The MEMod may be dead, there may be a glimse of hope in my eyes, but the fact that it's dead and may continue to be so is greater than my hopes.

I hope that the team starts on another mod, because those who worked on this mod/TC must have been some of the most hardworking modders in the world (atleast I consider them to be).

This is my thank-you post to all those who are and those who were involved in this project, every time there was a new screenshot I was speechless for days, your goal was a good and canon mod for all of us that are/and were in love with tolkiens world, but sadly this mod wasn't to be.

Probably, and most likely you feel sader than me when it comes to the loss of this project, but I want to say thank you for your effort, you have sacrificed much, and still i cannot give anything to you...in my book you are hereoes.

Rest in peace MEMod.
Teamsters and Developers, you have all done a great job, i will still continue to lurk at these forums, and search for more hopes, and post when I can.

And all of you who think theese modders have done a great job (as in keeping us on our toes for years/months/weeks/days) then post your thoughts and gratitude!

Ps: If any moderators or the Admin finds this post to meaningless then just lock it...fine by me, it's just to show my gratitude for the people that had a dream and wished to share it with the rest of us.

...thank you

Thank you!

I, too wish to add my thanks. Though I have stated it many times, I guess this makes it official. You guys managed to survive a lot - and I'm assuming the last 8 months or so have been a living hell for you. My hat is off to you all.

Yes, I bow before you and you have my greatest respect and condolences. And I can honestly say that you are the greatest team of modders I ever saw. This is why I hope that you don't let this failure discourage you and move on, let the past (and with it this project) be and seek out what lies in the undiscovered country ahead. Life goes on and there are surely more projects, maybe even better and grander projects. Perhaps you will later on even say that you were lucky to let go of this project, for when you wouldn't have you wouldn't have found the greater wonders you did. At least this is what I hope for you all.

Thank you for everything you did, for all the power and effort you put into this project, even when it seems now that it was in vain.

Yeah I'm another half-stalker but I have been watching the mod for a while and it is a real shame to see it go down. But you guys did a great job and I wish you the best of luck in whatever (if anything) you decide to do next.

You are, and always will be, an inspiration and a source of excitement to us all! Once again I give you my thanks for all the hard work and love you put into this project.

Mourn not overmuch! Mighty was the fallen,
meet was his ending. When his mound is raised,
women then shall weep. War now calls us!

With my very basic Quenya I'm trying to encourage you... Did it work? tongue.gif

I saw the PC Gamer Review of the MEMod and thought I'd come and have a look as it sounded great. A Middle Earth based Mod? cool.gif Majorly insightful idea and just what the RPG community needed I thought. And then I get here and find its now dead. rip_1.gif bye2.gif angry02.gif Well Personally I think thats just a major ranting2.gif ! Ah wel , lets hope that you lot can make a good Mod to stand in. And Thanks for trying to make our gaming a better experience, always great!!

It was really a bitter welcome after coming back from holidays. Incredulousness, anger, speechlessness, frustration. Heaven was so close at hand and then collapsed out of a sudden, I was at a loss of words.

My deepest sympathies to everybody who wasn’t only desperately waiting for the most ambicious adapation of Tolkiens world, like me and so many others, but to all of you, who invested such an amount of work, enthusiasm and commitment to MEMod.
Twice I had to experience similar failure at work, that’s why I surmise to have an idea how you must have felt when you realized the bitter truth. How much harder must it have been as it was an idealistic project from your heart. I can’t tell.

But we could almost touch this dream with our fingertips and that’s what I want to thank you for. It makes me feel comfortable to know, there’s a bunch of people out there dreaming a dream that comes so close to mine and even beyond.
And it makes me fortunate to see that some of them are willing to use their inventive talent to make the dream come true.

THANK YOU, no matter how it turned out now – sometimes the path is the destination.

btw I don’t really like the talk about MEMod being dead! I prefer to think of it as the sleeping beauty somewhere underneath some mountain. And maybe, one day when its time has come, someone will find a hidden path and bring it back to the bright daylight. Yes, that’s better *sigh* innocent.gif

It is not easy to see something you have worked with for so long, vanish into the air... like a sigh brushing up on a though. Perhaps one day you can send this wonderful mod out to the public, but my hopes are not up. The news about the death of MEMod turned me into Marvin for a couple of minutes (the depressed robot in Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy), and all I did was to lie with my face down into the floor 'cause, hey! Nothing was worth anything anymore so I could just as well lie there.

But good luck guys and girls, and please don't let this end your mod-making. You all have a incredible talent, so make something nice for us. But most important of all, make something you can be proud of, and MEMod was just that.

Thank you for everything you wanted to give us.

I'll end this post filled with absolute gibberish now, peace out.

I've been following the MeMod since about this time last year and just came back from a few weeks of not checking the site to hear about the end of the project.
I feel a bit sad, because now I will probably never have the experience of walking through a faithful recreation of Middle-Earth. But in truth, I feel much more frustration and sadness for you guys to see that you've put so much dedication and work into this only to see this dream shattered. With the talent on the team and the professional attitude that has been displayed during the last months and even in the last final decision I know that this would have been something that I would have enjoyed tremendously.
Now all that remains is to wish suzerain, DarkOne and all the other team members good luck in their future projects and a big thanks for their dedication to this community, no matter how it turned out in the end.
