Hey guys! How did you get money on Morrowind, when your cherecter was about 1-10 lvl?
For example:
At first I killed and robed people and sell everything I was able to get my hands on, without anybody seeng me.
After a few levels I found out, that guards all over Morrowind respawn, and I chosen one guard in Vivec, Foreign Quarters Plaza, and started killing him, by jumping on the wall and casting some spells and throwinhg stuff. When he was dead, I took all his stuff, exept the helm and somthing else and sold it to the smith, nearby. Ofcource, everybody hated me, but I payed about 10,000 drakes (I earned about 100,000 drakes) and started traveling around Morrowind. (Too bad, that it was before I had Bloodmoon and Tribunal, so I lost that cherecter.)

Well actualy when I finisht beating up hopless Ordinators I was alrady about level 20.

So, how did you get money? (No cheating)

easyest way to earn money in the beginning is to go to the ghost gate, and steal some nice stuff from the bed rooms... another way is to capture souls in soulgems an sell them...
Stampede
I cannot remember how I first earned money...but now if I need a cash injection, I just sell artifacts to the Mournhold Museum.
Malchik
Once you've played it once you know where to go to get the expensive items at the beginning and where to sell them. I end up with ludicrous amounts of cash and nothing to spend it on. The game ought to have robbers or something so that you can lose your cash if you hoard it!
Stampede
I spend mine on loose women and fast guars.
Theta Orionis
Grave robbing.
Gabbe_master
I have about 26 million in morrowind with my main char! Damn boooooring! Well, in the beginning i stole stuff and sold it. The classic thing to do is stealing the 60000 gold soulgem in balmora mageguild... easy money tongue.gif

Yes... It's cool to have 500k but if you don't have anything to spend it on....

Oh well i bought a constant effect restore health enchantement on my daedric tower shield. Don't remember howmuch that costed, but it was much smiley.gif

First time i played morrowind i sold simple things. Silverware, forks, anything i could find. Later i found some nice artifacts to sell, and bought some good equipment of it (the shopkeepers don't have that much money, so when selling i had to buy something too so i wouldn't waste any money) Well, with better equipment and some money i bought a soulgem with a soul, and made a robe with a soultrap effect on it that i could shoot like 100 times. Then i started hunting strong monsters and get their souls.

My most valuable possesion must be the soul of almalexia and vivec, (don't remember value of vivec's soul, 3 million?) Too bad no shopkeeper got 7 and a half million to buy almalexia's soul...

You can pick up 21000 gold pieces a day from Mudcrab, Creeper, and selling reagents to Nalcarya and Abelle Chriditte. Your enchantment probably cost 80000 but it's only four days worth of cash. (I have the multiple teleport marking mod loaded that enables rapid movement between the buyers).

You can spend money on training and enchantments (weapons and armour are too easily found to make that worth while) for a time but only at the beginning of the game. It is in fact a common problem with many RPGs that things get too easy as the game progresses.

If you are fairly strong (and level 27 or so) one way of making a lot of money very quickly is to go to Falensarano Stronghold. Kill and loot the daedra and clear their corpses, go into another cell and kill some more. When you return to the first cell they have respawned. Keep doing this until bored. If you're lucky you'll get loot from a couple of dozen golden saints in a matter of minutes!

At the very beginning of the game do the Vassir-Didanat mine quest and get a daedric sword. That can be sold (others are around in mines to be picked up for nothing) to pay for armour etc and training. Another good source of income is completing the quest for Mollimo of Cloud Rest at Tel Branora. You fight half a dozen people at once but they are pretty feeble. Just have a couple of potions to hand.

RuaDragonheart
Only problem I've ever found with finding that daedric sword in the mine is that nearly half of the merchants I've found in the game don't have enough money to purchase the weapon for. That gets really annoying. =/
Malchik
Didn't think there were any who could buy a daedric weapon in one go.

There is a way but it is too long winded for me. E/g. you sell the mudcrab four ebony shortswords at 10000 each over four days. On day 5 you bring your 50000 item and sell it, buying back the four ebony shortswords. You can then sell them again thus earning 10000 per day from the mudcrab for 9 days.

I can't be bothered to do this.

Another thing you can do, although you don't get full value for items. Visit Galbedir and buy something, then get an enchantment made (you have to have enough cash) after she takes your money for the enchanting her available resources are increased by what you paid for the enchantment (but only if you bought something first). You can now sell her expensive weapons and armour to get back what you spent on the enchantment and start all over again.

getting money very fast is easypeasy.. you start the game, run around a bit to get some money for the Silt strider... then you go to ghost gate (i think it was called that, it's been a while for me. There is a merchant who has an entire suite of class armor and stuff... steal it, sell it, you've got money

yeah i did that too. Take the quest from the catlike creature (as i said, it had been a long time) in the "Basement" of the mage guild. then the biatch upstairs will leave and you can get all her soulgems... BUT this is what i'm wondering... where did you sell it? there is no merchant who has enough money to buy the gems from you, especially the 60000 mark gem

EDIT: Merged your posts Brightash. wink.gif

Edit: thanks smiley.gif
anyway, i just came up with something else if you desperatly want money. In the east of morrowind there is a group of islands. there is a tower somewhere with this ugly darkelf guy in it (he is da bomb coz he is going to help you in the main quest), the guy with the morq where al these dead creatures are walking that you may not attack... I forgot his name. Anyway, in that building there are some valuable soulgems including a grand soulgem. fetch that, and you're rich

allthough it is a shame to sell a grand soulgem, because it is the only way to create a permanent item. So I don't advise you to sell the grand soulgems. just keep them untill you can defeat the baddest creatures (of which i forgot all the names) and soultrap them in it.

Edit 2; I remember one grin.gif Golden Saint (correct me if i'm wrong)
the_immortal_kodensai
when you 1st start playing level up outside balmora to about level 6 or so, go to the east tower in balmora with lots of potions and kill the gard upstairs. look on top of the cabinet and take the sword. drop everything and pay the fine. go get the stuff and if you have the tribunal expansion a man should attack you when you sleep. go to ebonheart and then go to mournhold. there is a museum there that will buy every rare weapons, armor, sheilds etc. that you have for a lot of money. 30000 at the most at one time and then go back and find someone who will train you in whatever skills you have that level you up. i got my character from level 27 to 76 in about an hour this way. do this until you mast everything.... if you want all your stuff back there is a glitch that when you jump to the ceiling and look down you can take everything back without anyone realizing it.
sultry^vixxen
i started out selling scrolls from Arille in seyda neen to creeper in caldera...but it took me a long time to acquire the million gold i have now...but it was worth it!
Vaanic~One
Yeah...all this talk about getting money fast reminds me that in the future, items, *even* placed ones, should be randomised. Increases the game experience that way.

In Morrowind, I never really go out of my money to make hordes of money, sometimes I even make it difficult for myself by ignoring piles of Ebony and such.
Zadestar
Go beat the crackers out of the dark brotherhood, and sell that armor to scampy, 35 sets of that,(easy to get), sells for over 100k
M'Aqui
M'Aqui has a suggestion for those with "too much money". M'Aqui suggests that you live off the land, much in the way M'Aqui does. Do not steal, or buy, or sell anything. This way is much better, in M'Aqui's humble opinion, than murdering everyone for their soul gems...
Cardboard Box
Scent-of-Victory does not have a great money surplus; quite the opposite. One has confiscated a sizable haul of skooma from Fort Frostmoth, and made the acquaintance of the one known as Creeper, but that is as far as "exploits" go. One prefers instead to honorably sell one's salvage to merchants one meets along the way.

One also has made note that Dark Brotherhood equipment and riekling arms and shields are significantly prized. However, given a choice between the two groups, one's experience suggests that should a large cash injection be needed, a visit to Mournhold is not so much in order as far more preferable.

Scent-of-Victory has opinions on the pairing of reikling versus Bark Brother, but was taught by one's stepfather not to gamble on sporting events.
Dilvish
Often very wealthy at high levels, Dilvish's characters are. Daedric ruins they find... Yes... The grand souls of those inside, tightly trapped they are. Much weighty loot then is taken. Refuse to purchase these things for gold, Creeper can not.

Why wish you to become rich? Great wealth makes not one great, no.
Yoda perhaps, this one's next character's name should be. Hmmm?
Chaosmaker
How I made money. I did the whole fargoth thing with out giving the money to that legion guy. Then I went to Balmora and sold everything that was in the crates outside. That usually supports me enough untill I can get on my feet and earn some money biggrin.gif
theRAIDER
Thieve's Guild quests, even the early ones, pay out a TON of money for early quests, as much as 1000 a pop, which seems like a lot but isn't. The real money is in the Tribunal Expansion. If you're at level 20-30, just beat the shiznat out of every Dark Brotherhood Punisher you meet (which should be a LOT at level 20-30) and sell one of the Daedric Tantos to the Armorer in the Great Bazaar. Wait 24 hours, sell another. Another 24 hours, sell another. It's that easy.
RuaDragonheart
Don't forget that you can sell uniques to the museum in Tribunal. They pay a lot if you're low on gold.
Chooba
I usually have no trouble with money i must say....
I start with a low alchemy skill (as alchemy really does bring in the cash) and then i go to mages guild in balmore (this is before i got me some handy mods that make the whole thing quicker) and buy food from the Khajiit untill i have 100 of at least two ingridients. And then make potions. Zap to caldera...sell it all to creeper...and i gain levels too! and when im done im usually level 7 or 10.... and usually have over 100 k to play with! And no one gets hurt! ! Then i go and raid the bitter coast and all its tombs... keeps me occupied!
RuaDragonheart
Recently, with the new mods I've been playing, including Partners and the mod that adds the Black Netch, Red Dragon, and Dagoth armors, I can get around 4000 gold before I even leave the Seyda Neen area. Get the 500 from the tax collecter quest, take Gilnith's stuff and sell it since he'll no longer be needing it, get the Fargoth's hiding place quest but keep 300 gold, get the Mentor's Ring, go to the Thelas tomb to get the full set of Black Netch there and sell it to the guy near the Bitter Coast Cantina from Partners, and if I kill a Dark Brotherhood assassin while I'm there, I can sell all of his stuff, too! Seems like a decent start money-wise.
Zadestar
haha i have come up with a supreme scheme, if you do not mind selling a good item (you can get it back later), and if you have tribunal, get the King's Mail or whatever, and sell to the museum in Mournhold. 30k, on my first lvl haha. great fun, if you can't find the armor, search spoilers.
Adras
Probably my quickest way to get money is to do the House Hlaalu and Thieves Guild quests, as they pay well. Another one of my quicker ways to to pop into the Caldera Mages Guild, go in the tower and steal the alchemy equipment, since I am no alchemist, and sell it in a different town. It fetches a rather nice price. Sometimes I will grab everything I can find and sell it, but I have a hard time drawing away from selling candles. I collect them for some strange reason, and I am still trying to figure out why.
JudgementXXX
Vivec, Redoran, Dralor manor. Take the key from lady upstairs draw. got to vaults, open vault, wait for ordinator to leave vault, take all I can carry and sell it to creeper in caldera ghorak manor. sorted. Hmmm... When I summon a dremora/golden saint - kill them - while they fall enter their courpse the game crashes... Any ideas on how to stop that?
