Whith these great houses, it has often frustrated me,
that I am all alone. I could, of course, fill them with
npc's, mannequins, traders etc, but it is not the same,
because I, the player, has to initiate the conversation.
What I want are a servant, male or female, who will
greet me when I enter. They will also, randomly,
have something for me, that they have bought or
acquired in town, at the market, or got from a
contact.
It will something that is appropriate for my occupation:
weapons, armor parts, etc for the warrior, thieving tools
for the thief, magical objects and tools for the mage,
battlemage etc, healing potions for the healer etc. etc.
And they will have left it at various places in the home,
awaiting my approval.
If i accept the gift it will go into my inventory and the
price will be deducted from my gold and be added to
the servants.
By rewarding the servant I will be able to control the
quality and amount of the following gifts and purchases,
increasing his 'service skill'
The offers could also be the request from a contact of
his for a job, or a quest, that he heard of through a
rumor in town.

I like the idea, I wonder if anyone will attempt doing a script for it?

the script that controls the guy that receive you, could be the foundation.
Whether the servant would have a request for help, a gift/purchase, an
outright quest etc. could be controlled by the script checking the time of
day, the date (morrowind calendar) or some national holiday (like in
daggerfall) and then attributing one of these offers, quests or jobs to
each of these types of events.
Say, eg. that it would be a job, if meet him (trigger the talking script)
sometimes between midnight and 8 am, a "fantastic cheap artifact"
if you return home after 3 pm but no later than 8 pm. and a job if
he sees you between 10 am and 2 pm.
These are just examples, and I really only 'brainstorming' here

The scripting would be rather difficult, but if you found an avid scripter, I'm sure they would be happy, but it does sound like a nice idea.

good idea Caliban, Morrowind should feel much less empty, and more interactive, atleast in your House/Castle. If you cant make the scrip yourself, then try to find an (some) experienced scripter, Im sure that someone gotta be intersested in an idea like this

I suggest asking Wookiee... He's incredible.

well, the morrowind Dialogue options could probably do most of this without any hard to make, long scripts. It can randomly pick dialogue things to say.
