Ismail, Wulfgar, Ulf and Garrick arrive in Stormcoif in a state of some confusion. They are apparently inside a private house. They are immediately accosted by a fat little man with gingery hair who is eating a banana.
"Have you books? I must have books! I need books!"
As the calming influence of the banana begins to work he seems to register you for the first time.
"Oh, they've sent you have they? I suppose I'd better tell you what is going on here." He bounces around rather as if he were made of rubber. "Village is abandoned except for me and Dull Griet who lives in the hovel in the south end of the main street. She's insane or she would go too."
He looks at you. "It's not that we've been attacked mind. But something has poisoned the well and it's the only source of water hereabouts. Couple of fellows went down to take a look. Never came back. That's when I realised - I'd read something once a long time ago - about this well being built over a very powerful Daedric shrine. Went and had a peek - prehensile hands and feet, don't you know. Things down there. Things I wouldn't go near for a sackful of bananas. Some wrethched winged creature seems to be in charge. She has some very strange armour and weapons about her I could sense the magic."
He looks at you again. "Bad enough we've had to move but what worries me more is that stream leads directly to the main water supply for the Imperial City.
Anyway you can't do anything about it now. You need to rest. There are two big rooms each big enough for four. I'll show you to one. Another group is on its way. When it has arrived and you have all slept I can probably tell you a little more about the well."
He conducts you into a room with four beds.
Shortly thereafter the second group arrives from the Drunken Alit. They hear the same story and are taken into the second room.
Zow, Ander, Hadrio and Darian make up the second cohort.
All instantly all fall asleep.

The Haunted Well - Update 1
The group awakens completely refreshed feeling wonderful. The sensation lasts for a matter of seconds. Physically you are still fine but something is troubling your mind. You cannot tell exactly what it is but something is different. It will not take you long to discover that every enchanted item item, potion or scroll that helped you detect enchantment has been taken and those among you who knew any spell to that effect has suddenly forgotten it. Someone has been into your room. Who? And is stealing the items the only thing they have done?
The obvious answer as to 'who?' is Ook but when you go to find him he has been knocked unconscious. He is alive but weak, a healing potion or spell will revive him and perhaps he can tell you something of what happened.
As well as one of you doing this, everyone must perform such natural bodily functions as all creatures do (off the thread please) and then deal with such nuisances as hunger and thirst.
And so you do - or do you?

Though the sleep had a wonderful effect on Garrick's but, yet he could not say the same for his mind. Even before he awoke, the Altmer was thrashing and moaning in his sleep and he awoke sobbing with a scream nearly passing his lips. Looking around, he noticed he had been the first to awake.
"Thank Azura for small blessings," he whispered to himself, as he wiped the cold sweat of his brow. That was a terrible dream, but what could it mean? Garrick thought as another shiver ran down his spine. Perhaps I have never slept so deep before, allowing this dark thing to stay unnoticed, but I wish it had stayed such.
Indeed, the dream that had entered the High Elf's mind was far from pleasant, even though it had revealed something of his memories to him. Garrick feared, however, what those memories could mean for his past, present and future. Again, he had seen the burnt bodies, but this time, there was more to the scene.
The figure whose eyes were his in the dream (and Garrick feared it actually had been him) was sitting on a raised dais, in something of a throne, though the details had been obscured from him. Before him stood monstrous creatures, a motley crew of many different races, whose faces were all twisted into a feral and bestial mockery of what they had been. All in all, Garrick remembered seeing about three dozen of them, looking up to him and speaking amongst each other. It had occurred to him that this was some kind of court, but the Altmer shuddered at the thought of what kind of court it might be.
Suddenly, there was a lot of commotion, as three figures were brought in, chained in silver and stripped of all but the barest of clothes. Two men and a female were led before the dream-Garrick and forced to kneel at the base of his throne. "These are the ones, lord," the monstrous Nord who led them in said. "These are the Cannibals..."
"Cannibals!" many among the crowd whispered and hissed at the three figures. Dream-Garrick cut off the sounds with a single gesture and gazed at the barely clothed prisoners before him, not a single emotion in his body.
"You have gone against the letter of the law, friends," the dream-Garrick said, his voice deeper and more darkly powerful than Garrick could imagine. "The letter of my law. You know what the punishment is for such perpetrations."
"We fear not death! Do your worst, false King!" the female yelled and spit blood in the dream-Garrick's face.
Dream-Garrick only smiled and raised his hand, palm opened towards the three before him. "Execution by fire," he said. "A lengthy execution." With those words, flames billowed forth from his hand, engulfing the prisoners and burning them terribly. As they writhed in pain, (more terrible than it should have been, Garrick guessed) the crowd swiftly backed away from the flames, as the dream-Garrick laughed bitterly. "No one goes against the laws of the Vampire King and lives!"
And with those last words echoing in his head, Garrick surveyed his surroundings. A bit wobbly he got up and left the room. Then it him: something was different! There was something missing from his mind! Something that had been there, still buried beneath repressed memories, but Garrick could clearly sense the void of where it had been! What had been stolen and by who?
Garrick quickly made his way downstairs, only to find Ook unconscious on the floor. Without hesitating, he checked his body for wounds and pulled together the strands of magicka to heal the strange little man. "Come on," he breathed, "I won't have you dying on me!" And with those words, Garrick released the surge of healing power into Ook's body, hoping it would have enough effect. Hoping he had not screwed up and spent the energy in vane.

When Wulfgar awoke, he found Ulf and Ismail still asleep, but Garrick's bed deserted. He felt wonderfully refreshed, although his groaning stomach reminded him painfully of the fact that in the hurry before being teleported by Fygge he had totally forgotten to go looking for some food - a decent meal was what he was craving for the most at the moment.
After picking up his gear, he descended the stair to find Garrick leaning over the apparently lifeless body of Ook. Glancing quickly around the room, nothing else caught his eye.
Taking his axe into his right hand, Wulfgar asked: "What has happened here?"

The Haunted Well - Update 2
The healing spell begins to work. Ook crawls away from you. He sees the axe in Wulfgar's hand as he seems to be about to embed it in Garrick's head - or so it appears yo Ook's brain. He yells something neither of you understand.
Then he says: "These doors were warded with spells against the intrusion of the forces of Oblivion but someone here is more powerful. The attack on me was from INSIDE the building. One - or more - of you has been suborned. Perhaps you do not even know yourselves who it is? But it is a simple matter to cast a detect enchantment spell and find which of you it may be. I must rest before I can tell you more of the well. In the meantime it might serve you to ensure nothing has been tampered with."
Ook climbs up to the ceiling where he has a hammock and rests to heal himself.

"A strange fellow that one is," Wulfgar said silently, as he was stepping closer to Garrick, fixing his axe again at his belt since there did not appear to be any direct threat to them.
"Will you have a short look around the house whether there is anything peculiar while I wake the others?"
Ascending the stair again he added, winking during the last words:
"...and I do not want to appear like I do not care about our mission, but I'm dieing to get something edible into my hands, so if you should run across anything or get Ook to tell us where we can find provisions, me and my stomach would be most grateful."
When he was on the upper floor again, he entered the room he had slept in and shouted "Wake up, someone has broken into the house! Get out of bed, quickly!"
OOC: The next part is only valid if nothing extraordinary happens in that room.
Without waiting to see whether Ulf and Ismail were really getting up, he busted into the room where Ook had led the other group and shouted "Wake up, wake up!"

Zow opened his eyes furiously, and without hesitation, he reached for one of his arrow heads, then dashed for Wulfgar, aiming for his throat. Before he would attack, he realised what he was doing, and stopped. "Where am I? How did I get here" he thought to himself. Oh yes, he was teleported, and is now with another strange fellow named Ook. Displeased he turned around and picked up his belongings.
"You're from the other group I take it?" Zow muttered in a disapointing way, now he had to work with more people, and he didn't like that.
"What has happened here? I feel strange, and terribly hungry" Zow said. He held up all his equipment, as if he had plans to leave the place. It felt good to sleep, as he had not done so in weeks. But he felt strange afterwards.
While waiting an answer, Zow placed his goggles, mouth piece, and hood back on, hiding his identity from the other group.

Awaken rather forcefully, Ander tumbled in the bed, and ended up falling from it "What? Who? Where? Oh, it's you" he asked quickly, the words coming fast out of his mouth
"What is the matter? It is not like someone came to assasinate..." he began, but the words trailed off and he seemed shaken, for one moment "Nevermind that; why wake us up in such a rude fashion?" Ander complained to Wulfgar, as he started to finally stand up and place his items in the appropiate places of his body.

Impatient, Zow looked at Wulfgar and said: "Nevermind". He then went down to where the others and Ooka were.
He did not care what happened to Ooka, but it obviously would effect the entire group including himself somehow. He then looked over the members that were awake, and annouced: "I'll be checking the perimeter of the town, if you wish to come then do so, just stay close". However he hoped no one would follow him.
He continued out the door, and surveyed the area, trying to spot any clues, and food for that matter. He had all his gear with him, so he was prepared for anything. More importantly he was looking for small game to hunt, or any edible plants around the area.
He looked at the surrounding enviroment, a change of color: he would need to remake his ghillie suit. And thus he went on, looking for food, or clues, and to remake his ghillie suit.

Hadrio had always been a deep sleeper. He had been dreaming about his favorite "hot coffee", and hardly heard the screams to wake up. Slowly, however, his conciousness drifted back to him. His gut felt empty, a feeling he was very familiar with.
He grabbed his machete and strapped his club to his belt, always combat-ready. He had obviously been waken up for a reason, and didn't want to be caught off-guard.
He left the room, and went downstairs where the rest of the crew was waiting. "What it do, what's poppin' in this joint?" mumbled Hadrio, still half-asleep.

Ulf was in a valley looking down on a vast army of dremoras all facing him, showing no emotions and playing vaguely with their weapons as always. Oh no, I have been captured and put on display to the hordes. Something moved his vision to the left; he couldn't move anything himself, not even his eyes. Into view came first the dremora generals, oddly two of them seemed familiar. Ulf gasped when he saw the Lord of Destruction stand there in full figure, two of his arms crossed, one holding his giant axe, and the last one serving or giving something to someone on his right... who was that? Ulf let a cry out when he saw Vilhelm, his friend and victim from so long ago, being the someone next to Dagon. He smiled at Ulf and ... mocked him.
Screaming he woke up from the far too real dream to be anything but heavily affecting its dreamer. He had a thunderous headache, and felt like he had slept on bare stone. He was sweating like a pig, and feeling his forehead he almost burned himself... with his hands. They were both like two pieces of iron that had just been pulled out from the fire. What is happening to me? Thinking quickly he tried to cast a very light version of frost damage while holding his hands together at the tips of the fingers effectively making the centre of the spell between his hands. With teeth clenched and sweat dripping he managed to keep the spell active and pulsating until his hands was cooled down to a temperature than was manageable. Ending the spell Ulf let out another cry, which he tried to quench. Water! He found his water skin and poured all of it over himself and his hands; it has partly the desired effect.
Ulf put the skin back in his pack, stood up and geared up. Only now did he notice Ismail lying there still sleeping, wondering for a second how he could not have woken up by all the commotion Ulf had made. Garrick and Wulfgar was nowhere to be seen. "They must be downstairs", Ulf told himself and the wooden planks in the floor. His back ached; sleeping in a bed was not comfortable for him anymore really. Not without training he guessed. Before he went anywhere he shuddered as he saw burnmarks on the bed and sheets he'd been using.
Putting his fur boots on and walking down the staircase, Ulf heard some noises from the other room. The other group must have arrived too; he wondered which kind of people they were and if they would get along.
"Garrick! Am I glad to see you", Ulf cried out when he saw the charismatic altmer. He let out a small ugly teethed smile but soon realised something was not right. "What is it? Something amiss...? Where are Ook and Wulfgar?" Before getting an answer he continued: "I slept long didn't I? Had the worst nightmare in my long life of bad nightmares and the oddest thing...", Ulf was interrupted by Wulfgar, who came down the stairs looking a bit irritated. "You met the other group I reckon my son; anything not right with them?"
"I am out of water, so we need to find this source of the poisoning quickly...". He told them about the dream and the way his hands burned like on fire. "This is very disturbing friends, I fear of my own control of my arcane powers. Hopefully it is a temporary effect of the teleportation and the...", Ulf hesitated and looked at Garrick. "I feel something is missing in my mind, something I can't discern. Alarming!"
While the two comrades spoke, he opened his pack and distributed any restore health, fire shield and resist magic potions. "You know what I got, so do not hesitate to ask me for more in case of need."
Ulf felt his mind had been probed and violated, but why and by whom?

Ismail slept like 20 years ago, when he was a young boy, in his large bedroom viewing the sea surrounding isle of Rondam. Those were the days. And that was some night - he fell asleep and woke instantly, at least that what it seemed like to him. And he was completely relaxed. Shame that someone ran in the room yelling something. Only Ulf was in the room now. The other two were gone. What's going on, Ismail asked himself.
"Time to rise and shine" - Ismail thought to himself. He was slowly dressing up and then equipped the chain mail, took sword and shield and headed to see what's going on and why did they woke him up.

"I awoke to find Ook unconscious on the floor, thankfully a spell of mine revived him enough," Garrick told his companion. Quickly, before any others arrived, the Altmer walked up to Ulf and clasped him at both shoulders. "Do not repeat what just happened here, Ulf, for your sake, do not!" Garrick hissed at him, his voice somewhat desperate. "Ook said that someone here, inside, attacked him and withdrew whatever was taken from our minds. Yes, our minds, I too had something removed, but I only sense the void left, not what was taken." With his eyes pleading to listen to him, Garrick looked at Ulf for a few more seconds and then walked over to the door.
"One of the other group has left to check out the town," Garrick explained as he planted himself firmly before the (only?) entrance to the house. "I am not about to allow any of the others to go out alone, that would be foolish and detrimental to our mission. We work together or we die alone, let us make sure the others understand that too."
"Wulfgar was friendly enough to wake up the others," Garrick then continued with on a lighter tone, as he looked at the other Nord. "I am sorry though, good Wulfgar, I have not yet had the chance to look around for something to eat. However, I feel like you do: quite empty. However, if there is nothing to be found, I am certain we could eat some of the ingredients I brought with me, there should be some highly nutricious roots. Unless anyone would prefer finer tastes for more delicate palates."
At these words, Garrick smiled, though not whole-heartedly. He was worried. Ulf had confided in him, should he know do the same and tell of his nightmare? Don't be foolish! You don't even know what it means yet! Garrick's mind screamed. His heart, however, knew the truth... the Vampire King in the dream had been he, himself. But you are no vampire! Anyone can see that! the Altmer's logic noted. Perhaps he had been cured? Were you even cured? something brought forward from the deepest recesses of Garrick's being. Who is to say you won't turn back?
Suddenly, the High Elf shook his head violently and said to Ulf and Wulfgar, "Would you be so kind as to look for food? I shall make sure no one else leaves this place to meet his or her doom. I will be fine, I had a troubled sleep too, just like you, Ulf. As soon as I have the chance, without 'strangers' listening in, I will tell the three of you about it."

Ulf looked at Garrick with a mixture of disbelief and thoughtfulness. When Garrick had asked him and Wulfgar to look for food, he has seemed distant and in deep thought."What?! Ah... yees", Ulf said slowly still pondering something.
Where did I read...? Ulf shook his head and mentally entered back into the room, thinking a million thoughts at once he decided to save his take on their mission objective and especially on his speciality: The Deadra - surely a Winged Twilight if the description from Ook was accurate... and truthful. Ulf thought bitter thoughts as some of his good old paranoia and distrust for everyone briefly returned.
"At least the thing is not immune to normal weapons, unless it of course is a special one", he mumbled under his breath.
Noticing Ismail coming down the stairs and hearing a "What it do, what's goin' on in this joint?" coming from behind, he turned and nodded to the redguard. "Good morning sir, Ulf here, welcome to the Search for your breakfast Inn", Ulf boomed and gave a sincere smile with his much darker than ivory teeth. "Ismail, to you too, how was sleep for you lads?"
Turning to the redguard again he continued: "We're going to look for some food around here and water is waning quickly too. Let's see what we find and have a `fiest´ before any tactical meetings or skirmishes".
With that he went down a corridor with his staff in hand and a whistle of an unknown song.
What went into Garrick just there...? He seemed very upset at something, but it is not like that grave things have happened now compared to the incident at the camp. Ulf was baffled when he remembered Garrick as particularly unmoved by the commotion then. "Must've been in shock or something, don't go overboard Ulf... back to the task at hand."
If there is a back door to this place be it enchanted or hidden, I am going to find it. Food can wait. With that thought he was going to search everything thoroughly and maybe in some places have the luxury of using a spell or two to see the unseen.

Ulf is rather surprised to find the others staring at him. Suddenly he notices that where he had poured water on himself his skin had become blotched and blistered. Something must have been put into the water during the night.
Zow can see nothing odd in the settlement nor find anything useful. All buildings have been completely cleared out when the inhabitants left. There is a well - presumably the well Ook was talking about. He also sees a shack that must contain the madwoman.

Getting back to the room with the staircase after finding absolutely nothing while searching the house, and because Ulf have a nagging feeling he has to share with the others, he starts a sentence: "Friends, there is something I have thought of... something that is kicking my dust up so to speak. The..." He stops immediately when one of them points at him with an utter of terror.
Ulf moves to a brighter spot and examines his arms. Giving out a cry he bursts out: "Do NOT touch the water! I'd say do not touch anything at all in this godforsaken place unless you really need to." He removes his shirt and confirms his fear; it's all over the place - of course! - he poured it over himself in his panic with the fiery hands. Did I drink any? Ulf shakes his head "This is the doing of poison or other alchemic chemicals, which I am not certain of, but stay from it - and warn the others! Do not eat or drink anything you brought here, not until we have managed to either find a neutralizer or fresh water to cleanse it all with."
Deep in thought, Ulf pulls out a restore health potion. Pouring a bit of it out on his hands, he checks for anything in the bottom of the vial. Some clue as to whether these have been poisoned as well. If he does not see anything alarming, he bathes the areas with blisters in it - if he does find something or if there is a smell to it that shouldn't be there he asks the others for spells of healing instead.
"Friends, we not only have to do something, we have to do it quick without hesitation. This house and our things has obviously been meddled with, maybe even ourselves too. Why the evildoer did not kill us outright, I do not know. Maybe the poison is not lethal; maybe it will only slow us down or pacify us."
Ignoring the pain in his especially his arms (he thought it was the hot fire treatment he had earlier, he was feeling again) Ulf looking at the others in turn and elaborated:
"How many are we... 7? 8? I suggest we do the following:
1) Send two or three people to the shack of the mad lady - two objectives, information and supplies
2) Send two people out to scout the area to get an understanding of how everything is laid out
3) The rest move all our things out of this place to another location
4) We move Ook to another place, but not the location of our camp - I do not trust him fully yet. You may ask why I trust my own companions from the Nord Camp and the people from the Alit more and I will tell you why. They were selected and approved by powers of good nature; we have all sensed that even though we do not understand everything around them. This Ook fellow has not been approved by anyone as far as we know, but even in case he has, what's to say that someone or something didn't get to him before we did? He is out of the reach of Fygge and the other leaders. This leads me to the final point.
5) We try to get Ook to drink the water of one of our skins or eat some of our food. If he knows anything about it he will refuse to have it. If not then fine, he passed the test. Still he is the only one, who could know anything about who did it, since we were under the spell of sleep."
Ulf thinks he sees sceptisism and maybe even distrust in him from some of the others, but he has yet to play his last card. "Will it hurt us in anyway to do this plan? Not as I see it. The doer of this knows we are here and will most likely come again, so we can either wait it or them out or form a plan with the well in mind once we resettled in another place."
"Although for all we know, Ook could have made that story up - there is no way of knowing for sure yet."
Feeling ill and with blisters sending flashes of pain through his skin and flesh, Ulf moves closer to the others slowly and awkwardly. "I would like to volunteer for the mad woman quest. After all I have been mad for 40 years and counting", he ends the last part with a sincere grin on his face, which slowly turns into a pained cough. "Let's do something friends, now."

Disapointed, Zow returned to the house where everyone stood. Walking through the door, it seemed as if everyone were confused.
"This town is abandoned, I did however find a shack, and a well. The well did not smell to pleasant, I advise against drinking any water here. The shack seemed lively, I believe someone lives there. We should head there, unless someone will wake up that... Ooka, fellow and interrogate some information out of him. I recommend we all keep our gear with us at all times, at least thats what I'll do, due to the theft. You dont have to listen to me, it wont bother me at all, but If who ever lives in the shack, is still there, then I say we go over there. Sitting here wont get us anywhere" Zow annouced to all awaken memebers. He then turned to Hadrio and said: "Morning, sleep well?"
He then turned back to everyone and continued: "I am hungry, however I should not be. We either slepted for an incredibly long time, or some other strange event happened here. We should get to the bottom of it, quickly. I say we either go out and hunt for food, gather what we can, or go to the shack". Thats what Zow believed, though he did not care if people disagreed with him, he would do whatever he thought was wise. It must have been one of them, to gain an advantage on us" and meanwhile, he rapidly checked with one hand for his remaining belongings in the pockets of the robe, and especially for the particular scroll he had found. Why was he keeping it anyways?
Considering Zow's proposal, he decided to give his opinion "I would recommend we all go to the shack, and see what we can find there; afterwards, if food was not to be found in the shack, we will hunt for it prior to heading towards the well, which seems the source of all the problems, evidently"

"I can lead the way, but then split up and find us some food. If everyone agrees, then we should split each other up. Those skilled in manipulation, should go to the shack, those who hunt, should stick with me. Me and the rest of the hunters, will gather us food if we can find it. I did however find nothing in the town, we would have to explore on the outskirts of the town. Anyone else should keep an eye on Ooka, or wake him up for interrogation" Zow continued.
"I recommend those who attack with a distance come with me; indoors are no place for arrows. I need only one or 2 others, a group of 3-4 should go to the shack, and 1-2 should stay behind. I have a few pieces of meat, we can use it for a bribe, perhaps she may be hungry like us. You got some health potions or somethin'?" he inquired. He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a couple of his potions, which he crafted to be very potent, so they fit into small vials. He grabbed one of the vials -- a poison one, and examined it carefully.
It was empty. "I thank I know what happened," he said in a now wary voice that had a slight hint of panic. His muscles tenses, and he automatically went into a pseudo-battle ready stance, hand ready to grab his machete. It was an instinctual action he did when he sensed something was amiss.
He turned to Ander. "I thank you may be right, they might still be 'round here. Did anybody find anythang out of the ordinary when searchin' the house?" he said quietly. He felt almost giddy, with a mix of fear and craving for battle. Very few things scared him, but among them were hellish apparitions of Oblivion. Demonic apparitions had been the bogeymen of his town, and he could never shake the fear of them.
"In any case, I'm thankin' it'd be best to get the hell outta here as soon as possible. Don't get my wrong, I'm a pro-fessional head-bussa if you know what I'm sayin'. But Daedra can be strong as hell, and I ain't got no magics that could do Daedra any harm." He looked at his scabbarded machete, knowing Adamanitum was among the metals that Daedra were vulnerable to in the event that he had to let loose his rage. "So, if somebody wanna go do som'n, if somebody need a muscle or want some backup checkin' the luny toon over at the shack, I'm all for that. Just as long as I keep movin'."
He thought for a moment about his dark voodo/necromancy secret, his expression blank and absorbed. After a while, he came up with an idea. "By the way, just wonderin' Zow, did you find any dead bodies of townspeeps or nothin' while you were out scouting?"

Ander seemed flustered for these two choices "I actually do not fit in any of the paths I can take" he admitted, much to his embarrasment "Nonetheless, I will be going with you, Zow, since you are the one who united us in the first place. I suggest we get moving quickly, for our enemy is ahead of us: one step ahead at every opportunity, it seems"

Ulf nodded to Ander, Hadrio and Zow. "Since we four are ready to go, let us go now. I have my ways with mad people and have a few tricks in my spellbook that might help out."
"Garrick, Ismail and Wulfgar stay here and get that Ook under guard. Also get ready to move with haste."
"Do you have one more in your group? In that case, if he is good with a bow, he should join you in the hunt. I myself am no hunter, so I will head for the shack and return here to help out afterwards."
"We should meet here after and get going. If anything happen before, meet at the shack. If that place is not safe, meet on the nearest and biggest hill", Ulf spoke quickly as he gathered his gear and moved to get out of the door.
Turning to Hadrio he said: "Tis alrigth son, I treated it already.. if the restore potion is not also contaminated that is...".
"Be safe", he turned and said to the 3 companions from the Nord Camp.

Zow turned to Ander and said: "A battlemage, hunt? I do not know how you would help, but if you believe so, then ignore my criticism".
He turned to Hadrio, and reached in his containter/bag, and pulled out 2 pieces of meat then said: "Here, I take it you'll be going to the shack, you might find these useful. And no I did not find anything out of the ordinary, except the fact the town lacks any people. Perhaps the strange water, chased them all away. I will show you the way, but I do believe you need one other."
Zow looked behind him and continued: "We should keep our voices down, I do not trust Ooka, and thus we should not let him in on everything we do. If you can grab one other, then we can proceed. Oh yes another thing, anyone in the group that are to go to the shack, good at running? If anything strange at all happens within the shack, you'll need a messanger to find me and Ander, so we can assist. To find us, use the sun's reflection on your weapon, to signal us, and we will signal back. If Ander is not skilled in hunting, he can be my spotter, and watch out for the signal, and of course anything else".
Zow waited for another to join with the team going to the shack.

Ulf looked at the others: "I will take care of Ook now together with my companions, we already searched the house, there seems to be nothing here but it's hard to know for certain. We can take another spin while we talk with Ook and prepare to leave."
"Zow and Ander, say you go to the shack to investigate and signal back if there seems to be no danger - just like you said with the blade. Then you go hunt and we go there all of us when ready. We will pull Ook along and keep him quiet and very immobile just incase..."
"Let's make haste before the weird creature awakens.. if he is asleep at all. If you would like a fire or magic shield before going just tell me. I will wait here at the door to look for your signal."
Ulf looked at his blisters and treated them with some small herbs.

Darian woke rested and alert. He wasn’t given to sleeping deeply as it made him feel vulnerable, and being surprised by Wulfgar’s shouts reminded him of this.
After hearing the basics of what was going on, Darian quickly grabbed his belongings and joined the others down stairs. He listened intently as job assignments were handed out.
“Zow.” He spoke up to get his party leader’s attention. “I’ve been told that I’m as talented with my tongue as I am with my bow. So I could help you on the hunt or deal with the crazy hag, whichever you prefer.”
As much out of habit as well as anything else, Darian pulled his bow from his back and gave the string a tug and checked his Wakizashi to insure that everything was ready.
“Hadrio,” he began, as everyone made ready to head out, “I’ve traveled considerably in my life though I can’t recall ever meeting anyone with your peculiar accent.” He paused for a moment and considered his companion. “Where do you hail from?”

Zow completed the map of the town, and left it in a noticable area for the other members to find, also leaving a note on the back that reads:
"Someone should stay behind, and 'survey' the house"
Zow then moved out the door, leading both groups to the shack he found. He scouted around the shack looking for anything odd, perhaps a trap.
"This is it, keep on your toes, and your weapons ready, we dont know what to expect. Remeber if you need any assistance, to signal in so me and Ander will come to support. The three of you should do fine, but we need to be catious when ignorant" Zow annouced to the members. And with that he was off, to go hunt.
With Ander, Zow began to scout around the outskirts of town looking for any kind of food; animal or otherwise. He placed on his newly updated ghillie suit, to blend in more, and began to hunt.

Ulf looked at them go, away from the shack. Methinks we have been lucky, they're nice chaps the laddies - and dedicated too.
Clouds were gathering overhead; seemed like they would be getting a bit of a breeze soon.
Ulf focused his thoughts and readied a strong Calm humanoid spell from the school of illusion. His plan was not to knock the door, but to go straight in. If the woman was mad, she could be going crazy before they even got in. "Better to confront outright and say sorry for the intrusion, if that is what it takes."
When the others were ready they signalled to the group at the arrival house that they were going in. Ulf did a step by step plan to maximize the succes in his oppinion:
1) Open door (with open spell, lockpick or force if necessary)
2) Step in as quietly as possible and localize the woman, if there was such in there
3) Use as articulated words as possible to throw her off her feet, but also level with her using his own knowledge of what it means to be partly insane (40 years experience in that)
4) Get as much information out of her with peacefull means - using a charm spell if needed.
Depending on the outcome:
- If succesfull leave for the house again to get all the others out of there.
- If not, find out what might level the chance of success.
- If anything in there is hostile, we will have to find out what to do.
If something unforseen happen, getting back to the house and join with the others is highest priority, next is signalling or finding Zow and companion(s).
(EDIT: OOC: this post goes after Dew_Locs, and this next section is reply to him)
"Methinks we should not startle or scare a mad woman, if she is indeed the owner of this house. Better be polite but have a backup plan that is brute force. We can always claim to be searching for a thief, deadra or rats", Ulf chuckled a bit.
Ulf took a deep breath and tried the door.

Hadrio flashed a twisted, toothy smile at Darian. "Ain't you ever been to Taneth?" he asked. "South side of Hammerfell. That's my home..." Hadrio paused. "I ain't been there for so long..." he said, his voice trailing off. He closed his eyes and his head sank, deep in painful memory. He tried to hold back tears.
He took his bandana out of his back pocket and putting it on his head. It was pale blue, but strangely it seemed to change to grey-brown when the lighting changed. Though it looked to be of standard cloth, it had a very faint metallic gleam when light hit it at certain angles.
The air was damp and cold; it appeared a storm was approaching, as the sky became a dark gray with looming clouds. He took to the front, because at 6'6'' and 234 lbs of chiseled ebony, he was easily the largest; also, he was slightly arrogant. He could practically feel the eyes of his companions on his tree of scars he bore on his back.
When they arrived, he stepped back and let Ulf take the lead.

The others' plan sounded sensible, so Wulfgar saw no reason to interfere with their planning. Seeing that he was equally unable to go hunting with bow and arrow as he had no talent with words, he was quite comfortable with the task of keeping an eye on Ook and the house.
Checking that Ismail and Garrick were staying inside, he left the house for a few minutes - this would also give him the opportunity of getting a first impression of where they actually were. [OOC: you know for what - next part under the assumption that nothing special happens, otherwise I'll edit the post].
On his return, he spoke to his two remaining companions.
"Well, here we are now - and thinking that things couldn't get more mysterious, I have been proved wrong again this night. I'd suggest that two of us remain here and keep watch, while one of us will have a closer look around the house ... if you agree, anyone who'd volunteer?"

THE HAUNTED WELL UPDATE 3[b]
OOC> There are no traps around the house or the village, nor is there any possible source of food. Every animal seems to have fled the area and the plants look sere and withered. Any examination of Ook would show he could not have inflicted his own wounds.
On Topic
The village is one main street comprising tavern, council office, two shops and about a dozen houses. A crossing road in the centre leads to another three houses and a school. The well is at the central point of the crossroads and you must pass it to reach the shack. It exudes a very unpleasant aura.
You enter the hut where a very old Nord woman is sitting at a table. She is so old she has only a few wisps of hair on her head and her eyes are sunken in and the pale blue of the blind. She is incredibly frail.
Her ears work and her voice although high pitched with age is clear enough.
"It is to be hoped you can fetch the food from my storehouse. I am too weak to move and my helpers have run away and left me."
She sniffs - someone has food but - what! You have come to poison me? What have I done to you?"
As she says this Zow notices he has not been feeling to well since he touched his rations. He suddenly gasps and collapses to the floor in agony.
Meanwhile back in the house Ook has recovered enough to climb out of his hammock.

Quite frustrtated at what just happened, Garrick slams his armored fist into a doorpost and curses loudly in Altmeric. He looked at Wulfgar and Ismail slightly apologetic and shook his head. "Sorry, friends, it is just that this is not how it is supposed to go. How I feel it is supposed to go, at least," Garrick said, looking a bit helpless.
If something happened to either group, it could be well too late for the others to offer help. Two on a hunt, three in a hut and three here with Ook. A sensible man would have suggested to split up in two parties of four. Then again, a sensible man would have told the others what happened to Ook, what Ook had said and known that Ook was not in any condition to travel now, as his body was recuperating from a near-death experience. Without much tact, Garrick told these thoughts to his companions, clearly wanting to air what was on his mind.
Just as he was discussing their guide, he came down from his resting place. Garrick smiled calmly at him and inquired, "How are you feeling Ook? I am certain I could offer you another spell to help you back up further? However, I must inform you that the others have left to hunt and talk with the mad woman you spoke of. They do not trust you, I fear, but I do and I will let them no that you are not the guilty party here."
"However, I do not have any means of detecting enchantments, as you suggested and my two companions here are warriors by training. Perhaps you could help me out? There seems to be a sinister force at work and I do not trust even my own potions, which I why I didn't pour one down your throat before. My only other concern is, if we head down into well, will you be able to take care of yourself? Do we need to leave some food and supplies for you?"
After those words, Garrick opened one of his ingredient bags and sniffed the air above it, hoping he would at least be able to make new potions, provided that his current ones were tainted somehow.
Another thing came to his mind and he spoke it immediately, "Wulfgar, Ismail, gather 'round, I would like to tell you of the dream I had." And so, Garrick told the two warriors how he remembered the dream and how it felt like he had been the persona of the Vampire King. He concluded with the words, "That is all I know for now... Perhaps more will come once we rest again, but I cannot be sure. The only I am sure of, is the fact that I am no longer a monster, I am who you know me as and I do not consider myself to be any different just because I may have been someone else in the past. Remember what I said? It isn't your past deeds that are important, but what you learn of them."

Mar 11 2006, 12:54 PM
After thinking things over for a moment, Wulfgar replied: "What you have told about that dream - which apparently was only partly a dream, but also some kind of memory - is as interesting as it is disturbing. However, I can recognize nothing vampiric about you, and there are matters more urgent than digging into your past. While we should not forget about this, we should first focus on the tasks that are awaiting us here.
I appreciate your care for Ook, but he is not the only one here relying on provisions. So far we have found nothing to eat in this house, and all the food and drink we have had with us seems to be tainted in some way," saying this, he took off his waterskin and pouch and tossed them onto a nearby table with a disgusted look on his face "and when I was just outside, the environment seemed unnaturally lifeless. I haven't seen a single animal, and only withered plants. What I want to say is that we rely on food just as much as Ook if we want to see any chance of getting through this mess. As for me, I haven't eaten a decent meal in days, and I do think that I have been in a better condition already in my life.
From what you have told us right now, I would say that we have sufficient reason to trust Ook. He has told us that apart from that mad woman he is the only other living person in this village, so if there is anyone who knows the surrounding area at least a bit, it is him, and his odd behaviour should not distract our view from the fact that we will rely heavily on all the help he can provide to us."

They entered the shack and Ulf noticed the old Nord woman sitting at a table. By the sabre-toothed tiger, I hope she is still alive.
"Greetings good lady, I am Ulf, one of your kin, and we are here to help and assist in whichever way possible", Ulf tried. "We have just arrived here and already all our water has been contaminated and our food possible too, by whom we do not know."
The old Nord woman said: "It is to be hoped you can fetch the food from my storehouse. I am too weak to move and my helpers have run away and left me."
Feeling the enticement of the others by the word "food", he quickly answered in agreement: "That is to be hoped for all our sakes; we will do what we can, you have my word of honour."
The old woman had then sniffed and said: "someone has food but - what! You have come to poison me? What have I done to you?"
Zow suddenly gasped and collapsed to the floor.
"The rations! Do not even touch them friends, they have clearly been contaminated too!", he cried. Turning to the woman he offered: "Beg your pardon mlady, but it is not we who are poisoning our own food and drink. This poor man must have merely touched his contaminated rations and now suffers from it. I myself have blisters from merely washing my hands. We're desperately in need of clean water, do you know where do find this if anywhere?"
Ulf turned his attention back to Zow, who was in deep pain it seemed, his white hair added well to the surrealism. "Let me help you Zow", Ulf reeled and found a potion of cure poison in his pack and sniffed like the old lady had just done. Comparing the smell to the smell of the rations as well as his experience with the healing potion he would aid Zow with this if he let him.

Then he remembered that all their provisions had been tampered with, so he thew the sack at the wall in disgust. Spores flew from the sack when it collided with the wooden wall.
"Your storehouse?" he inquired. "Where's that at? You gat a key for it or som'n, or you gonna make me do it the old-fashioned way?" he inquired, eying his nailed club at his side.

Noticing Hadrio's rash behaviour Ulf shuddered. My oh my these folks are different, maybe I should have stayed at the house with Garrick, Wulfgar and Ismail. I hope they are better off. Ulf suddenly realised it seemed foolish to him to have just left them there. Why did I do that?
Having to act stemmed his thoughts about his own strange behaviour lately. "Hadrio, do not throw away what is merely broken if it can be fixed. Maybe we can cleanse the food and water from this poison. For all we know, it could be the only food we have...". Ulf looked back at the woman. "The storehouse Mlady, where is it and what is there?"
Feeling immensely dehydrated Ulf's mouth and throat felt like paper. Water, or anything.. maybe I can just drink a potion.. or the brandy? Ulf started to sniff everything he had of liquid content.

It is clear there was some contact poison on the food. Who could have put it there?
The old woman says: "If you fetch me food you may take a little for yourselves. I do not like the idle threats of your rude friend but I know it to be a time of great stress and stress can change a character. I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he would not steal from an apparently helpless old crone. But keep your demands reasonable or you will be leaving me to starve. Ander barely had time to react when Zow fell down, poisoned as he was with the food "Oh dear. I think I might be putting the rest in danger, since they are looking me..." he lamented in a whisper, while trying to bring Zow back to his senses.
After Zow got better and managed to walk on his own, Ander kept following him, distracted by his own dreadful thoughts about the cause for the poisoning.
Once they got back to the house, he commented softly "I believe that the old lady has something to do with the poisoning. Who else could have done it? And besides, is it not true that she is supposed to be out of her mind?" to the others, trying to see if he can guess some more about the matter.

Ulf looked in despair as Hadrio collapsed. Where did all this poison come from???
Not giving a hoot about food anymore and since the old lady did not mention anything about water, Ulf collected all his energy into one last determined effort to use every bit of his experience with alchemy to determine what was poisoned in his own pack (potions, skin with brandy) and what kind of poison was used to contaminate the food and drink, without touching anything or tasting it of course.
Mad woman?! I know madness and insanity when I see it and she looks and sounds neither. Again something that talks against what Ook has been saying. I should go there and warn the others, but what about the old `mad´ lady...?
In a moment of clarity, Ulf turned to the old woman: "I thank you for your trust in us mlady. Please excuse the young laddie, who uttered those words, I fear he is loosing his mind due to the poison. I will walk him and the others outside, where I can treat them better, and then we will be right back here to aid you after the treatment."
With that he helped Hadrio to his feet and with his staff aiding his balance, he followed him back outside.
We better start working more together, if we want to come out alive...
Ulf felt more and more spent.

ooc. I agree that we need to work more together and if I have read everything correctly it looks like everyone is headed back to the house that we were transported to. I think though that something has been overlooked here. My post will be made shortly.
Darian looked at Hadrio with mild disgust as his companions left the shack. He didn’t now what the hotheaded fool was trying to prove by strong-arming the old woman and it reminded him of the cowardly acts he’s seen in some towns where gangs of thugs worked to extort protection monies from local shop owners. He let Ulf take the man outside as he took a seat near the old woman, keeping his back to the wall and an eye where he could watch the door and windows. A hand was kept near his blade just in case.
“Lady.” Darian began in earnest. “Your hospitality is much appreciated and I regret my companions’ lack of manners.” From his vantage point at the table Darian surveyed the shack and its contents noting the location of the cellar door, any noticeable valuables and supplies that could help on this quest. “We only have the slightest bits of information about what has happened in this region and are hungry for more.” His voice took a softer tone. “My name is Darian Embershot; what might your name be good woman and would you be able to enlighten me more as to what has happened here?”
Darian figured that this was a better way to wait for his friends return to the shack rather than going into the cellar alone. Besides, it may be some time before he gets another chance at civilized conversation.

The old woman mutters to herself. "They call me mad you know because I am so old and ugly. But what has madness to do with looks? Do you know why I alone remain here? Because I alone know a second way into the well and I also know that someday there will be those who need to find that way. Are you they? I cannot tell. But I do know this. I have left two tiny pieces of my former skill - oh yes I was a great mage millennia ago. The first is that I can sense movement for a great distance. Nothing and no one stirred here except your party in the last three days."
She moves her hands. "I cannot see you so perhaps you mean to try to kill me. It would be foolish. I have a protection around me that would slay any who tried instantly including any foolish daedra as some have found out already. You are fortunate none did try to harm me or your party would already be fewer in numbers. But what I said about not being able to fetch my own food is true. If you bring me some food I will tell you the way to get into the well that is not straight down from the top! Won't you walk into my cellar?"

[OOC] Am I healed? Well if so: [/OOC]
Zow standing by the front door, leaning up against the wall began to speak out to the women: (even though he did not want to) "We had some strange activity earlier. I'm sure you had sensed it, do you know anything about it, perhaps when we first arrived here? Did 'they' come here to this place aswell?"
"Pardon my sudden questioning, but I'm sure you will understand why I am to be frank" He then paused and thought about the comment the old lady said before about her madness, then continued: "If they think you are mad, perhaps they fear you, and use 'madness' as an excuse" Zow muttered to the women, but did not trust her, nor think she could NOT be mad. Her sudden invite to her cellar concerned him.
"The food you need, its in the cellar? How are you not able to get it? I understand your blind but have you forgotten the way as well?" Zow questioned the old women.
He kept thinking about the cellar, he would wait for the others before making any moves. This could be a trap afterall, and Zow had much experience from others trying to kill him in similar ways. This is why he did not want to go in the shack in the first place, and would have preferred to stay outside.
He kept still, watching over the old women.
