Arwen _XPR
This mod slows down how fast you will level up, by reducomg the default Experience Points Rewards (XPR) by a factor of 5 (for all difficulty levels).

this would result in several kills not giving any exp at all

That's only true for Very Easy Creatures, which are assigned a kill value of 0 in the default game, so you really shouldn't gain XP for killing them.
I've been using this mod in my own game for quite awhile. When you kill a Easy Creature, like a Mole-rat, you'll only gain 1 XP (you gain 5 XP in the default game).

I completely agree, I had reached level twenty before even starting the main quest.
Thankfully, I still have not, and have yet to subsequently start Broken Steel.
I'm looking forward to experiencing the 30-level-cap with your mod! ^^
Thanx

I have given this file my endorsement.
There have been plenty of experience reducing mods before, but this one is especially well-thought-out and balanced.

Thanks for the positive feedback!
I just want to let you know that I'm working on an update, which I'm hoping to release tomorrow (7/15).
Version 2.1 will slow down leveling slightly less, while being a bit more balanced than v.2.0. XPR for kills will be 1/4 default (instead of 1/5), but XPR for quest solving will be reduced only by 1/2 default (instead of 1/5). The new version will also include XPR reductions for trap disarming and for speech challenges (but only a bit less than the default values).

Nice mod ... have been using another since got the game, but this one seems a lot better balanced overall. Gotta admit I like a sliding scale so can get 1st couple levels fast but things begin to slow down and come slower and slowwweeerr and sslllooowwweeeerrr. Just me ....

Works great. No issues with leveling past 20 with Broken Steel.

Feels much better than the xp reducer I was using..more balanced..also use Arwen's tweaks and many of her mod recommendations off her web page...pretty stable and very good for many aspects of the game.
Some may argue that reducing xp etc. is against the spirit of the game but..with added content from DLC's and player mods etc... well...just seems right to slow levels down a bit..

Love your approach to slower leveling.
Works great and while i didn't spent that much time with the mod on my first playthrough, i can't wait to start my second
The only thing(s) i would change, are the rewards for the (unmarked) collection quests:
Scrap Metal / PreWar Books
Teddy Bears (The Pitt)
Supermutant Blood / Sensor Modules (Broken Steel)
I would cut the reward for the above to a fifth ... what do you think?
Anyway, thank you for your mods

Thanks for the feedback and for the endorsements!
@ Scooby: My mod only touches the XPR modifiers, which means that the number of XPR you receive for quest rewards are global (exactly the same for all quests) ... this allows my mod to be compatible with all DLC and with most other mods.
I am currently nearly ready to release version 2.2, which will include two esps (one which levels a touch faster than v.2.1, and one that level quite a bit slower).
With v.2.1, XPR for Quest Solving was 50% less than default. With v.2.2's regular esp, this is set at 60%; and the extreme esp sets it at 40%)

I am currently using V.2.1 of XPR, so should I download and use the normal version 2.2 or just keep 2.1 installed?

If you are happy with the speed that you are leveling with v.2.1, you should probably just continue using it. The regular esp in v.2.2 would likely level you up a bit faster than what you are currently getting.
Version 2.1 is based on a 25% kill XPR / 50% skill XPR reduction (with a few skill XPR at 75%). The regular esp in version 2.2 is based on a 30% kill XPR / 60% skill XPR reduction (only Trap rewards are higher, at 70%). (The extreme esp is based on a 20% kill XPR / 40% skill XPR reduction.)

How come people like you aren't working at Bethesda is beyond me. As good as those guys are, they could stand to learn a thing or two. It was a great touch to add the extra-super-slower levelling module.

Gives a more balanced xp amount. Getting XP now feels like an achievement instead of one step closer to ending the leveling prematurely.

I was unsure about this mod at 1st, then I tried it. And I really like it. I use the normal version and it fits perfectly with my style of play, and along with your enhanced tweaks mod it works great.
Keep up the great work. ;-)

Thank you very much for this mod! It felt ridiculous being 17 after doing just the main quest and Wasteland Survival Guide. This makes the rest of the game's content far more important and I don't see how I could go back to playing the old way.

Thanks for writing a detailed description! I am still a bit skeptical about some parts (f.e.: I only met a Deathclaw once and was instantly dead, so getting less xp for it than a mere computer hack sounds weird), but in general I like what you've done, and in any case I prefer to know what I am getting myself into

... so I chose to pick your mod for decreasing my leveling speed.

This MOD is phenominal. No longer am I walking out of Vault 101 as a level 7 newb. Now I'm a level 2 newb who is getting owned by Mole Rats!! AWESOME!!

Very useful for those who think the game goes too fast and like to take their time. Once level 30 nothing is really interesting, the game is no more the same.
Simple and effective, that's what I like, thanks

Thanks so much for all the endorsements!
I'm working on a Reduced Quest XPR module, for my Realism Tweaks, which will be part of my next release (v.3.4). This new module will reduce all the default quest rewards by 90%.
What this means is that you will no longer automatically level up when you leave vault 101, since you'll only receive 20 XPR, instead of 200. This should really slow down the final issue that makes everyone level up too fast (I'm releasing it as a separate independent esp, as it needs to load early, before any mods that modify any of the default quests.
