I'd just like to make a quick comment for people's notice.

I would like to apologise for, well, the impressively blunt language I've been using of late. But I'd be lying if I did.

MeMod was a project we put a huge amount of effort into - all of us, from the devs right down the the newest members of the team.

And then the rug was pulled from under our feet in the worst possible way. There was no closure, no end, no expected incident, just *pop* that's it, game over. It left a lot of things unfinished, as a team, as a project, as a dream. for those of us who were so heavily involved that it was a major element of our work, MeMod's passing was in some ways a bereavement, one we're still getting to grips with.
It's that which means that we;ll defent it's reputation, and, at the same time, which angers us completely when requests to let it lie are ignored.
MemOd was a baby daughter, the lover who left you, the Gordian knot, all bound into one. Taken away before it could become something, and we're still trying to work out how to deal with that closure.

That's why a few recent posts have been vitriolic and venemous as hell. There's only so much I can smile and nod and simpler and be polite to before my patience wore away fully.

I'm in that snarly pissed-off stage of dealing with it, just now.

Suz.

and if anyone argues with that, I'll prise their kneecaps off with a crowbar and make maracas out of 'em smile.gif

(only joking. I'll use my teeth, not a crowbar.)

Why are you apologising for being angry with people who don't listen? (KFM, Luxar, maybe others)

Because I could've easily offended everyone else with those vitriol spewing rants o' Doom and not just the particular f*ckmuppets who deserved it....

In my eyes, your apology is not needed. Yes, the language WAS a bit too blunt smile.gif But I think anyone would behave the same way you did, if not worse. At least I would.
When I first heard that MEMod was dead, I stood silent in thought for about 20 minutes. Then I thought "well, things move on, a new mod will probably pick up the peaces, and so on". It's dead, and I've come to accept it, like many others here. If someone doesn't accept it, then he's just being stubborn, or lazy (didn't read all the posts). I believe that such people after a while don't deserve to be talked with. The mod is dead; get over it.

Well, speaking personally, if you had anything to be forgiven for (which you didn't), it should've been put down to certain people being utter tosspots regarding a matter which is close to your heart and which had already been covered by you and therefore they should have known better.

EDIT: I've just had a look at the MEmod site. If there is anyone even considering the merest possibility of repeating these mistakes, they should go read what's on the front page.

Glad to know that most people'd worked out why I was ranting and were'nt too surprised, it seems.

(still... I could'nt resist swapping my avatar for Johnny the Homicidal Maniac for a while....it was sort of asking to be done.....)

Yikes!

I havn't been reading the forums as religiously as I used to but when I came back and saw all the fighting... Suz, yeah you got out of line there for a while, it's understandable but you should not be given a pat on the back for it. However, you expressed your regrets and that's all that anyone can ask of you after such an outburst. I know that MEMod's closure hit me pretty hard expecially since Kahz and I were litterally a few days away from having a working devDB build for us to test which could have made out progress exponentially greater, but I know that my pain is nothing compared to your and Theta's.

For everyone else, I will echo what everyone else has been saying but no one seems to be able to do (and understandably so): Let MEMod die. It's over and done with and all the hatchets should be burried. The team has split up into other groups and we've all moved on to other things. Some of us are working on Project Pheonix and others are working on Druid the Legend, myself and most of the MEMod Devs are working on Here be Dragons. Focus on the future now, we have so much to look forward to from so many talented people who have honed their skills through MEMod's ups and downs and we have all learned a great deal about working as a group on a large project.

I wish everyone in PP and the Druid mods the best and hope that all their efforts will be rewarded. As for myself, I look forward to making a great game with you Suz, we've got a hell of a team and we've got a hell of a game to make.

How I want to know what Here be Dragons is going to be about!
Please give us something soon, lest I'm going to have a stroke!
