What is it?

Daedric numeral zero, from the Daedric font in the Bookart folder. Numerals one through 5 are: Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire, Redguard, and Morrowind, in that order. Below is my attempt at a tranlation of the Daedric portion.

So... maybe an elder scrolls title that they were planning to do before Arena? Or just something they were playing with...

Methinks I'll move this to Morrowind Lore. 'Tis interesting... tongue.gif

Done some work with Text Document, and got this screenshot fragment:

It's the best translation I could determine of the bit on the bottom.

Haerot is the Mead Hall where all the fashionable monsters go. I am sorely tempted to put Daedric signs everywhere that say "drink your ovaltine." Stop me before it is too late.

Edit: most myths have a common source: astronomy. See, for instance, Hamlet's Mill.

Google thinks I might have been searching for Hero, rather that Haerot. Is it a word, perhaps in Old English or German?

It seems this was discussed on Euro-Morrowind. But it only exists in cache, and that's in French.

EDIT: I forgot to convert it to JPG. Again.

APPENDAGE: Take a look at the very last post in the linked thread. Could someone who knows French translate it better, please?

Herot was the mead hall in Beowulf. I think it was an inspiration for Thirsk. Grendel became the Udyrfrykte. Your character carries the monster's heart and a severed Nord's leg back to Thirsk. Beowulf carried the monster's leg back to Herot.
Herot is an idealized place, a barbarian paradise. The clan of independent Skaal in Thirsk is the same. Maybe the developers wanted to wrap a Herot into the story early on. They were going to call it Haerot. It ended up in Bloodmoon as Thirsk.

I found this same bit of text way back last summer. Apparently it's been found several times. When I posted on the official forums I was told that this is actually a remnenant of a game that Bethesda was going to make but never did.

The game was to be called 'Eye of Argonia' and it was to be much like Redguard gameplay wise.
