Stampede

That's right boys and girls!

Check out this sample quote:

"Back to the prison, we searched around our dismal cell, noticing the details of the brick that holds us captive. Everything had a dreary and damp appearance; somewhat slimy looking. This is where the Xbox 360 is showing its stuff. We could certainly never classify anything as “slimy looking” in the current generation, and mean it in a good way. Using the Left Bumper button (which is used to grab objects), we fiddled around with some of the items in the cell, including the hanging chains. Nearly everything can be interacted with, which means Oblivion is fun just playing around with the physics system. "

All this and more right here!

Enjoy, good people...enjoy.

Good find Stampede. Of course, I won't be playing Oblivion on the Xbox 360, but its good to get any kind of info on how the game plays. Ah, the anticipation...

Yeah, neither will I. However, right now any press for the Xbox version is basically press for the pc version as well.

Indeed. Although to be honest, I feel a little bit sorry for those guys who'll play it on the 360. Since they won't have access to a mod community (they won't right? I don't remember reading that they would) a huge amount of longevity within the game is lost. Of course, the game itself will be replayable for ages due to its nature, but the potential of the engine and the ingenuity of the modders out there almost override my anticipation of the game itself. Since we've seen such classic games come out of TCs and mods such as Day of Defeat, Natural Selection, Total Realism for Rome: Total War (fantastic mod by the way if anyone plays Rome)... I'd say I'm justified in looking favourably into the future for mods on the PC. SOrry Xboxers, but we'll always get the better deal cool.gif

Well, Bethesda have claimed they'll be expanding more on XBox 360's online capabilities. I think they are planning to give players on there at least limited access to mods. Probably only the official ones though.

But I definitely wouldn't trade my ability to mod the game so I could play it on 360. Especially not since the original XBox was a pretty good waste of money for me.

Depends on how you look at it. The people with the xbox 360 won't have to worry about system requirements. Some people will have to switch of some options on oblivion so it won't be all blurry and stuff. Same for morrowind for me: Runs perfect. Unless i put the shadow option on its maximum, then i really can't play. xbox 360 users with oblivion will be able to use it at his best

But i'm still glad to have a computer because i like mods smiley.gif

That's not necessarily true. Many of the people who previewed the game on the 360 noted FPS dips -- and this isn't even touching the exteriors, which may very well be slower than a three-legged geriatric leprous turtle on valium climbing uphill and upwind in a Fox Island blizzard after being dropped from fifty feet onto a jagged slab of concrete.

Besides that, the price of the console certainly isn't modest when comparing it to a replacement video card -- and this is to play the game at reduced resolution anyways, which is generally the most drastic setting you would ever need to change to get video performance up.

Interesting.

this ups my anticipation for the game somewhat. smiley.gif

Thats the best exclamation I've heard in many a day, and I have several friends who are Red Dwarf fans. wink.gif
