Both are either thieves or a "ranger" type class. I prefer stealth, no surprise there.

What's in a name? That which we call a rose... I take mine from names I invent in my stories. When I am testing mods for others and have to start with new characters I tend to be very inventive and call them 'me'. But one can always name them something that reflects on the speaker. So the NPCs end up saying 'Ah, how clever you are, what can I do for you?' etc.

I haven't really thought about it yet. Waiting to see what face customisations and such the races have (aka, can I make Dark Elves look good?), then I'll decide what race I'm going to be... then I can finally decide on a name. Going to end up spending ages at chargen as per usual...

Dragorn, its always Dragorn. I to hate coming up with names, and any new names always come out sounding odd or wierd. I don't know what name I would use for a female character, though.

For my first character I'll use the name Leahcim...he'll be a ranger of an unknown race (I haven't decided. My Battlemage will be Ilahmec. The reasons are in the names.

Oh ja, I was thinking of something along the lines of Artemis for my first Oblivion character, but I'll have to see her face first ... and if she can use a bow. I generally tend towards goddess names hehe

My character will be named Jackathyn (pronounced ya-ka-theene, mwahaha), after a character I've been writing about. However, this may depend on the character face creation system- in order to faithfully recreate him, I have to put a great big scar across his face, take out one of his eyes, change his complexion so he looks somewhere between the Dark Elves and Wood Elves (he's supposed to be a halfbreed between Forest and Dark elves, but not the kinds available in Morrowind so that'll be a challenge) and shoulder-length red hair.

I hope I can at least get close with that. Am I asking too much of the creation system, I wonder? I haven't seen any previews of it yet.

I've always used Rukh for my main characer, usually with some sort of jibberish along with it. Have since 95' for all my role playing and I've never seen it used by anyoen else.

Fighter type character- Sir Cecil (After playing Final Fantasy 4 I've named pretty much everybody Cecil)

Mage type character- Magus (Not only the coolest mage of all time from the illustrious Chrono Trigger)

Stealth type character- Shenk or possibly Edge which ever one suits the look of the character I create.

M'Aqui's name will be S'Virr.

He thats what I was thinking. My first MW character was a Kajiit called Sparrowhawk. A cat named after a bird, you say? Well, theres more to it than that (a lump o' Moonsugar to whoever knows where its from... )

Anyway, back on topic, I have three possibilities:
Utherdoul - (my name of choice) if its a Male thief / rogue / assassin
Adonathiel - (my cross-gender name o.O)
Kaashlikau - My Dunmer scout / ranger (he's an old feller - preferably with a white beardy!)

Names are so important with RPG characters - they make the character into less of a bunch of pixels, more of an identifiable entity. Or something ) I like to keep my names regular.

And I don't mean with prune juice.

One of my fave things about TES games is that there are no other players, so you don't have to worry about any other people having/stealing your name like in MMOs.

Having said that, I'll probably name my first character Ahrael. He'll most likely be a Paladin-type character.

I'm thinking either Ragnos or Macros for my all-powerful mage.

I must be the only silly person here...

I am always Dunmer and I always use one of two names. The first, which I sometimes use for first characters, but I mainly use it for online games now, is my name, Adras. The second is one that I came up with (any other refrences on the internet are false - try searching for it in quotes!) and it is Zanth'ur Sebtheim. If Oblivion asks for a last name I will include it, however, I normally just use the first name.

I usually fiddle with online name generators to get a name I like. Just search for "name generator" or "elven name generator" etc (without quotes) and you'll get a million plus one hits
I'm currently leaning towards using a Dark Elf female with the name La'Ezara. I generated the name with my favourite generator, and a javascript diceroller on another site. It includes the meaning of the syllables though I don't know what system/world they use. La'Ezara means night-lightning and it's cheezy enough for a stealth character

I only use my online nick (Tubal) rarely, and usually in games where you don't really have much of a personality, Black & White for example.

My High Elf custom Warlock will be Killian Rhedd.
