Full Version: anyone played warhammer dawn of war
i just got warhammer dawn of war i was playing it online last night and i have to say i like had some good games on it
cool m8 did you like is pc gamer says it is a must buy
Well it's got practically no replay value, as far as the campaign is concerned. I reinstalled the game a month or so ago, played 2 skirmish maps then uninstalled it. It was good while it lasted.
my big bro told me just play it online lol had a goos game last night online
I should try online as well, theres also some really good mods that add new races, such as the Tau and Daemonhunters.

fairly cool game. story missions playable through a couple of times. then your relegated to online play for a challenge. at least thats my 2 cents.

Yeah dawn of war was great. The starting movie rock. The bad thing is that the campaing can only be played with Space Marines.
As stated above the single player campaign is really just a once off and does get a touch repetative.
On-line games can be fun but it does lean towards the horde of a single type approach.
That said it does look good and it is cool to have your own banner design and colour schenes. If playing with friends one can keep away from the single mob moving around the map aspect.
THQ Have modelled their new game "Company of Heroes" on the same engine, but it is in my view a far better game with the emphasis on the combat and not the building. Having played both the closed and open beta I found that those who tried the single troop type mob approach consistently failed. COH is one of several good games coming out over the next month or so, and there is only so many hours one can play.
