But considering that someone got all bent out'a shape concerning MEmod.... how are these guys gonna pull it off?

Dear RPGathering,

you are right, partially! Well, it isn`t that easy. First, the mod will only be available for on our site registred members. But although, our mod will be a free fan product and will not cost a cent.

In the mod is a lot of different design included, many places which where never visible in the film. The basics for other designs are parts from general LOTR pictures (calendar and artwork) and some parts will probably be similar to some film designs.

We will see the rest, when the project is finished.

Regards,
Adiemus

You know.... how could they do it but not you guys over here at MEmod?... angry03.gif it just seems... not right huh.gif maybe you could talk to those guys over there and ask them about how they are gonna do theres... mayhap MEmod could still be possible... oh and dont take a crowbar to my knees (and Teeth to for that mattter)

1) The Tolkien estate had nothing to do with it. Please read the important threads and statements on the MEMod site before you blame the wrong people.

2) They might pull it off because they're ignoring the laws. It's that simple, what they're doing is no more legal than MEMod. But they'll probably get away with it because the owners of the rights to Middle Earth will probably decide it isn't worth the cost and effort to shut it down.

Ok... thank ya for telling me...

that's ok. I'll spare the kneecaps tonight.

They're certainly coming on, are the AME team. those undergrowth models really are gorgeous and look superb..
*Pedant mode engaged* - though I'm afraid that bridge would collapse instantly. As Theta pointed out before I'd looked at the image properly... there's no keystone or stucture in that arch.
*pedant mode off*

In my personal opinion, AME are on quicksand with regards their copyright. They seem to be copying a large proportion of the Peter Jackson Films, and with them, WETA Workshop's designs. they're definately in breach of the electronic media lisencing from the Saul Zaenetz corportation. they're probably skirting EA by using NEw Line Cinema / WETA's designs that EA/Vivendi have paid handsomely to get lisenced to use for their products.

as I've said before, good luck to them. I don't beleive that their get-around would hold up in court for a second, were they to be nailed by any one of the companies they're flaunting, but I hope they manage to get AME completed.

If they don't succeed in slipping under the radar, god, I'm glad I'm not thier team leader though...

We've already had a similar discussion about the AME mod here.

Though that bridge in the first screenshot.... I'm not an architect or engineer, but unless they've used some superstrong dwarven cement in the construction of that bridge it would disintegrate rather rapidly.... an arch only works if there's a keystone...

I knew it, Suzerain and Theta were secret rail-road workers during the day, and lovers during the night ... in a past life.

The hobbit house showed in the first pic looks exactly like the one in the movies..
2 copyright infrangements in one?

Anyway, if AME is released and owning it doesn't become highly illegal, then I guess I will make a bigger exeption about my "stay pc-gaming free" rule and try it out. Since the first day that I've known about Morrowind I thought that it would be the perfect platform for a Lord of the Rings mod.

However the AME team looks more brave (or stupid) than you and they will be "rewarded" accordingly; either by completed their mod or loose the ground beyond their feet. Time will show.

We still may. There's still a chance that the AME team won't get stopped.

On the other hand...

Since this has nothing whatsoever to do with MEMod.....
