Full Version: Giving A Quest A Title

We're all familiar with how the quests can be organised in our journals with spiffy titles such as "Larrius Varro tells a little story" or "Mages Guild: Manwe's Dues". Stuff like that.

I'm making a mod with a number of quests that isn't dependent on Trib' or Bloodmoon. I've probably poked and prodded the Dialog window long enough to go mad...

But where do you enter the titles of quests!?

So far, all I can find are journal entries, greets, and topical dialogue. Nothing at all explains where the titles given to quests are entered... or hidden.

Can someone here tell me?

Go to the journals tab and create a new journal ID for your quest. Then add your quest title in the list of entries for that journal, and tick the 'quest name' box in the conditions.

Quest names were only added in Tribunal (and Bloodmoon). It would be useless to add one in if you don't require either expansion.

My best advice would be to make a seperate plugin with all the quest name entries, and then instruct Tribunal/Bloodmoon users to add them in.

I'm talking about Vanilla Morrowind. More precisely, what shows up on the "Quests" tab/submenu of your journal. Those titles. Or names. Or whatever the magic term is.

They must be hidden somewhere!

I don't believe there is a "quest tab" in vanilla Morrowind.

Looks like the leftie is right (couldn't resist). It's been so long since I played vanilla Morrowind, I'd clean forgotten that quest titling simply didn't exist in it!

Meesa sooo stupid. blush.gif
