I wanted to know where everyone's Houses are and which ones are the best in Morrowind.........
San_Sebastian
I think the best place for a house would be Balmora, 'cause it's kind of in middle of everything. I've built my own house there with the construction set. Nerano manor is pretty good for new characters.

If you're startin' out, there's always St Delyn Waist North. North-One for the darker vibe (once you exorcise that Ancestor Guardian) or North-Two for something more cosy. Yeah, eventually you'll have more loot than you can stand, but it'll do until your stronghold is built. Besides, it ain't Balmora, which is a bonus. I'm sick of that place.

As third party mods go, I really like The Latest, Greatest Housing Mod Gold's Infinity Warehouse.

*pauses*

Say, does the Legion ever build you a stronghold if you get advanced enough? (Oh jeez, not another mod idea...)
San_Sebastian
Yeah, I know Balmora can be kind of boring at times, but fast travel is great, and it's... well... not Vivec. Vivec's too big for me, I guess... rolleyes.gif

Oh yeah, no, the legion doesn't build you anything... sadly. An own castle would be nice...

Yeah, that's a very good mod. I just finished it's main quest meself actually, very good stuff.

My favorite house has to be....hmm. Hlaalu stuff, I find that it's the best architecture for houses, so my answer is: Anything Hlaalu.

I love the Redoran style, I always feel like a sellout if I go Hlaalu, but I hate Bal Isra, so I just built myself a house "under scar" to fit into an empty wall in the Redoran council hall.
Or if I feel nasty I go and evict 'Ball of Venim's wife and retainers after the duel in the main quest and live there.
But I like keeping the Hlaalu estate as a holiday home cause of the great view.
After murdering all the idiot retainers there of course.

And then theres the hunting lodge I keep in Vos for all those Grazelands hunting trips (Velothi style), and the haunted flat in Vivec as my town house, but generally I prefer using Vivec Flat by Occam for that.

I like the latest greatest housing mod but I tend to edit the interiors somewhat and then eventually manage to vulk it up, and delete. And I havent found a nicer flat than Vivec flat and certainly dont want a whole canton to myself.

Made a 'visitiors quarters' for myself in Fort Frostmoth as well, as a small base station , cause Im scared of the weird Spriggans at night. wink.gif

And theres Rains Hand's Hall, beautiful.
Gisburne
My favourite house is the House of Mystery in the "Floating City" mod. I've got mannequins in the display room that I can dress up with armor. I have the mannequins dressed with Daedric, Ordinator, High Ordinator, Royal guard, Ebony and Dark Brotherhood armor and I've got some cool weapons from various mods on display there.
I wish i could post a screenshot of it here but for some reason I cannot take screenshots despite changing my Morrowind.ini file so I can do so.

I'm accully building my own house mod right now, I'm placeing it just west of vivec, It's a dwemer house since I liked the bridge I just went for that. I just hav ethe outside done and I'm still figureing out the inside. But before this mod I just found an empty spot to place my stuff and never really had a home for my caracter.

My last character's main house was the Ald-ruhn Home mod by Lucas. It's a big Redoran style home next to the silt strider in Ald'ruhn. It has a large armory with display space for your weapons and armor. There are library and alchemy areas and a big secret study and bedroom with a hidden entrance.
He was also using his stronghold at Bal Isra when he had to get away from it all.

My current character is using the Pelagiad Farm House mod by Heremod Production. It's a small, two-story house just off the main street in Pelagiad. It's in the same style as the rest of the town. There isn't much display space but Diann doesn't use armor or collect weapons anyway. The house has a very pretty walled garden for relaxing in. It also has a small stable. Now I have to find some pets to live in the stable. wink.gif

I moved into Dura gra-Bol's house after I killed him/her (not sure about Dura's gender) for the Fighter's Guild. The chest by the bed holds alot, but I think I have it full now.

I wish I could put in mods .. but I'm a bit wary since for some reason Morrowind crashes randomly on my pc for no reason.

But for housing ... erm I just enter a random house, knock off the people in it ... and home sweet home! laugh.gif

Ya, i know what you mean when you say that Morowind crashes at random, it does the same for me to, i KINDA fixed it by "un-installing" then "re-installing" it doesnt crash anymore, however i did lose all of my progress up until that point, which kinda pi**ed me off

You see, I have to agree with San, just simply because its the truth, Balmora is the center of everything really... plus it has BOTH Silt Strider and Mage Guild, so does ald'rhun... where I lived... I had the house with the freaky red lit shrine for a sub-basement... but considering each time I play this game I always try to play a little differently; for instance... I love the whole idea of a trap door for a room, in Pelagiad, some of the houses have a trap door that lead into where the bedroom and everything is, now mind you these are smaller houses,... but I'm not much of a packrat or anything so its cozy tongue.gif... I once lived on the streets of Balmora however hahha taht was interesting... Just used all the storage bins with my items tongue.gif... except I'd always forget waht was where happy.gif

I belong to house redoran, got all the bells and whistles to my stronghold prior to killing the heads of the hlaalu and telvanni strongholds. now i have all three strongholds fully upgraded and ready to use as good summer homes for my char.
Killians5
I like the idea of taking one of those 2 big houses right outside of vivec (one of them has a woman standing outside talking about the bull netchs and 2 orcs on the inside....anyone know if those npc's have any missions or anything to do with missions or can i just kill them all and have a new home?
Povuholo
I guess people like Balmora so much because it got:
Transport: Mages guild and silt strider
Factions: Mages and fighters guild, great house hlaalu and i'm not sure but i thought there was morag tong as well.
Quests: Well all the guild quests ofcourse, but also a big part of the main quest!

It just... has something. The only bad things about this is that modders often place their mods in balmora. Go to rpgplanet, and search for description: balmora. I believe you get around 20 pages.

I like tel uvirith with the uvirith inside (combination of uvirith unleashed and another one) mod.
Major Maxillary
I just finished making my own bunker outside of Balmora, actually. Of course, I can easily move it anywhere I want. because I'm awesome.
M'Aqui
M'Aqui doesn't have much loot, or a house. M'Aqui is quite contempt with just his boat and his fishing rod.
Zadestar
Easily Dura-gra Bol's house, I filled the house with candles and lamps, and now I can go in there and not be afraid of the dark anymore. I have like 50 in there, and if houses could burn down, my house would have been gone a few days ago. But I don't keep anything but lights there, I keep stuff to sell at the store on the floor, and my alchemy stuff on my pack rat in mournhold. wacko.gif
