One of the niftiest tricks I have found is the ability to soul trap spells that increase you abilities and attributes.

If you would like to do this, you must go to a spellmaker, and have at least 200 gp. First you make a spell of 100-100 fortify attribute or ability for 2 seconds on yourself. Then you add a second effect of soultrap on target for two seconds. If you cast this, you can raise stats as high as you want, but don't raise too high, or there could be problems with the game running. Do not raise speed above 200 points, or you will have game problems.

I'm not questioning if you can do it or not, but I have the xbox goty version so I'm curious why that works.

Because it's exploiting a bug in the game, something about the soultrap on self effect causes the attribute bonus to become permanent. It's cheating, that's all, no more legitimate than just opening the console and giving yourself 500 in each attribute.

Yep just a cheat for xbox players, this works for summoned armor too.

I'll have to try that once I actually get around to beating the main quest...I wanna try playing through with this character as legit as possible

This isn't related to the cheat you're describing, but I have raised my speed to above 500 using Moon Sugar and Skooma. It's hilarious! Your character practically explodes! It makes me think of that crackhead episode of Chappelle's Show! I ran from Vivec to Red Mountain in only minutes. Try it sometime, it's really freakin' funny.

I agree, I put my speed real high once, and got stuck in a wall because it messed with the game loading speed or something it is pretty funny when you go wicked fast

200pts is nothing on speed

I have 300 (speed maxed with Boots of blinding speed)

you have to worry when you hit over 1000...that is where the problems start since you can run through the walls...then again running through the walls is a good way to steal things without getting a bounty
