i had that kind a error but try to install all over again and then first install Tribunal and then Bloodmoon

i installed tribunal a long time ago so i don't think that is the issue.

are you saying i should uninstall morrowind completely and reinstall all 3 of them again?
.... if you are we may have a problem - i don't know how to back up saved games and mods and all of that stuff

In what order did you install the patches?

Type C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\patch\md5sums.exe -h for help

Usage: C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\patch\md5sums.exe [-noperce
nt] filespec1 [filespec2 ...]

Normally, a percent done indicator is shown for very large files. The -n switch
suppresses this (e.g. for use in scripts). Usage examples:

C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\patch\md5sums.exe original.doc cop
y*.doc
C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\patch\md5sums.exe -n c:\temp > log

Press ENTER to exit

is that what you're after? (i can see you banging your head against the desk!)

Drag Morrowind.exe onto the MD5 hash executable, and then post the output from that.

...Okay, so your executable is identical in its contents to the executable from a working North American 1.6 installation. I think it's safe to say that the problem doesn't lie there.

Try just giving in and reinstalling. If that doesn't work, make a post to the official forums -- this may be a common problem. If you don't get a response there, it may be that you'll need to hexedit portions of Bloodmoon.esm to get rid of the snow (and thus, the error).
Mohrdechaia
reinstalling bloodmoon (i've already done this numerous times) or uninstalling and reinstalling morrowind and tribunal as well?

do you think this could be a problem with some of the mods i'm using?
Marxist ßastard
Reinstall Morrowind as a whole. And no, this can't be a problem regarding plugins -- the problem (as far as I can tell) is that, although your executable is perfectly fine, the engine refuses to recognize the new weather types introduced with Bloodmoon (namely, snow and blizzard).
Mohrdechaia
do i have to uninstall morrowind before reinstalling? and if so, do i only need to backup the saves folder so as not to lose my games?
Marxist ßastard
Some n00btard has left very "detailed" (read: walks you through how to delete a file) instructions on how to cleanly reinstall Morrowind that he obviously ripped from Bethesda -- either that, or he refers to himself as "we" and "the technical support staff" to make himself feel important.

Either way, I suggest that you follow them.

I know this is an extremely old thread but the reason he got that error was most likely because he may have installed two patches and not just one.

In one of my more brilliant moments I installed bloodmoon patch before tribunal. For some odd reason I thought that they played out that way in the story line. I got that entire error repeated over and over during installation until I applied the patches in the correct order of tribunal then bloodmoon.

All is good and I can get lost in my game again.....lol. ph34r.gif
