According to some sources the Oblivion release date has been pushed back to December 5th, and 2K Games (the publishers for Oblivion) have confirmed this. Personally I'm wondering how you're able to push back a release date that never existed. Last I heard the release date was "Holiday's 2005". December 5th would be in the "Holiday's 2005" bracket and therefore there's no news here.

To be honest I'm finding this lack of information being released by Bethesda a little tedious. I was around for Morrowind's release with the similarly little-PR pre-launch, and that was just as irritating.

Obviously the guys at Bethesda aren't morons who don't know what they're doing, but I'm blown if I personally know what they're doing.

Huh. So it really was delayed? Even though they never announced an earlier release date. And yet they're announcing it's delayed. Negative PR, needlessly. Could have been some positive PR with that video but they went ape and covered it up.

Yeah, I'm not particularly sure what they're doing either.

Well there was the rumour that the video wasn't supposed to have been released, that it was for reviewers only to get their appetite up even higher, but everyone comes up with that kind of stuff. Seems that bad PR comes hand-in-hand with a good product (refers to the hideously awful PR or lack thereof leading up to the release of the film Serentity, but thats another issue for another day).

Oh well, gives me time to save some money to buy a PC that'll actually play it

Well, that's a drawback and all.

but, so long as it is realeased full stop, I'm happy.
