According to the website of the German gaming magazine PCGames, the Oblivion release has been postponed to 5th December (http://www.pcgames.de/?article_id=412720). In their article, they reference the game retailer GameStop, whose website provides the same information (http://www.gamestop.com/comingsoon.asp?orderAscDesc=Asc&strAscDesc=1000&linkpage=11¤tpage=2&sortby=title&imageFlag=show&platform=13).

What do they mean by "postponed"? It was never due to come out before December anyway, was it? There are a bunch of dates that people have been making up all over the place but Bethesda have never said anything earlier than December.

Well, the date that had been commonly circulating around the net (as far as I was informed) was 22nd November.

Ah I see... not sure where they got that information from.

I believe Bethesda have said themselves that if the release date hasn't been stated by them, don't believe it. And the last stated date by them was still "holiday season" aka Christmas time.

amazon.com was giving the oblivion release date as 21st November, while it was 25th November on amazon.co.uk last night - though of course they did state that release dates are 'subject to change'.

Thank you for those links _Atti_.
Bethesda is playing the waiting game in more ways than one it seems...if they do eventually confirm a February release date, I'll be a bit disappointed.
I was looking forward to playing Oblivion over my Christmas leave.

Done, seeing as this thread is somewhat outdated, I am going to close it to avoid confusion.
