An adventure that results in receiving a small dragon companion, Tolarn. Tolarn starts at level 8, he advances by combat, leveling up. His health increases by 10 for every level he gains. Every five levels (1st at level 13 for example) he gets an increase in not only health but also melee damage and magic defense. You can see this by using his commands "Check Attack" and "Check Defense".
