No, i hate cheating, because most cheats ruin the game, and when i learn a cheat i canīt stop using it its terrible
When i was playing doom 2 (great game) my brother told me how i could become imortal (with the glowing green eyes

) and i never stoped using it
Ps: Mainly because of the monsters <_< I was 9 at the time

That was the first game i played in my all powerful computer who had windows 3.9 ( i think thats what its called) and had 500mb in its hardrive

Try using a masterīs lockpick, if not train

level 75 lock, i think around lvl 50 security with a masters lockpick you should be able to open it. but dont take my word for it as stealth isnt something that i go with, im a mage at heart so i have lock opening spells

if you still cant open it tho, just go thru the main story line, and your bound to come across a locksplitter scroll, which opens up to a 100 level lock, SAVE beforehand, cause if its not in there, im sure you can find MUCH better uses for that spell

About cheating, i only cheat when its absolutely necesary, or when i get really greedy. Like in that third or fourth quest, its the first to join the ashlanders, that you go into the burial, everyone knows the magebane (glass claymore

) is there, but theres also glass greaves hanging up there and i totally forgot to pickup a levitation spell, i disable clipping, fly over, grab the greaves and nothing else, come back, and when i get back to town i figure out how much i would have payed, and then go into odai river and drop cash at the bottom of the river, in other words i have like 6k cash built up down there from the begining of the game at random areas along the river

anyone up for sifting for gold in the river

i dont really like cheating. i cheated the game rotten when i first played and it destroyed it. so now i just stick to playing it legit cos its overall a lot more satisfying
but i do mess around with a cheat char now and then.

I just don't see the point of cheating... I mean, killing vivec in one hit, infinite health and all that get boring after about 5 minuites. The only time I would "cheat" is fixing an obvious bug. The only mods I use, I use for the content (new player models, etc), not how powerful they make my character.

the only real good use of the console is when i get stuck somewhere, and i disable clipping. i can then free myself, and the turn clipping back on. that's all i try to use it for, but i am guilty of sometimes doing the coc command (you know, just did a long quest, forgot to save, CTD, then repeat). as opposed to doing the whole thing over again, i coc to the point, then do it, and go back.

I'd have to agree TCL is a MAJOR nessity when i play and jump around sometimes i fall THROUGH the floor after that if i dont turn on TCL fast i get thrown into a black void falling down onto some ground until i die <_< . I avoid cheating because it really does ruin the gameplay but i do tend to exploit some little buggies such as the self enchanting. But if you plan on using a plugin to add a NPC that buys everything at full price that has like 1 million gold you might as well be cheating for the money instead.
By the way how would you consider 2 constant effect items i always have 1 is a restore fatigue 8 points the other is a ring that restores 4-5 points (i take whichever amount i get). Now would this be called cheating in a way i should i be chugging potions everytime i get a little bruise, cut or a little fatigued??????

My last name is McLegit. Not really, but I'm playing my current character without any cheats, so I've struggled for every gold farthing.
I played before with a single mod that ruined the gameplay, basically it made it where the Creeper had 100000 gold and he would buy any item. Needless to say, I abused this system and soon became too rich for money to have any value in the game. I've repented my ways and I'm on the straight and narrow.

Bah i dont need such a pathedic mod i got my Mark spell at the mudcrap merchant with loads of goodies sitting around (bet plenty of thieves would want that collection) during 1 day i can make 15k gold but i earned this money as i killed, stole and worked for the items i sold.
Its not cheating if its in the game and its not a glitch or bug PERIOD. Least thats the way i see cheating although fortifying your intelligence to enchant items would probably be a bug since all the potions WILL stack like i said one of those things the players must decide if its legit or not. Maybe i'll start a character that doesnt enchant their own items some time.

Aug 21 2003, 01:08 AM
Vaa, you cheat by upping your levels in the console, or using God Mode, and creating ultimate weapons in armor in the construction set.
I'm a purist. Cheating just takes away all the fun from the game. Games are meant to be challenging, and they should be.
But sometimes I get really pissed off and upload my Almighty Sword of Phil... then wreck havoc across Morrowind.

i tried to cheat but couldn't get codes to work,
my friend say's the only way to play is with potion stacking
i don't really see the fun in that
so the only way i cheat is if a mod adds npc's or more stuff to do

cheating, bleh, even when i modify the game it's to make it more enjoyable for myself. i only use mods that i know won't unbalance the game. there are so many weapons out there just are disgusting. i mean cmon, a dagger that does 200 damage, gimme a break. but cheating for me is defined by altering the game in such a way as to cause an unfair advantage to the player. sometimes i use the console command to readd items to the game that i had aquired but were lost when i modified the chest they were in (kicks self).
other than that unless you're really motivated to cheat then it's too much effort to give yourself that uber powerful weapon of Smashy de Brains. that makes the game what...utterly worthless and to me it disrespects the insane amount of time and effort on the part of developers to ensure the game is balanced so even high level characters can experience a challenge.

nah thats not cheating. i have a restore health item myself. it really doesnt have any effect in battle against a heavy hitting opponent when u have like 744 health. and its useful so u dont have 2 keep resting/using potions because of damage u mounted up from a few nix hounds

Sucks dont it i always jump as i travel since 1. after lvl50 its faster than walking and 2. its a quick easy way to increase the skill. I have yet to get a character with 744 health but i do know when you attack those critters in bloodmoon such as the spriggans you get womped good like 50 life a hit or more. I gotta say though a regen ring helps when you jump, fall and practically kill yourself for your stupidity of falling off high ledges or trying to fly without a levatate spell.

Cheating really ruins the game even with being frustrated so badly on some quests in bloodmoon such as the werewolf ones. I couldnt heal but did i do the worst thing and put on god mode NO i stuck it out and eventually i became human again MUAHAHAHAHA they didnt stand a chance against me then. I ownestly dont know how a lvl24 character as a werewolf can die with a few hits of weapons its rediculous.
Hope your able to stop your cheating urges if you have the cheats written down cast them into the flames and be gone with them but if you memorized them you have some big problems. The question is WHY do you cheat?

You know now that i think of it for you people you need a cheat to disable cheats  . Honestly what fun is it if you create a new character and your already wearing the toughest armor you can steal?

. If you want to do that GO STEAL IT INSTEAD OF CHEATING works wonders and its legit. Just check those quick start guides and you'll be powered up in no time all legit wise.

No no no, not to cheat to kill a guard or something, i mean when you saved at the wrong time and your fighting someone or a party of people waay stronger than you and your out of health, and fatigue potions and no amslivi or divin intervention it comes helpful, ive only used it about 3 or 4 times because of my ill preparedness (if thats even a word). As for cheating....I try to play the game straight the first time round - though I've used the tcl cheat - not really a cheat IMO. I mean, it was up to Bethesda to make sure you couldn't get stuck in the landscape in the first place!
Oh yeah, and cheating is invaluable for mod testing!
Smite_Plight
Sep 2 2003, 09:25 PM
Actually bethesda did provide for getting stuck in the landscape. instead of using tcl just type fixme and you'll be good as new without the dirty feeling of cheating.
as for me ... for about a month i cheated so bad i couldn't stand the game anymore. I'd give myself like 300000 gold and then go trainer hopping and if something looked like it might kill me then a little clickity clack on the keyboard and i'd be in godmode.
but really with a little effort you can get around anything without cheating. while your still level one you should be able to afford and use(with varying success) a distanced 100 open spell. and if tou go do some alchemy at the white haven shop you should be able to levitate , and have a full purse too, any time you want to out of the reach of baddies that are many levels above you and fling arrows and spells at them without taking any damage.
so cheaters stop cheating, exploiting is way more fun.

I don't really cheat, but I do use mods, though only ones that are balanced for the game, or, at most, make the game only slightly easier, such as one mod I use that puts a chest into the Seyda Neen customs and excise office that gives you a suit of light armour with 2 points feather and 1% chameleon constant effect on each piece. I don't see the point of going further than this, as it destroys the whole game if you do.
