Welcome to 2006 at TESSource.net I hope everyone had a fun yet safe time.
2006 is going to be the year for gaming as far as I'm concerned as we see the launch of Oblivion (Bethesda willing) plus a myriad of other good looking games including Star Wars: Empire at War, Battle for Middle-Earth 2, Gothic 3 plus a few possible releases such as Fallout 3 (also being developed by Bethesda), S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Dark Messiah of Might & Magic and Duke Nukem Forever. Wait...Duke Nukem Forever? Ba ha ha ha. *cough*.
Here's to the good times in 2005 and for many more in 2006. *Raises glass*

Glug!

Cheers!

Nice one Malchik. Good luck with those.

And yes, 2006 does look a brighter year for gaming. FF12 may even finally get released towards the end of the year! Although I'm not sure I like what they've done with the gameplay. As for DoA4, well... we all know it'll be May 2007. They're just kidding around at the moment. Just glad I'm not one of the fans waiting for it!
Either way, maybe this year will make up for the relatively slow 2005.

Yes, it will be a good year. Unfortunately the start of my 2006 wasn't so good. Family issues..
But i'm sure this will be a great year, just as all the others. Ups and downs, hopefully more ups.

Oh yes, indeed, 2006 will be grand. PCGamer managed to point out no less than 50 amazing games due for release this year, the first on their list was of course Oblivion.

With the rather poor start to the Xbox 360 (every game I've played in the shops has been pitiful, there, I said it) and nothing really threatening to "kill the PC" this year, it's going to be another excellent year for us proper gamers. S.T.A.L.K.E.R still looks fantastic (if they ever get it out the door), Oblivion will take RPGs to even greater heights (maybe also Neverwinter Nights 2, but I dunno when that's supposed to be out) and God willing the new Operation Flashpoint game (or whatever BI decide to call it) will give the FPS genre the kick up the ass it needs. Not to mention Supreme Commander and Spawn (again, God and Jebus willing).
I predict a year of flourishing sales, unfortunate dumbing down for the console kiddies, and a couple of (hopefully) innovative titles slipping under the door and selling well. Hurrah

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s gonna be pretty good but if Duke comes out anytime soon it will probably be using the Doom 3 engine. But I'm most looking forward to Oblivion, Titan's Quest, The Witcher, Mage Knight: Apocalypse, and Neverwinter Nights 2.

DALLAS - The "Star Trek" series, now relegated to video rentals and television reruns, plans to beam up some new video games later this year.
In an exclusive licensing deal announced this week with CBS Corp.'s CBS Communications Group, Bethesda Softworks LLC will publish Trek games for consoles, handheld systems and personal computers. Terms weren't disclosed.
Rockville, Md.-based Bethesda's first title will be "Star Trek: Legacy," where gamers can orchestrate space battles as a Starfleet admiral. A second game for handheld systems will let players control either Federation or Klingon forces.
Both are scheduled for release in September to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the franchise that introduced pointy-eared Vulcans and photon torpedoes.
2006 is truly year of the gamer, rejoice as we revel in our holy year!
