmora. he is the secret master trainer for security. he has the secret masters items for sell for 500 gold. they are unlimited.

Ekash lock splitters are pretty common in this one cave by Pelagiad, its called mannamu or something, go to seyda neen and follow the path to pelagiad, when the trail goes north keep heading north and ull find some water with marshmerrow growing out of it and like 3 mudcrabs. Its a pretty big cave and the guys in there are pretty tough if ur level 7 or below.
