I thought all in all this was a pretty fun game grin.gif . The storyline was great and the battlesystem was pretty good, although guns were TOTALLY underpowered. The game had a low framerate and had quite a few bugs even with the V1.2 patch.
Dark0ne
Are you talking about Bloodlines, or the original?
CLB1110
The description for the topic says bloodlines......
Morbid_Pathologist
man i hated the load times on that game, you'd have to wait about 10 minutes to load a city, then you'll run around for about 10 seconds, and wait another 10 minutes for it to load...the framerate wasnt too bad on me though...but if i ever went in the sewers, the mouse delay was weird, move the mouse, wait a few seconds and realise you should stop moving the mouse.
CLB1110
Your loadtimes were 10 minutes? I had some pretty long load times but nothing even close to 10 minutes. I had the same problem with the sewers. Its like you would tell the mouse where to go and it would finally respond a few seconds later. I really love this game but lately for some reason every time I try to play it it says my monitor's frequency is out of range. This is a very annoying problem.
Morbid_Pathologist
im trying to play it on a laptop with 512mb of ram (PC2700 i think), that probably explains why, friend of mine is running a laptop with 1gb of ram and the load times are about 2 minutes max.
Stanhead
I don't mean to brag but, I've got 1.2GB of RAM! It's PC2700. My computer > all.

tongue.gif

The loading times for me were about 90 seconds.
CLB1110
Well I guess we arent all that fortunate undecided.gif . Anyways, lets get back to the topic. Ive played through as a Nos and found the whole stealth thing pretty fun and effective. What clan were u guys?
Morbid_Pathologist
yeah i started off as a nosferatu, finished it (on a friends computer) then around 2am i was a little bored so i decided to play as a malkavian, knowing their mentally unstable this would be a good laugh...nope...i got scared when the tv started talking to me, telling me some story, and the things your character says is just weird..and you occasionally "see things", not to spoil anything.
CLB1110
Well I cant get my game to work at the moment, it seems my monitor is at the wrong "frequency" and Im not sure how to change it. What kind of things happened when you were a Malkavian?
Lord Barkmann
I got it 2 months ago and havnt stop playing it. Its an all round good game.

Try the unofficial patches made by a fangroup. They're at 4.1 or something. Made some really good changes, like better accuracy, more/less experience at different events, more weapons/items, bugfixes etc.
Really good.

Search Google. This patch is a must if you're playing Bloodlines.

I really loved this game and it is the game that got me into computer games and yes the load times and bugs kinda sucked but I had tons of fun. I played through once with every clan and only used the official 1.2 patch, haven't tried the 4.1 mentioned. What I am hopeing for (please) is that someone will make an updated sequel as it would probably do well since people who play this or have played this game seem to like it.

Sorry to break you heart, but the developers (Troika Games I believe) went bankrupt or something, so I doubt we'll see a sequel for quite some time.

HOWEVER, try the unofficial patch instead, it's almost like a sequel itself.

It's true... Troika did go bankrupt (hence the lack of more official patches for this game) and it was a sad day for gaming when it happened sad.gif A lot of gamers are waiting to see if someone gets the license and tries to create a new Bampire game but no luck so far...
The unofficial patch is a must (solves a lot of bugs, balances the game out and adds a few goodies). It's been a while since I played this game but it's one of the best RPGs I ever played... the dark-goth atmosphere of the game is amazing.
I really recommend this it, it's a fantastic game!

I really liked "Vampire - The Masquerade Bloodlines " .. but the bugs were really annoying wallbash.gif . But , all in all it was a pretty cool action rpg biggrin.gif ( THUMBS UP )
xenxander
Yes firearms were very broken in that game - you were better off using a sword. closedeyes.gif

but the patches (and mods) really helped that game along. Shame about the company going brankrupt, but I will say that "Redemption" was to me a very large disapointment, which led me to be very reluctant to purchase Bloodlines until it dropped in price (I didn't do the company any favors with that choice but *shrugs*).

Hey all, new to the forum...I played Vampires a while back, it was a good game ran smooth for me, (running 2g's of ram-7900 gtx-intel dual core 3.0g processer) it was a cool game, i only played with the magic class (sorry don't remember the exact clan name) it was an interesting game to say the least. I guess i actually need to sit down and play all the way through it, farthest i got was the part were you get on the ship and go all stealthy like and try to find out what the coffin was that they were carrying. i ended up massacring the ship and police, taht was fun
