If Turkey joins the EU no doubt some of its major chains of shops will make their way into other European cities. This is one. Does anyone know how we should pronounce it?

To my understanding, here the 'a' is mostly silent and emphasis is placed on the consonants; remembering that a non-modified 'i' is pronounced like the 'e' in "open," this will give you "R-che-leck."

Furthermore, Arçelik probably doesn't have many plans for moving out of Turkey, as they have a well-established name there, and their parent company already drives a profit from other areas by way of BEKO, which you may already know of, since they operate primarity in British territory.

I would think that at this time, some of you are wondering how I came to know so much about Turkish electronics manufacturers -- the plain and simple truth is that I spent some time in a Turkish prison; it was not a pleasant experience by the whole, and I do not with to dscuss it further.

MB we love you! To be honest it was meant to be amusing, as to the untutored eye it reads as 'arse lick', and the English term arse-licking means being sycophantic to your superiors (possibly also in the US although I suspect the expression there is 'butt kissing').

I saw the film Midnight Express (I think that was the name of it) certainly I would not want to spend time in a prison in Turkey. I'm glad you survived the ordeal.

The EU itself is a good Idea.

But its gone to fast,to compensade the Problems it creates.

What kinda problems?

The costs, the Fact that some people are afraid of Globalization.

The Fact that its all gone to fast.

I mean, why a united Europe,if so many people loose their will for a collectiv
Politic.

Of course as a Teenager you all see optimized.

Generally I agree, they are. Their youth affords them that privilage. However, be careful of putting other members of this forum into a box based purely on their age.
