Frouth, Ilutivar, Crimson and Lui arrive shaken and disoriented in a huge vaulted stone room. The ceiling is so high above you it is almost invisible. A stern, middle aged Redguard woman wearing a red and gold cleric's robe is waiting for you.
"Welcome unfortunates. You will shortly be allowed to rest but first I must outline briefly why you are here. The Monastery of the Rows takes its name from two rows of standing stones that were incorporated into the grounds when the monastery was first built many centuries ago. Over the years it became very wealthy and its area was constantly being enlarged. The building you are in now is just such an example. It is in fact the refectory of the Abbots palace built for some megalomaniac abbot in times gone by situated outside the walls of the main buildings. The original idea had been for the stones to be dedicated to the nine divines - there were 18 in total. However when people tried to perform any kind of rite or oblation or to make offerings at the stones things always went ill for them. After a time the stones were seen as cursed and they were fenced in. Part of the purpose of the order became to keep people away from the stones. In more recent times commerce has seen more acolytes than religion and the numbers here dwindled. Those who still believe worship locally where they live and more through custom than true belief so they do not come here. Recruits are ever harder to find. When our troubles began there were some twenty five here including myself. The monastery has cells for 300."
She waves you to sit at the long refectory table.
"They began to disappear one by one. At first we had no clue as to what was happening. Then one evening two monks were in the lavatorium together washing our robes. This creature of Oblivion burst into the room and dragged one off . When the other tried to follow he was blinded by a spell of some kind. When the spell wore off he came to me. Of course I had to protect those who lived here. Together we packed everything away and sent them to our sister order in the Imperial City. Sadly they too had plenty of room. By then we were only 16 in number."
She sighs.
"I elected not to go. Partly I felt that someone might find a way to deal with the outrage and also because I did not at my age wish to have to bow my head to some other abbot. I moved my meagre belongings into this grand folly. It has innumerable guest rooms. I will take you to them now."
She leads you up a flight of steps. A long stone corridor lit by flickering torches stretches ahead. There are many doors.
"After you have slept return to me and I will tell you more of the monastery and who you are probably facing. By the sound of it it must be an Ogrim but he has suborned a number of vampires to his cause. I trust you have items of silver with you?
Each cell has a key on the inside but this building is warded against intrusion from outside so you may choose not to use them. Another group will be joining shortly and then we may plan the offensive."
You enter the individual cell rooms (furnished only with stone sleeping plinths) and quickly fall asleep.
When the Abbey party arrives - Tiramir, Darak and Marissa - they are given the same story and soon too are asleep.

THE CURSED MONASTERY UPDATE 1
The group awakens completely refreshed feeling wonderful. The sensation lasts for a matter of seconds. Physically you are still fine but something is troubling your mind. You cannot tell exactly what it is but something is different. It will not take you long to discover that every enchanted item item, potion or scroll that helped you detect enchantment has been taken and those among you who knew any spell to that effect has suddenly forgotten it. Someone has been into your cell. Who? And is stealing the items the only thing they have done?
The obvious answer as to 'who?' is the Abbot Diane but when you go to find her she has been knocked unconscious. She is alive but weak, a healing potion or spell will revive her and perhaps she can tell you something of what happened.
As well as one of you doing this, everyone must perform such natural bodily functions as all creatures do - (in the reredorter off the thread please) and then deal with such nuisances as hunger and thirst.
And so you do - or do you?

The familiar wrenching lurch of teleportation, and the sensation of slamming into the ground met Tiramir once more, as he found himself standing before an old decrepit woman. Above him stretched a cavernous ceiling, and beside him Marissa and Darak waited. The cleric shuffled towards them, and with what appeared to be a grin cackled "Welcome unfortunates..." Her voice had the ring of a harbinger, but putting his thoughts aside, Tiramir listened to her introduction. He was disturbed by her tale of disappearances, but he felt there was an underlying plot. A greater scheme for this ancient monastery than simply a Daedra base, and he was certain it had to do with those stones. Following the Redguard to the dormitories, he listened to her warnings of what they might face. Since when do Ogrim brutes call forth the undead? Strange things are at work here... After gesturing him to enter his room, she shut the door. Listening briefly for her fading footsteps, he locked the flimsy entrance, and made his way to the bed where he collapsed, unable to fathom how he might sleep with so much to think of.
Rising from the bed, Tiramir basked in the fresh morning. But the lack of light quickly chilled his spirit, and then, it came to him. Something was terribly wrong. Clawing furiously at his robe he realized in horror My amulet... is gone. The opal which had guided him in so many of his endeavors for knowledge and power was missing. Even more disturbing, he felt as though a part of his mind had been chiseled away, and the knowledge that had once been kept there, was gone. Listening closely, he heard the soft purrs of Darak's and Marissa's sleep, bringing him a twinge of envy. I’d best not leave without them. Whatever is responsible for this is much more than I can handle. After all, what being can affect ones memory? Unless... Hermaeus Mora again. The destiny of Darak and our lost memory intertwined with our assaults on Oblivion... Only time will prove if this bold Prince is responsible. Consolidating himself with the prospect of study, Tiramir lounged once more on his bed, taking solace in his books as he awaited his companions.

AAbbot Diane fed and watered the group and led them to a cell to sleep off the worst effects of the previous day, and the teleportation.
They were given the option to lock the door and so they did.
Frouth awoke feeling fresh . Then feeling for her trustee sword she noticed it was missing, vanished or stolen in the night. The door still appeared to locked from the inside, it was still under the clothes where she had left it before drifting off to sleep last night. So who got in here to remove the sword, was it this Abbot Diane, she was the most likely candidate, she could after all have spare keys to the doors. Was it simple theft the blade was very valuable.
Fortunately she crossbow and the silver bolts had not been removed. So she armed herself and went to see if any one else was awake.
There appeared to only be one person awake, a stranger, so she went to see the Abbot and found her unconscious on the floor.
To get the information that she wanted she would need to revive the Abbot, so Frouth performed the spell heal companion on Abbot Diane to revive her. To enable the Abbot to come fully to her sense Frouth checked that she was recovering and left her in search of food and drink, brandy would probably help the Abbot to recover if she could find some.

Searching the building for vitals Frouth found her sword, it looked like it may have been used in the assault on the Abbot, someone was trying to cause dissention amongst the enlarged group. It would appear at least one person could not be trusted but whom.
Frouth eventually found a pantry with bread, butter, cured hound meat, greef, comberries, Guar milk, cheese a pitcher which she filled with water and some brandy.
There was enough to make a substantial breakfast for them all when they awoke.
These she carried out to the refectory table that they had sat the night before. Then she went over to Abbot Diane and dampened her lips with some of the water. The Abbot was recovering but very slowly. The attack must have been magical as well physical for the recovery to take this long.

Frouth walks up to the room with the stranger (Tiramir) in and says "my name is Frouth, the Abbot has been assaulted" she paused, “can you offer any help, I have tried a Heal companion spell but she only recovers slowly”.
“Also I have found some breakfast if you are hungry” Frouth said almost as an after thought.
Frouth went back to the heavily laden refectory table and ate some of the food, then took a trip back to the pantry to wash with the water from the pump followed by a trip out side the Monastery to complete her morning ritual.

Tiramir paused from his reading, to look intently over his book at the Breton woman that had just entered his room.
"...also, I have found some breakfast if you are hungry." Smiling, Tiramir set the book down and, standing before the Breton, he introduced himself. "Greetings. I am Tiramir, a mage, and judging by your apparel, you too have some knowledge in the Art. As for breakfast," at this he grinned, "I could really use some." Following her to the table, they passed the injured cleric. Kneeling beside her, Tiramir sighed. "What you said was true, and I too cannot speed the recovery process. For now we will have to leave her, as I believe she suffers from a magical malady." Bracing the abbot's head on a cushion from his room, Tiramir continued to the center hall where a venerable collection of foods were piled on the table. A feast fit for Uriel Septim himself... Sliding into one of the chairs, he concluded he might as well enjoy himself in the meantime.

Lui awakens from his turbulent slumber and finds that his satchel has been disturbed during his period of incapacitation. He goes through his stuff and realizes that nothing is missing so he decides that it is something that he can deal with later. My slumber last night seems to have done far more ill than good. I need to get myself back into a proper balance before I continue.
As Lui finishes this thought he sits down on the floor close to the middle of the room and slips into a deep meditation. After staying this way for nearly half an hour he gets to his fett and stretches his arms above his head. Ahh. that feels so much better. Now to see how my companions are fairing.
After gathering up his belongings Lui exits his cell and makes his way towards the table where they first met the abbot. As he approaches he sees the abbot lying on the ground, It is as I thought. Something unnatural happened last night, and he rushes to the abbots side.
As he nears the center of the room he sees a stranger sitting at the table eating. Lui readies his weapon and charges to where the stranger is seated. "Who are you and what have you, and what have you done with Abbot Diane," he roars as he appraoches. It isn't until he is at the end of the table that he sees Frouth hidden from view on the other side of the mage. He stops his charge but still has his blade pointed at the stranger, "Frouth do you know this man?".

Slowly setting aside the cup of guar milk, Tiramir looked with amusement at the charging madman. "Put down your blade, brigand, I am in no way responsible for your abbot's injuries. Quite to the contrary, I am here to help you." This will prove itself to be quite an adventure... Deciding the man merited no more attention, he turned to Frouth to answer her questions. "Yes, I did 'lose' an item of value last night, one of my most precious. It was an amulet able to detect nearly all forms of magic and life. As for the doors, a scrap of wood and a metal key is no match for the secrets of the arcane. Even cantrips can render most locks useless. Apparently you battle mages do not dabble in the subtle forms of magic." Satisfied with his answer, he returned to the bread and cheese, hoping the insane Akavir before him would calm down, and that Darak and Marissa would soon rouse themselves.

Crimsons eyes opened slowly as if he had not opened them in centuries. Blinking slowly a few times the room around him came into focus. He shot upright throwing the covers from his chest, head darting around searching the room in an instant. Where am I?! He sit still on the bed, his legs resting over the side.
Slowly everything rolled back into his minds eye. The last thing he really remembered was Fygge about to teleport them and a blinding flash. He remembered nothing of his coming to where ever he was at present or how he got into the room he had clearly slept in. How long was I out? Has it been days? Have I been accidently seperated from the others by the teleportation magic? "Bah! Magic!" he said stepping down onto the cold floor. He quickly slipped on his tattered pants and boots, disregarding his shirt for the moment, and slowly approached the door.
Then touching the handle gently incase it was trapped, magically or otherwise, when nothing hit him or disembowled him or dropped him into a pit of marsh vipers he quitely turned the handle. ...not locked... He opened the door toward him peaking outside. Before him lay a long hallway with many doors, more rooms like his he assumed. At the far end it seemed to open up into a rather large space and he could hear the minor sounds of someone therein.
Slowly he crept down the hallway and upon finding the stairs he peered around the broad room before him, and up at its vaulted ceiling. The volume of the sounds increased now, who or whatever it was must be in this room. Looking down from the ceiling he noted the huge table, apparently fixed with many things he now noted, his vision and mind still clouded by sleep. Then he saw the source of the noises, a man sitting at the table joyfully sampling everything in his reach.
Slowly he approached the table alert as he could be incase the stranger became hostile. Rounding the table he sees Lui standing pointing at the stranger seated beside him was another he recongized, Frouth. Seeing he was in no immediate danger he stood up straight and walked toward Lui.
"Trouble?"

As Lui hears Crimson's words he responds without lowering his gaze or blade from the newcomer. "I do not yet know. He says he is here to help. Perhaps he is one from the other group of adventurers. Frouth might know more about him". The abbot mentioned vampires last night. He might be one of those vile spawn. If so Frouth might be infected as well.

Frouth replied to Crimson “No not trouble just a slight misunderstanding, Have you look amongst you things, as there seems to have been a visitor last night. They appear to have had a fancy for magic items, particularly one that detect the presence of things, beasts and enchantment” she sighed “Lui just got excited at the sight of a stranger after finding his stuff had been disturbed”
She gestured towards the food, “help you self to some breakfast, if we are to fight demons we will need to be well nourished”
“The abbot seems to have been attacked physically and with magic, and is taking a while to recover, we then need to find out what she knows of last nights visitor, but from the state of her I would say that it certainly was not a friend of hers, but who then again she had access to the rooms and I think our sleep was enhanced by magic”

At Frouth's response Lui lowers his weapon and takes a seat at the table opposite the stranger keeping his blade within quick reach. " I appologize for my hasty reactions. Last night the abbot mentioned that it may be vampires that are assaulting this monastary. They are one of the most hated enimies of my land. They invade us and try to enslave our people. I have lost many brothers to thier onslaughts. I am Lui Wong of the Dao Ming Temple. I take it that you are a member of the other band of adventurers. What is the strength of your comapny".
He then turns to Frouth. "It would make sense that our sleep was magically induced. During my slumber my dreams were scattered with visions of death and destruction. We must wait for the others to awaken and the abbot to regain some of her strength to make sense of all this confusion". He looks over the table and partakes in its humble offerings.

CURSED MONASTERY UPDATE 2
The Abbot begins to stir she gasps "That stench - can you not smell it. The poison of the daedra. Do not touch the food. Do not touch the food. But which one of you has done this thing? I pray to the nine divines I have the antidote."
All those of you eating, whether your rations are from the Abbey or are your own suddenly realise that you are feeling queasy, indeed very queasy if not very sick indeed.
"Here." The Abbot passes you potions. "These are my last, enough for one each in case the others have taken sick in their rooms. Now I must rest. I will answer what questions you have later."
The Abbot drags herself to one of the empty cells.

"Curse those foul beasts," Lui bellows as he swallows the draught. The liquid is thick and has a foul earthy taste. Hmm. At least it's better than the alternative. "We shuld go and wake the others to make sure that they do not become affected by some malady while they sleep. For if they do they may not wake. It will also be safer to have everyone together. They are rather unprotected whilst they slumber and there is security in numbers".
Darak Shadowblade
Mar 11 2006, 07:16 PM
Still at the Abbey, Darak frowned at Esquisite: well, if his weapon had to be "altered", he opted for an ebony longsword: although he was definitely more skilled swinging a dai-katana, he couldn't afford the risk to face enemies that normal steel coud not harm.
Then Esquisite, with a gesture of her hand, teleported him away, along with his companions.
They were greeted by Abbot Diane, who explained them the dire situation at the monastery. Then she led them to the cells upstairs and departed.
Darak had no desire to sleep: he feared nightmares would haunt his rest. He lay down on the plinth, staring at the ceiling and ponderig the recent events. Tiramir had told him he had not found any reference about the Crimson Blades... this could not be, unless... he was wondering if maybe more time had passed than he accounted for during his imprisonment, when his eyes decided to close and he drifted away in a dreamless slumber.
He awoke some time later. He had still his clothes on and they were all creased. He hurried downstairs, fearing he had overslept. Approaching the refectorium, he heard voices. Moving silently, he entered the room unseen, just in time to hear the words of the abbot who lay on the refectory table.
After a moment of astonishment, Darak was relieved he had not eaten anyting since his arrival.
He decided to announce his presence to the people in the room and started: "So, fellows, it seems we have a problem... most of us, at least."

"Well, now that thats settled! Breakfast of champions, that!" He says with a wide smile wiping his mouth to make sure none of it got on him. "Missing items... Missing items... Well, I cant say Im missing anything being as I have nothing to go missing. Much less items of enchantment. Atleast I now know I havent been seperated from you lot. That eases my mind, slightly, How did I get to that room there? Was I concious when we arrived? I remember nothing from the moment we were teleported til the moment I awoke here."
"Lui, you said something of vampires? I know those beasts all too well... Theres nothing in any world I despise more than undead, in all its varying forms. Should such talk of them here be true, Im afraid the fun has only just begun." he finished with a wry smile.

"Not a bad idea... but we dont yet know what were up against. The redguard will have to regain herself more completely before she can fill us in on what she knows about what happened lastnight and what continues to happen even now I fear. It seems fairly obvious that whoever is behind these things doesnt want anyone to be able to detect anything by means of magic or enchantments. Doesnt it strike anyone else as odd that the only items taken while everyone was in a magical sleep was magical items that detect the hidden? After the redguard was taken care of each and everyone here could have been killed and everything we have taken. Why stop at just magical devices that detect things? Why not ALL magical devices? Why not everything that appeared of value to atleast try to throw us off what they were really after? I fear were being played the fool and our humble host knows more than shes willing to reveal."
"I think our first matter of business should be to get everyone together here and see if we can find a means of food and drink that arent tainted. If we cant eat and drink to keep us alive we certainly cant combat whatever lies ahead."

Sneering, Tiramir threw the hunk of bread on to his plate. What luck... Taking the flask from Lui, he sipped at the foul concoction. 'Bitter as bile' my mother used to say. Looking around, it appeared nearly the full strength of the other group was gathered, and that he and Darak only awaited Marissa. Rising to address Crimson's queries, he answered, "As you pointed out, whoever entered our rooms last night could have done far worse. Nothing would have stopped them from slitting our throats. Taking that into account, the abbot's "reassurance" that the rooms were warded, and that only she had a second set of keys, it seems likely it was her. But as she removed only specific items, it would also appear she's trying to use us. Perhaps she is hoping that without them, we will see something we could not see before. I however, suggest we search her, as, if she was attacked on her way from our rooms, and she did indeed steal some of our equipment, then they must still be on her person. As to the food, I believe anything housed within this cursed place is tainted, even the animals. We will have to leave to find anything edible." Hoping he had put Crimson's fears at a rest, he stood to the side as he awaited a response.

Last post before I retire for tonight. Even a cursory examination will reveal that Abbot Diane cannot have inflicted her own wounds.

Frouth said agreeing with Crimson "That is very true, to go in mob handed would probably get a poor reaction, I know it would from me. prehaps, because you are the least armoured it would be advisable four you Crimson to speak to her in her room." Frouth paused, "she may reveal more to a quite subtile hand rather lan a heavy hand"

"I agree with Crimson. As a child I was told that you can catch more rats with sweets than with acid. We must question her with cool heads and be careful not to throw around any accusations".
He then lowers his voice and leans closer to his companions so that only they can hear him. "Actually on second thought there might be a use for accusations. The fact that our stuff was stolen and there are no clues is probably meant to sow the seeds of mistrust amongst us. If it wasn't for this reason there would be no reason for thier stealth. The enemy must already know that we are after them so they have no reason to disguise thier foul deeds. If we pretend to play into thier plan it may lure the culprits into a false sense of security that would prove benificial to us".

Crimson stood in deep thought as his companions discussed the events and the cause. The gears of his mind turned trying to put peices together that just didnt fit no matter how he turned them. Then it hit him. He could only hope he was wrong.
"Why steal items that can reveil the unseen? So you cant see whats all around you... all the time." He said, broken from his thoughts. "I think whatever curses this place knew we carried means to detect them and all it would have taken is one simple use of such a means to reveil that we are potentially surrounded on all sides by invisible forces. Whatever plagues this place I think it or they are here right now all around us, hidden from our plain sight. I dont think undead will be the most of problems... atleast not in a corpreal form..." He paused for a few moments to allow his words to sink in with everyone in attendance.
"I hope Im wrong... But I dont think any of us are safe alone. I believe we all should tend to the abbot and stay together in atleast groups of two if not more until we find out more about whats going on here."

That vile temple, she was there again. The grotesque statue standing before her, but this time it wore a familiar face of a person from the past. She couldn't place it, but he was beautiful. She looked down to see a green gem, emerald? Touching the stone the giant statue swung at her with his axe. He screamed at her and started to chase her. It was calling her name "Marissa! Marissa! Know thee Enemy." Why was she crying? The door was so close, she had to get out.
The young dunmer female awoke feeling mentally exhausted. Something in the air was wrong, but she couldn't quite place it. The memory of her nightmare started to fade, and her breathing evened. Marissa became aware of her surroundings, the dim light filtered in to cell. The blankets where damp with sweat, and she noticed her feet were freezing. The blanket was short, and stained in one spot near the end. Pulling the blanket off she climbed from the bed and got up. She winced at the freezing coblestones and reached for her shoes first. She left her napsack in the room but pulled on her woolen robe as she left the room.
She could hear sounds now, a conversation; it was somewhere down the hallway. She heard Darak talking with Tiramir and others. She guessed there might be more heroes in the abbey. Marrissa entered the hall and paused at the archway "Good morning." she said in a groggy tone. She pulled the robe tightly about her, wishing to sit right on a fireplace. Her tiny figure crossed the small distance to the table and pulled out a chair next to Darak. Marissa sat and smiled, she cupped her hands together and blew into them. She looked at several of the new people. She bowed her head in respect due to all Navareen's childred. "It is a pleasure to meet you all, though i wish the circumstances where under better terms. My name is Marissa."
She turned again, to view everyone.
"Where is the Abbot?"

As Tiramir followed with interest everyone's words, Marissa entered the room at last. Deciding she could have the scenario laid out before her in a moment, he wanted to make himself heard. "All of you speak wise words, and your counsel is good, but we must take action now if we hope to interrogate the abbot. Whoever attacked her last night might be on their way to finish the job. Now that Marissa has come, the time to move is right, lest it might be too late.” Turning to Crimson, Tiramir commented on his words. “Though perhaps your theories of incorporeal beings watching us now are skeptical, your suggestion of staying together is sound. I feel we should all leave for the abbot's room, and as two go in to question her, the rest can stand watch outside. Remember, if we can gently put her at rest with a spell, we might have the opportunity to recover our items." Hoping action would soon be agreed upon and taken, Tiramir waited in anticipation.

At Tiramirs suggestion he stands up ready to depart for the abbots cell should the rest agree. "As I say, I do indeed hope I am VERY wrong in my thought that we are currently surrounded by forces we cannot see. But rest assured there IS something hidden here, living or not so much, that is intentionally being kept from us by means of theft of our property. As such its safe to assume its either of great danger to us or great aid. My bet is on the former..."

"Well if that's the plan we must not waste any time in implementing it. Whether they are trying to turn us against each other or they are incorporeal we must stay together, in both body and spirit. Lets make our way to the abbots chambers". The group gets up and starts off in the direction that the abbot left. "It's good that your group is all accounted for Tiramir, but has any one seen Ilutivar since last night?".
They arrive at the abbots chamber and see that she has fallen asleep on the bed inhabiting her room. "I think Tiramir is right and that we all shouldn't go in as it may startle her. Tiramir andmyself will go in and talk to her and the rest of you should keep watch outside. We also might want to send a pair to go and check on Ilutivar. It is getting rather late for him to still be sleeping. Unless anyone has any objections Tiramir and I are going to head in now".

With Lui at his side, Tiramir entered the room. The air was heavy and warm, and the abbot's rasping came from a cot in the corner of the cell. Motioning for Lui to follow, they went to stand by the aging cleric. Sweat matted her forehead, and her breathing was slow, but she appeared conscious enough. Lowering himself so he might speak to her closer, he asked Diane, "What mistress, can you tell us of last night's events?"

THE CURSED MONASTERY UPDATE 3
Abbot Diane is recovering a little. She looks at you balefully. "Have I spent the time here waiting for help only to be killed by my helpers? Of course you do not know which of you it was. Sadly I saw nothing but I would have thought there should be some clue available were you to look for it. Let me tell you a little of the monastery.
Because of the way it grew over time it is a series of four expansions. This building along with three others is found outside the most recent wall and represents the maximum extent of the place at its height. All are empty and as far as I know free of daedra. The outer walls are square and may be entered through any one of four gates, one in the centre of each side. These walls are not hollow but there are small rooms above each gate used in the past to view what was arriving at the monastery. The walls also have walkways on them. The walkways and rooms are accessible by stairs within the walls."
She groans as she sits higher on her sleeping plinth.
"I could draw it more easily but I will do my best. Within the square the area falls into two parts roughly the same size. If you enter through the nearest gate to here (the east gate) you arrive at the second most recent construction mainly buildings for visitors, places for them to sleep, infirmary, warming room and the like. These buildings are but one storey in height above ground. Only the refectory and attached kitchen have cellars and they are but one floor deep. The other part, accessible directly from the gate furthest from us now (the west gate) is itself walled. These walls were not defensive but designed to separate the rabble of visitors from the elite of the monastery. There is but one gate, in the southern side, of the this wall but it was never guarded. A wooden door could be pushed across at times but it was usually left open. The whole thing was for show."
(OOC>Any artists among you fancy trying to draw a plan I'll happily comment.)
"Within this rectangular wall are the two remaining phases of development. Most of the southern part contains the buildings we monks would use - refectory, kitchen, dorter, reredorter, lavatorium, monks' infirmary, chapter house, monks' warming room and abbots lodging. All these buildings are two storey with one level of cellars. They line a broad path leading north to the oldest part of the site, the Monastery church. I believe you will be able to reach the church safely but I cannot know for sure. I hope I am making sense."
She passes her hand across her forehead. "Please bring me some water. There is a concealed door in the centre of the southern wall of the refectory here - where we first met - with what food and drink I have. I doubt if it has been tampered with."
She sighs. "It takes so long to describe! Anyway, the church itself was built when living unprotected in this part of the empire was unheard of. It stretches almost the full width east-west of the area within the decorative wall and appears as a massive block of masonery devoid of windows. It stands at about three storeys in height although there is but the one 'room' within above ground. Entrance is at the west end through massive bronze doors. To summarize, within a square are two equal rectangles. The western rectangle may be divided about a third of the way down from the north. The northern part is the church."
With a small smile she adds "I suppose at least we have the advantage that they built on a grid pattern. The church is like a box. The only way in from outside appears to be through the bronze western door but that is not in fact the case. Two small doors in the northern side of the church open onto the cloister. This is a one storey square walkway attached to the church enclosing a grassy area known as a garth. In the centre of the garth are the two rows of standing stones. They are walled in by invisible force shields and I am certain you cannot reach them. However the doors from the cloister into the church are unlocked. Should you wish to try to gain entry that way you will need to scale the nothern side of the defensive wall, scale the inner decorative wall and then scale the cloister wall itself. I cannot tell you whether it is defended."
She glances sharply at you to see if your eyes are yet glazing over at the detail.
"Beneath the church at level one lies a series of disused rooms that were the monks living quarters when the place was first built. At level two there is the crypt - burial vault. Beneath the centre of the crypt a trapdoor leads down to an ossuary. Also, leading south from the crypt is a concealed passage that comes out in the cellar of the abbots lodging to the south of the church."
There is a long pause. "Of course I cannot know but I believe the fiends of Oblivion are in the old living quarters. Just one more thing, which may mean nothing, the alignment of the crypt and ossuary places the ossuary directly beneath the standing stones. Now is there anything else you would ask of me?"
OOC> If anything is unclear raise it in your discussion thread and I will try to clarify it.

Tiramir listened intently to each of the cleric’s words, going over and over the details. Suddenly, he remembered the scrap of parchment he had found in his room this morning. Removing it from his pocket, he unfurled it upon the table so that Lui and the abbot could better see. "Judging by the date on the back of this map, it shouldn't even be intact. This also means its accuracy may be questionable. Abbot Diane, if you feel so, we can always make the necessary changes. Although, if you like it, I can trace over the faded lines with ink to strengthen the color..." Standing back to let them look, he returned to pondering the abbot's descriptions of the "Garth".
"Yes Mage," the abbot spoke, "it might prove helpful, but the monk who did this had little knowledge of our walls. Additionally, this was made before we knocked through the center of the southern infirmary for the road. If you make these changes, it will be quite adequate." Writing with care, Tiramir corrected the details on the map, then carefully traced over all the lines with his quill. "There. With this, we can now plan out our assault against those Daedra dogs!" Tiramir vehemently cried.

Ilutivar could barely woke up as if he was under some kind of a sleep spell. What is wrong with me? Aaaa!! Where are my companions? I can’t feel their presence – my “detect” ring is missing! Who could have stolen it? It was surely the Abbot Diane, but why, she seemed so nice. “Many of them that pretend to be your friends will try to destroy you or hurt your feelings” – yes, that was it! He finally remembered the complete sentence Metharia told him! I must watch my back more carefully. He decided to see where the others are.
Ilutivar took his sword and left his room. He could barely walk - his senses where decreased. He crawled down the stairs, to the altar and started praying to the nine divines : “Oh great Lords! Please help me restore my blessing!” Suddenly he heard a very familiar gentle voice: “No need for praying to them my dearest Ilutivar. After all they are not your true gods, aren’t they? You really pray to Vivec and his treacherous companions Almalexia and Sotha Sil. Why haven’t you just called me – didn’t you already learnt of my powers? Ah! You Dunmers, so stubborn and proud. So “sticked” to their beliefs. You drive me insane, but don’t worry – I shall help you. Now, close your eyes and breathe deeply.” Some sort of a blue magic circle appeared around him and then, in a millisecond, Metharia disappeared.
Something is different. I feel wonderful. He opened his eyes and, a miracle - he could now see more sharp, but still everything was very dark. Again another miracle – he could feel his friends, but he didn’t want them to see him like this(crawling on his knees), so he hid in a dark corner until he recovers. I could eat some of this food. Ilutivar saw Frouth preparing breakfast and he saw the conflict between Lui and Tiramir. He wanted to stop Lui, but he was to weak – he was nauseous. After Diana discovered the food was poisoned he whispered: “The antidote!” and ate it (it was lying on the table). After a few minutes it
started to work.
Ilutivar started running to catch up with the others. He heard some voices in the corridor to the left. Huh! What a relief. They are here. His companions and some other adventurers where there. “Thank god your are here! I was beginning to think that you will never notice me. I was lying almost unconscious in the corner. Somebody took my “detect” ring so I couldn’t find you.” He looked at the other adventurers and introduced himself: “Hello! I am Ilutivar. Maybe we can better know each other later – when we solve this mystery. I heard Crimson talking about incorporeal creatures – that might be true because it is very difficult to steal my ring without be noticed. I wear it on my finger all the time and it is sacred to me because without it I can do nothing but hibernating like a plant. Another thing that may show Crimson’s claiming is true is that a strange woman appears to me every time I meditate or pray. That woman or what ever she is can walk trough physical things like a ghost and she can disappear in a moment. She claims to be a god of some kind. There is something very strange and suspicious at her. By the way, she cured me – my sight is improved. Where are Lui and Tiramir?”

Frouth turned to Ilutivar "Finally we are all awake, Lui and Tiramir are with the Abbot trying to glean as much information as possible from her" she paused "we need to stay together as much as possible as there seems to be strange beings visiting us as a group and some of us as individuals. That way we can back each other up and be there to support each other," she thought to herself that we can keep an eye on each other and thus prevent anymore theft.

Marissa was listening to the conversation going on within the Abbot's room. Her shoulder was resting against the stone wall, which was still rather cold. It would get quite crowded in one of these tiny cells if everyone were to sqeeze inside. She tried her best to picture a map in her head, but such things weren't her expertise. She did have pen and paper but she had left everything in her room.
Abbot Diane passes her hand across her forehead. "Please bring me some water. There is a concealed door in the centre of the southern wall of the refectory here - where we first met - with what food and drink I have. I doubt if it has been tampered with."
Pushing from the wall she walked to where she first met with Abbot Diane, she moved swiftly to the southern section of the building. Looking the refractory she saw nothing out of the ordinary. Finding the hidden store was a bit of a trick, and it wasn't until the conversation was over that she returned. She was panting as she passed the water inside. "The door was very hard to find, i am sorry it took so long Abbot." She noticed people where passing around a crude map of the monestary, she took it when it came to her. It looked line a fine map to her, a few things were missing she thought. She handed it back.

The abbot thanks Marissa. "Have you investigated what was used in my attempted murder?" she asks. "Did you find the weapon? Perhaps I can establish who wielded it. "
As she takes the water you can see the shape of the wound is odd, not like any weapon you know, much too square. There is also a faint orange-red dust in her hair. There was however no weapon to be seen,

Frouth said "when I woke my sword was missing and when I found it I thought it was used to attack the Abbot, but there is no part of the sword that could leave a mark like that, has anybody any idea what the orange-red dust in her hair, it could be rust, but I would lke to know for sure."
After a pause "Does the Abbot think the map drawn by Tiramir is a good likeness of the area, if it is then we can use it as a guide to the area, I think we could do with the stones marked on it."
"If it is we should eat some of the food and go in through the east gate to the refectory and look around, especially the cellar" Frouth suggested.

"A brick!" Tiramir proclaimed with a wry grin. "The weapon used, was a brick. Be that true, I suggest we search for any walls in the vicinity constructed from them. After locating one, we can search for where a brick might have been removed, and learn what clues we can find from there. We should also see if traces of the same red dust is on anyone present..." Hoping his insight was a stepping stone in their investigation, Tiramir awaited someone else’s thoughts on the matter.

"Yes, offcourse! A brick. It is a bit strange, don't you think? With all those weapons the murderor chose a brick. I agree with you Tiramir - we should search for a brick wall.
That would be much easier if I had my ring. But something is not right here – a Deadra creature killing with a brick?
That's ridicilous . We should split in groups of two and search for the wall.

Deciding action was needed, Tiramir took the initiative and spoke to Diane. "On our way through the refectory and living quarters, I payed little notice to the walls. Perhaps Abbot, you might point us in the right direction as to where we might find such a place? As for the groups; Crimson, Marissa, Frouth and I can form one party, and the rest, the other." "So it is one of the rooms with a cellar, that also means the refrectory is still in the frame, Which other places are."
