almost every electronic thing in this household has a problem the computers dont work right the playstation broke and the satelite for television blacks out all of the time, I live in canada.
we thought that the only electroniqe game thing that doesnt choose to kill itself is the xbox, or so we thought.
this morning I played morrowind GOTY and it worked fine and when I got home my brothers were playing halo 2 when they got bored they were going to put on simpsons hit and run. when they put it on the xbox sat trhere and made noises and grunting things, they asked me to have a look and I rebooted it like 10 times but giving it time in the middle to wait. but eventually when I put in GOTY it sat and said that either the disk was brocken or dirty or that it wasnt an xbox game, thats when I got really pissed off and I started yelling at it and giving it the middle finger.
what SHOULD I DO?!? I experimented with several disks and none worked it started slowing down bfore it just didnt play games *(like the loading screens would be long before the gam,e started)
PLEASE please help me as much as you can, my parents wont get me a new xbox since they had bought my old one 2 and a half years ago

Did you try taking it to wherever you bought it, and seeing if they could fix it? Of course, after 2.5 years, warranty would likely be gone, but still, it'd be cheaper than buying a new one. Also, open up the computer, see how much dust is deposited in it, that *might* be part of the problem, since ALL electronics seem effected. Or, you could just write nasty letters about MS, they deserve it

Try calling up the Microsoft or somethin they can alway's help or go to xbox.com and check there they may have answers for you. I should have gottan an extended warrenty when my box brock down And as for your TV try getting cable it works. By the way i don't think the moderators like profanity (4th paragraph the way you desribed your electronics).

My Xbox is dying out, ltierally. It has become more sluggish, slow, and overall a worse-condition platform than when I got it the night of release. Its not absued or anything, but I wodner if Wal-Mart rigged the XBOX's so you ahd to get another in a year or two...
ive opened my box, WAY MORE than once. Im thinking of putting a Linux fedora on it. Considering the controller prots are jstu USB prots, and the ahrd drive a regular old hard drive, A Seagate..

Does anyone ever read what they post?
Yeah I
can work it out but I shouldn't have to spend time on it!
Chaosmaker, we don't like swearing but it's more the words that are banned on tv that I look out for. Other moderators may feel differently.

Disk dirty error?
Sounds like a failing DVD drive. These can be easily replaced. Open it, take the drive out and replace it with a standard DVD drive and take the front off and put the Xbox Front on. OK, so the tray won't look the same, but at least it *ought* to work.
I wouldn't be surprised judging by the age if it's fitted with a Thompson DVD drive.
These are the most common ones to fail and cause dirty disc errors as well as loading failures in games.
You can usually tell when it's acting up because it'll start making loud whirring noises until it's sorted itself.
It's a right pain when this happens to people on Xbox Live as you just get "Player Failed to Load" (Halo 2) and you can never tell what blighter is causing the problems...
ARGH..
