Full Version: Any Street Fighters in da house?

I loved Street Fighter, I used to play it on my Megadrive and on my Playstation. I used to rip the pride out of my opponents and break their spirit. Oh how I would crush them like juicy grapes...

Unfortunately, nobody wanted to play against me anymore.

Did any of you guys play Street Fighter? I know it has a special place in Switch's heart. Who did you guys like to play as? I played/play as Vega.

PS:No matter who any of you played as...I would have pwned you.

PPS: Ken is a chicken fighter.

EDIT: I removed the name of the emulator I am using, rather red faced while doing it, but keeping in mind that most emulators are still genuinely illegal. The only time it is justified is if you own the original copy of the game you are playing.
Switch
Ah yes... for reference, this is an inside joke I think, someone lent me a faulty copy of Street Fighter years ago and it destroyed my Mega Drive's 32X, heheh. grin.gif

I did since then rent a couple of Street Fighters and thought they were interesting, especially since I wasn't into gaming back when 2D fighters were popular, and the Street Fighter games seemed to offer a kind of window into the past as it were. tongue.gif Satisfying, but all in all I think I probably enjoyed the 3D fighters more.

Loved Super Street Fighter II. I forget which version...there were too many to count. As for my favorite character, I'd have to say Chun-Li. Those fast kicks are pretty nice. Throw in the ability to bounce off walls, and you've got yourself a winner.
Stampede
Aah yes...Chun-Li, encountering her as one of the last fighters always managed to prove a challenge. Vega also had the ability to bounce of walls, but Chun seemed to be the embodiment of Street Fighting tactics.

She could fire projectiles. (In Super Street Fighter anyway)

She had speed.

She could execute multiple hit moves (spinning bird kick! and that
super fast kick she had.)

She had throws...

I used to steal a glance at her tushy when she shot her fireball.

Heh, I loved it back on the SNES. I played SF, SF2, SF2T, and I think another one. SF2T was my favourite what with the speed and all, and because I could finally play as Vega (if my memory serves me correct, you couldn't use him in the original SF2). I actually thought Vega was a flat chested girl though tongue.gif

The only other 2D fighter I really enjoyed from back then was Killer Instinct, although I was never really good at it.

edit: my favourite character from SF is Chun Li of course grin.gif
But I also liked Blanka - just because I could jump on you and bite your face off tongue.gif
Stampede
You are correct, the original Street Fighter 2 was titled "The World Warrior" and did not allow you to play as Vega. It was followed by "Champion Edition" which allowed you to play as the 4 bosses.

Blanka always had an appeal, he could be deadly if used properly and his moves were easy to pull off. The electric shock was always great in a tight spot.
