So, I wanted to use Morrowind Graphics Extender. I re-installed my GOTY edition, and then downloaded the 1.6 patch. It started and said it was successful, but MGE says it isn't updated. When I start the game, the number in the bottom left corner is 1.5.2 or something.

Sometimes for these patches to work they need the original version of the game .exe file. Try installing the game fresh in a different location on your PC and then copy the fresh .exe to your normal location. Your patch should take then.
Well if you downloaded the patch from somewhere else than elderscrolls it won't work. I suggest you to download the patch from their site.

GotY is fully patched, and shoouldn't need to be updated.
Hmm. Well, if it is already patched, I guess it's a problem with MGE. How would I go about finding out what's wrong?
