I just do a lot of listening on the official forums, Pete Hines told that lot yesterday that he'd do an update today.

Hmm not bad. ^^ Not sure I like it as much as the TES III title music though. This one sounds a little bit too much like something from LotR to me. grin.gif Not that that's a bad thing... it just doesn't sound particularly original. But I daresay it'll grow on me.

I did a quick poll among family members within yelling distance, to find out what the title music reminded everyone of.

Me: 'lol, reminds me of Conan the Barbarian'

Older son: 'Conan the Barbarian or some film like that'

Younger son: 'Pirates of the Caribbean!'

Damien: 'meow'

Much prefer the original Morrowind music. It starts off slow, and hits an epic note towards the end. It sort of defines the Morrowind experience. This Oblivion music sounds tacky and fast paced.

Edited to include that new interview.

When they talk about radiant ai in that interview they keep on talking about "1500" npc's.

So they gave it a 500 boost? shocked.gif

sounds more like they rounded it up a little, while they rounded it down first.

Theta and switch: Yes i found the music a bit Pirates of the caribean/lord of the rings like too.

It could be that the good old morrowind music is still in it. In that 20 minute gameplay movie, at the start just before they press new game, you hear the morrowind theme. Ofcourse it's 6 months old (or even older) so it could be they just used it because they didn't have anything else yet, and that they'll replace it with this new song now.

Actually, the music of the demo had some slight differences from Morrowind title in adaptation and I bet they haven't done those changes for nothing... Also, wouldn't the new track be a bit "aggressive" for a starting music?
Povuholo
would be a nice fighting music

That's what I thought. I liked the title theme that they used in the 20 minute demo personally. That new one is definitely more of a battle theme than a title theme... title themes need to be more passive. I've listened to it like 10 times now and it's still not a scratch on the TES III theme IMO.

Oh well. Maybe we can switch sound files around like before, and add the TES III title tune instead. grin.gif
