So I'm trying to make a trader with tons of money to sell some expensive stuff that no other merchant has the moneys for.. but whenever I try to sell him an item, he just gives me one piece of gold! maybe his lvl being 125 is the problem, maybe not. could someone help?

you gotta check his dialoge stats or something like that i think, maby it's cause of your disposition with him. go into the CS and just give an egsiting trade a ton of cash, less problems that way

Modifying an existing trader would surely cause nasty conflicts, wouldn't it?
Check out the stats for the Creeper/Mudcrab merchant. See what they're set to and copy it, is all I can suggest... just change the money values to whatever you like.
Or, you could just download an existing high cash merchant mod. It's been done plenty of times before if you search around.

Try putting his gold to -number so then he will have an infinate amount of what you gave him e.g give him -99999 gold and everytime you come back to him he will have 99999.

not true, maby that's your problem, if you put - before a number it sets it to about 65 thousand (works well for add item gold cheat

(not that i would)). maby you should just give him 99999999 insted of -99999999.

Hre is a few steps I have used and they seem to work just fine for me.
Note i am not treating you as a CS newbie this is for everyone newbie or not and is something that can help greatly even for thoughs who have been making mods for a while since sometimes we forget how to do something if we dont do it much.
Step 1.
Load the CS
Step 2.
select the ESP file and what ESM files that the ESP requires.
Step 3.
click the NPC tab and select the NPC you want to edit.
Step 4.
Click on the AI button.
Step 5.
Click the Services tab.
Step 6.
Enter the amount of gold you want the NPC to have into the Barter Gold box.
Step 7.
Click save on the AI Data
Step 8.
Click save on the NPC
Step 9.
Save the mod and your done.

oh great, now the traders are being really gay.
this is what I do.
Make new arrows, make a bow, put them on the merchant.
I set the bow to -1 so its unlimited (right?)
and the arrows to -100
I give him 1000 gold, and 1000 barter gold.
I save the mod
I go up to him, and he has no bow, no arrows, and no money! W T F!

no.. its gay because I deleted him before,, and the person i put in wasnt there..
now my problem is getting them to sell unlimited amounts (i fixed the whole gay trader thing earlier today) i make a chest, give them the ownership, set the amount of arrows to -100 (because i think thats how you make them sell 100 arrows every time) and then I play, go the the place (and im using a file for testing, meaning it has no mods attached so no bugs can occur) i check barter, and there are no arrows. but there are arrows for positive numbers... im freaked out, yo =(
EDIT:
OK.... i finally decided to work... well i guess im done,, that was a gay bug.
