Hi folks,

While this won't affect the majority of people it's nice to have some conformity and update people on the going's on of Gaming Source.

Recently I've been trying to focus more on the network of hosted sites, especially in regards to the CMS software I coded -- the same software used to power TESSource.net. With this new direction in mind I decided to cease having Gaming Source as a general gaming hub (you know the sort; general gaming news, reviews, trailers etc) and focus it more towards the hosting that we provide, which is no doubt our most successful aspect. Monthly traffic continues to grow across the network and I'm receiving atleast 20 hosting applications daily, and the hosting section isn't even well advertised (and I don't pump it on the net at all, it's all through word of mouth).

I'm looking forward to seeing the response to making GamingSource.net the front for our hosting.

This isn't to say the months of work I did coding and designing the CMS for GamingSource.NET will be lost. It's all backed up to my hard-drive, and I'm hoping that my going to university at the end of September to do a 3 year Computer Science course will put me in contact with local, avid gamers willing to carry on the original Gaming Source "general gaming" hub. If there's one thing I've learnt about volunteers over the internet, it's that 90% of them are all talk and no work. They like the idea of getting free games and being a staff member of a successful site, but when you mention work, they seem to forget it quickly. Hopefully finding local help will mean I can kick the crap out of my staff if they don't keep their asses in check!

Check out the new site, have a play around with the different titles you can choose. Personally I prefer the Morrowind one the best, but others I've asked like the BF2 one. Which do you prefer? wink.gif

Hah, I like the change. The other site seem a little on the dead side. tongue.gif

Indeed, good move Robin.

Free games? What?? And still no work? I'd fire them immediately.

I'm confused... why do you have to change the name? Can't it just be GamingSource.net hosting?

Interesting. tongue.gif

It's a shame you dropped the gaming hub thing, but it's probably for the best in the long run... I mean geez, I had no idea you were actually hosting 100 sites.

As for the skin feature, it's a split between Morrowind and NWN with me I think. grin.gif

I really like the design. It's nice how it matches the forums, and it's generally aesthetically pleasing I think. ^^

If you ask me, that's the wisest decision you could make.

Not that I disliked the "gaming hub" approach, nor did I loathe GamingSource's look and content, but in my eyes it couldn't compete with large, established sites like IGN or GameSpot.

Good choice to focus on the hosting aspect instead smiley.gif

One of the things I liked about GSN as a gaming site was/is the non-hyped reviews. Although, I do remember one game that the devs tried to get you to change it...
