Which feature will your Oblivion character specialise in?

Combat

Magic

Stealth
dunmer_jediknight
well my FIRST caracter will be stealth. I might not visit this site for a while...... if only to not be tempted by all the mods that will be going out for Oblivion.
Switch
Combat, I suppose. He's a bit of a mixture. But his main 3 are combat.

Er, by the way, it looks like OBP has lost the "Speechcraft" skill for some reason.

Are you being silly, Switch? I can see it...
Switch
That's strange, because I can't. ^^; At least not in the Edit Profile area. Observe:

You should have a scrollbar in that list that lets you go down one to speechcraft (since speechcraft is below sneak in alphabetical order!). What browser is that?
Switch
Firefox 1.5.0.1. Also, it defaulted to "Acrobatics", as if the option for Speechcraft isn't even there...

Anyway, this is getting a bit OT isn't it? ^^;
Vaanic~One
Oooh, It's actually a mixture of magic and combat for me! I suppose that magic takes a more auxiliary role though, so it'll have to be combat.
Tubal
I'm going for a pretty pure stealth character, though I'd also like some magic in there somewhere. I might switch security to Alteration and open locks that way (though I'll miss the lockpick minigame then...)
KzinistZerg
Jack-of-all-trades but mainly stealth, with a bit of combat and alchemy included in there.
Umir Shadowblade
I want to make a magic-using assasin... I think that would pwn, but I might go ahead and just make a "normal" character first before I try anything crazy.
elderdude111
magic magic rocks alot of variety and you can easily build a backgroundstory about being taken from your home when you wer young then some wise old wizard finds you takes you home to his tower and trains you to be a powerful mage or something along those lines.

conclusion:magic is cool happy.gif
Povuholo
A battlemage/spellblade. Both magic and combat, so i can enjoy two things at the same time, as well as 2 guilds. (mages guild and fighters guild) And the arena ofcourse.

After that i go for an assasin with bow and blade. Which can join the arena, the dark brotherhood and the thieves guild. Never get bored smile.gif
Theta Orionis
I think I might go for magic - the new system sounds good. This time, however, I'll try to create a character with a decent amount of magicka.

My character revolves around Stealth and Combat, pretty much half-half. I've called him a ranger, but really he's more of a scout, but the scout class skills didn't really seem to relate to the type of person a scout is.

I didn't want Alchemy (since I never use it) so I opted for destruction instead; kind-of wish I'd chosen restoration now, but nevermind.

EDIT: My player profile at Oblivion Players.
Excelsior82
Well, mine is Combat for first, but like others here, he would be more a Battlemage, slayin' with blades and Destruction as well as some bows, wearing heavy armor. happy.gif

I guess however it would be more than a challenge to boost him right.
Baraka
My first Oblivion character, Ravennaa Juelles, is a Khajiity Thief/Mage who uses stealth & magika. Her Mage status is well-known / her interTamrielic jewelthieving is not so well-known = only in certain circles & there revered for the master she is. She does so like the pretty shiney baubles.... blush.gif

Her pet Raven, ph34r.gif StephonHawkeys, is both her magik-find sentinel & her polished accomplice in aquisition of all that is SHINEY.

Where's the option for 'All of the Above?'

I already have a Redguard Corrupter (Warrior/Alchemist) and a pure Assassin going in seperate games. I know I'll want to start a pure magic user soon.

Such a great game to experience in different ways...
bf2guy
I have the hardest, soul tank ever created. Most generic orc in heavy armor carrying a gigantic axe youve ever seen. I tanked the entire mythic dawn base, and left none injured. MUHAHAHA
thanateros
Combination of magic and stealth, somewhat of a monk class, but a bit more rogue, ergo I titled my character an Errant Monk. Basically uses the utility schools of magic, Restoration, Mysticism and Alteration for mass protection/healing. Then Hand to Hand and Sneak for the silent kill, with Blade for parrying and poisoning, finally acrobatics for some all around good times. I guess my minor skills would be Speechcraft, Destruction, Block, and Alchemy.
Mahazael
combat combat!!!
Barbarian Warrior! biggrin.gif
07meyau
mage all the way
alex51011
Well mine's sorta all around. But combat is the highest on my list. Then magic. Then Stealth.
Zhenya
My first character was stelth warrior. He was swordswan, archer. He knew such skills as sneak security destruction lightarmor armorer and some others. He was cool!
chrisdragon425

Well, a lot of people will look at my 3 low level characters and say I suck, but then again I play each one when I'm in the mood for that style of gameplay. I have Necros: lvl. 9 high-elf(modded by me cool.gif ) Mage, Gorax: lvl. 2 Orc(modded, but not by me closedeyes.gif ) Warrior(custom class), and Shadow: lvl. 2 Dark Elf(modded by me for a more stealthy race and powers, it is wicked sweet tongue.gif ) Assassin(custom class).

Oh, and just to let you guys know, a mage excl.gif type character is the easiest to level up, because I was lvl. 4 before I got out of the beggining dungeon. You can just cast a spell over and over until you level up in that skill; I was a journeyman(Skill lvl. over 50) in Conjuration before I even went down into the sewers.

The easiest to survive with would be a sturdy Warrior, because nothing kicks more ass than a Berserking orc angry.gif with a Silver WarAxe rushing you taking your stealthy arrows and Magika, tossing it aside, and imbedding that axe into your soon to be corpse of a body. Whew, thats a big sentence.

And last but not least, the easiest to have success with would be a stealth oriented character ph34r.gif , getting rich off the spoils of his/her thievery.

Alright, I gotta go post in another forum topic, this is only my second one...bye....
DeathmatchTheTitan

Combat, magic, and stealth. happy.gif
m3lisk
Well, I did have Shadow the lvl. 13 Assassin, that could pwn, but I went to load it last night, and didn't realise I was hitting shift... You know what happened. So I decided to make a sneaky Ranger Wood Elf that I modded to my liking. I am going to use Klarre's Ranger armor, along with the Elven Sabres mod.

When I get bored with being a good wildlife oriented ranger, I plan on making a 1337 Nightblade(mage/thief/assassin). That way I can join the DB, and thieves guild and Mages guild. Triple the prizes!
Tinfeasul
Well I like an equal mix of combat, magic and stealth. Each of them has its own useful place in the game. ^.^
Lr5
Stealth with blade and magic.
m3lisk
I CAN't SETTLE sad.gif . I have tried each type, but i can't settle. i keep having doubts...
*m3lisk looks at monitor in despair*
Tiberiu911
My first character in every RPG is combat orientated (I dont know why, its simpler really)

Although by now I have all three, combat, stealth and magic respectevly smile.gif .
Vigilant Warden
I have a couple; but I best talk about them all 'eh? laugh.gif
My Paladin; a female Paladin at that laugh.gif , is pure combat. Her spell book's gotten dusty, and she couldn't sneak for a cookie. <_<; Of course, she doesn't mind batting something over the head with a claymore bigger than her. ^_^

Second, is my once-upon-an-assassin character. I say that because he's not evil anymore. :3 He's Stealth based, and can't take near as many hits as my Paladin, despite being like four levels higher... Crazy stealthies.

Third, is my Samurai-esque character. he prefers combat all the way, though he uses some magic pretty often. Usually the Invisibility, Healing, or Night Eye; then after that it's his Throwing Stars and Katana. biggrin.gif

Lastly is my Dremora. He's like, all three. blink.gif He's pretty good at Stealth, had a ton of spells; and can take hits. Nice hybrid, if you ask me.
Matrimelee
Stealth (my class is Acrobat)

I'm using a Claymore and a Crude Wooden Long Bow as my weapons in the moment and got the Chain Mail Armor! Really nice ... Its my first character in Oblivion! ^^

AnonymousDemon
My elf, Jamie, is a Rogue, unsure.gif not sure but mostly stealth ph34r.gif , he's the guy in my Avatar... and my Dremora, Sirikar, is definitely Mr. Swing-His-Axe-Ask-Questions-Later; Combat. biggrin.gif
floggingmolly22
i usually specialize in combat

but this time i'm going for stealth ph34r.gif *sneaky, sneaky*

nice animation signature thingy

Stealth, sure running in with a sword or warhammer and demolishing everyone is fun. But when it comes down to it sneaking up behind someone and killing them with a single strike our shooting them with an arrow from 200 yards is much more satisfying
Bladespine
Combat in closequarters, simple, easy.
GenghisKhanIT
Melee combat and magic ~50/50. Now training bow and stealth.
xenxander
It’s best to take the category that has the fewest skills as your major skills in it, so you can level up higher.
If you have 5 combat skills as major skills, why choose combat? That will just lower your maximum level by 5.
Nollemaster
Mostly , all three of them
Talldude88
Combat. I like being a warrior and heavy armour. Once I level up a bit I'll use magic to supplement my battle skills.
rabbit0134
i would have to say that my favorite is stealth by far... magic is fun and combat is exilerating but nothing beats the satisfaction of watching the life fall from somone when your posion kicks in biggrin.gif

~RedRabbit wallbash.gif
wasder
It's 70% stealth and 30% combat for me. I never really use magic, I just have many, many enchanted items to make up for it (plus master archery)

So true, Rabbit 0134
