Hi folks,

The first of many new features on TESSource has been launched today in the run-up to the release of Oblivion and it's inevitable influx of mods to the community. I'm happy to present the Mod Site Creator; for those mod authors who've always wanted sites of their own but haven't had the time or know-how to do it!

The Mod Site Creator (MSC) is a database-driven, PHP coded content management system that enables people to login to a special area and create pages, upload mods and add screenshots all through an easy to use web interface, similar to the one you use to post on forums. You don't need any knowledge of HTML or making web graphics, just the ability to type.

The special site at http://mods.tessource.net/ has all the details, but here's a good snippet:

Users receive:

- Your site at http://mods.tessource.net/yoursite/

- The ability to create your own site pages without knowing ANY HTML or other web-language. Just type the text into the text box and it'll show on the site!

- As many mods as you want hosted on the site with a whopping file size limit of 50MB, all uploaded straight to the site from your hard-drive! No bandwidth limits, no space limits.

- A download counter for all your mods that will show how many people have downloaded your mods, as well as a commenting system for people to leave messages about your mods!

- An easy to use screenshot gallery to show-case all your mods. Simply browse to the image on your hard-drive and click the upload button. It's then there on the site!

- A guestbook for people to sign and comment on your site and mods.

This system is for mod authors and project teams only. Work-in-progress mods are also allowed. The system is not to be used for personal pages unrelated to modding in Morrowind or Oblivion.

For more information and to apply head on over to http://mods.tessource.net/ - it's all free and easy.

Feedback and suggestions welcome.

Regards.

Thank you Dark0ne for offering this, its very generous of you!

I love the whole layout of the mod creator, its very easy to understand and use.

But I have some suggestions, and Im pretty sure that you have already thought of adding these in the future.

It would be really good if you could use more tags in the mod creator, right now there are only bold and italic available.

Like:

Letter Size,

Font style,

Letter Colour,

Thank you for offering this excellent feature!

Edit:

I would be cool I you could add your own banner at the top of the site, smiley.gif

The current tags (<b> for bold and <i> for italics) are HTML tags. You can use conventional HTML tags in the mod creator as well, I just haven't listed them because it's meant to be for people who don't know HTML -- and I don't want to be troubleshooting problems for 20 odd people who mucked up their site because they tried their hand at HTML and royal screwed up!

Understandable I'm sure you can appreciate.

Yes of course.

I've tried and tried, but I can't find where to login!

It tells you in the welcome email. It isn't publicised for security reasons.
