Full Version: Loot Storage

I found a really neat trick, if you have trouble storing your loot. If you find you are running out of space, the simplest thing is to find the store where you will sell all of your stuff, and drop it on the floor. I often load everything from my crates in Balmora, in front of the guilds, and cast recall to go to the store, personally either in Mournhold at the Armorer, or to the Scamp in Caldera(buys your stuff for what its price is, unless it is damaged). Then drop everything on the floor and leave the building, when you reenter, there should be a bag sitting on the floor, it is the overflow loot bag, and while you cannot place things in it, when you place stuff next to it, the stuff should go into the bag when you leave the building. Then when you need cash fast, just go and sell something. I found that this made getting rich easy. biggrin.gif

Okay, good tip for the people who didn't know it, but why is that poll up there?
Stampede
Hi there, welcome to the forums. Thank you for your advice...though I am confused as to what your post has to do with the actual poll?

I am only a simple moderator after all. sad.gif
Killians5
I actually did not know that.....i put my loot in the house redoran headquarters on the floor and it did not do that is it only at a shop?
Mercbird
I think he just likes to try out stuff Stamp, I havent managed to think up a suitable topic on wich to vent my burning desire to use the poll button. biggrin.gif
Zadestar
The poll is there partly because I like them, and because I am genuinly interested in what people like better, unfortunately it is at a tie. In response to whether it is only in shops, no, I dropped my stuff in Fort Frostmoon, in the General quarters, and it all went in the bag. Try dropping more than 5 items at once. I play GOTY on xbox, so might only work for me.
Mercbird
meh, I've never seen that happen in the GOTY pc game, and I tend to dump stuff I want to sell off in all my favourite stores in anticipation of their coffers filling up again, and everytime I stumble over all the crap strewn over the floors.

*sigh* thats what happens when you have a 'leave nothing behind' philosophy sad.gif
Adras
Yay, I broke the tie! Anyways, I have heard about that, as well as the "Wait 24 hours and the merchant's gold will respawn" and there was something about waiting 72 hours ingame and the game resets certain things to avoid too many things getting going on at the same time. I have not yet tried the loot bag trick, but I should some time.
M'Aqui
M'Aqui knows about the Overflow Loot Bag, and knows that it will only appear if you put a lot of items on the floor in a room.

M'Aqui also prefers no armor. M'Aqui is good like that.
Zadestar
Yah, I think that you need like aton of stuff to get the bag to appear, in my new file I tried to get the bag to appear, but it didnt. I think you need a certain weight of stuff or something, or it just randomly happens. Does anyone know where Rethan manor is? I bought it, but I can't find it.
Malchik
Rethan Manor is one of the three great house strongholds. You can't buy it as such (unless in a mod perhaps). Walk south out of Balmora along the river past the shulk egg mine and you'll arrive at it. If you arrive at the coast you've gone too far.
Marxist ßastard
You bought the deed to the land, and have not initiated the building of any structure on it with your purchase -- you also still need to have the Duke's approval for the land deed to be at all legitimate.

You cannot get the Duke's approval, and thus cannot have the manor built (or take possession of the manor legally if it is already there) if you are not a member of House Hlaalu, or are not of a high enough rank to receive their endorsement (you will get the details on this if you ask for advancement once you receive the required rank).

If you refuse to join a house, or are already in one other than Hlaalu, you have just, in effect, bought a very expensive piece of paper. In the latter scenario, however, your house will be able to build a different stronghold for you (and in doing so, a structure will also be erected at Rethan Manor for its Hlaalu inhabitants), and you may eventually be given the quest to exterminate the current residents of Rethan Manor, meaning that you can do whatever you want with the place.
