Full Version: Another New Interview!

It seems GamesPlanet have managed to get an interview with Pete Hines, Bethesda's Vice President of PR and Marketing. Naturally they're poking about for some info on Oblivion. Not a terrible amount of new info is revealed, but it's worth a read nonetheless! During the interview they cover: Storyline, Quests, Radiant A.I., some brief Class details, further Construction Set details, some info on Flora and Fauna, and some brief info on Fast Travel.

Also, Pete Hines is quoted as saying that players won't be allowed to "create weapons from scratch". He seems to make a point of emphasising that that won't be possible with weapons. But he doesn't say anything about armour...

Linkie.

Enjoy!

it is a slight shame that no new real information was uncovered, but nevertheless, it was an interesting read.

Does anybody have an idea of what Graphics card needed to run Oblivion? and about how much it will cost to buy it

Some of the sites that preview the game say £35 I believe... so that would be about $65. I don't think there's any reason to think that it'll cost more than usual new releases. When the system requirement question is asked in interviews they all seem to say that the "latest and greatest" should run the game just fine. And they're going to include more extensive means to reduce the graphics so that the game will run on a wider range of machines.

I hope they do what they did with EQ2 and set the game to only work with optimum machines. The higher the specs, the greater the game will look in 3 years time.

Hmm, I don't think that's what they have in mind from what I've read. I could be wrong though. I think they're planning to at least allow the game to run ok on standard machines with some tweaking. If they set it up so it'd only run on a PC with a GeForce 6800 GT, 1.5gb RAM and a 64 bit 3.2ghz processor I think they'd be cutting back on sales just a tad. tongue.gif

I have no doubt that Bethesda will develop the game in such a way that even those with PCs that were hot 2 years ago will still be able to enjoy it. Past experiences with them have lead me to believe they are an extremely market orientated company.

And the boss is right, I waited almost 3 years to get a good enough PC with a hot enough graphics card for those water effects in Morrowind and I was not disappointed one bit

DarkOne is right to an extent. But I think that for the sake of those who cannot afford to upgrade, it should be set to also run on macjines that were hot 2 years ago.

Besides, looking at all the screenies, This game will be hot in 3 years time, no matter what.
