I'm on the Imperial Weapon Smuggling quest. I talked to Carius about the weapons being smuggled. I had Gaea aid me. I already knew where the cave was, so I went there. The second I entered I got a journal update. I went through, killed the bad guys, and looted the place. I come back to Carius and all he does is repeat "You've not yet uncovered the smuggling ring?..." I figured this might have something to do with the fact that I never talked to Zeno about the location of the weapons. But when I go to him about the weapons, all I get is to "Go talk to Zeno, he knows things..." The thing is, I remeber some time ago seeing a guard and Zeno standing side by side to the point where their bodies passed through each other, basically a glitch. Apparently, although the text box says Zeno Faustus at the top, he thinks he's an Imperial guard, because everytime I talk to him he says "I'm an officer of the Imperial Legion. Move along." So now I can't get the appropriate dialogue.

Am I screwed now? Or did I just miss something?

I think that you'll have to reload a save game and talk to Zeno before you go to the cave. I seem to remember reading about this somewhere ages ago. Do you have the Bloodmoon patch installed, I believe that it is one of the glitches that it fixes.

If you dont have any save games wat u have saved before you went to the cave you are really screwed because you cant continue on bloodmoons main quest

Are you playing on a PC? You can fix most broken quests on a PC.

Edit: Enter "Journal BM_Smugglers 100" without quotes into the console to complete the weapons smugglers quest. You may want to be away from the fort when you do this since the fort will be attacked.

If you complete the quest correctly the Fort Captain will no longer be at Fort Frostmoth. If he is, you have failed to complete the quest as required. It has nothing to do with Zeno Faustus. You do not need to talk to him. The one thing you must do is come back with your imperial companion alive. If Gaea Artoria has been killed you are in trouble.

If you take her to the caves then tell her to stay behind and rampage through the caves alone I believe that also is unacceptable as she will no longer talk to you. On this latter point however I could be wrong.

Ack, my comapion died and I had to run for it due to those damn axes that paralyse you. But now I have a daedric Dai-Kattana so I'll laughter 'em.
