...keep the publc forums open? There is pretty much nothing left to dicuss and it only promotes useless posts like "...big corporations $uck..." or "Let's start a letter writing campaign..." I can understand keeping the ME trivia forum open and even the mods' private forum open but the public ME forums are producing a lot of posts that are upsetting the mods.

We will keep it open for now... I might make some new rules that will get you suspended for 2 days from posting if you break them.. Once we close the forums though everyone might leave and then any further updates wont be noticed.

besides, it's still a community. Some of us don't ever look at the other channels other than the MEMod ones.

If you'd like, we can always close the MeMod forums for your account.

I wouldent have anything to do in school if you close it. I mean, school are for those who don't have a fast connection at home, right? I maybee even have to go to some lessons in school if you close the forums... horrible isn't it?
...No, I'm just kiddding, but I would be verry sad if you close the ME-Mod Forum.

I definately don't think you should cut the MEMod forums, at least not untill the team decides what they want for the future! This is no longer where we follow a mod, this has become a place for us to follow the progress of a team!
Besides; I love you guys. (Spoken with a Cartman-voice)
Kahenraz,
You can close my account should you choose to do so. I have no illusions about any forum being a democracy and so it is well within your rights to close my account if you feel my posts are disruptive.
That being said, what now is the purpose of this forum? Yes, it is a “community” where people with similar interests and goals get together but since the announcement of Memod’s termination it appears most of the posters are simply pissing off the developers. This may be one of those posts that piss off the developers, though that is not its intent.
The goals and interests of this forum have been terminated from being released. Are there new goals the developers and “community” would like to discuss?
If the developers are hunkering down and waiting to see if the copyright holders would assure them that they would not be sued should the mod be released that may take years. There will come a time when Morrowind is considered obsolete and while I personally don’t think it would be a waste of time for Memod to be released on using Morrwind’s engine (I still play RB3D and old Talonsoft Battleground games that were produced in the late 1990’s), many people will have moved on. Unfortunately at the rate of decline PC games are being produced we may eventually find that the only games we have to play are old.
I realize it has been discussed about the possibility of porting Memod to a newer game engine in the future, but if I remember correctly Daerk was the one who said it could be done. I’m not sure how much faith can be placed on that transpiring if the possibility should ever arrive.
Like everyone else I hate to see the work, talent and dedication of the Memod developers go to waste. Perhaps I phrased my original post incorrectly. I guess the simplest way to put it is; does anything come next, other than socializing?
I’m not trying to stir the fecal matter. I think this is a talented group of people and I am interested if any other projects are to be pursued.
Thank you,
Eno

I have no intention of closing your account. My offer was, in jest, to hide the MeMod portion of the MWSource forums for your account only.

I don't see any reason to close the MEMod forums down... there is still a lot of action going on in them... in fact, I think we've seen more people post topics in the last few weeks then we've seen for a long time. We're more active on the forums now that the mod is dead then we ever were when it was alive and well...

I must admit that I only posted one or two times when the mod was alive, but now I post at least one per day...
Sad, isn't it?

Anyway these boards would be the first place to alert people if/when we decide to make something else.

True. While closing the forums could stop spam, it could also potentiall limit the ways in which the Devs can contact us, if anything comes up.

Ok - we're currently in the process of tidying up the forums. This will involve deletion of the private forums, since they'll no longer be needed... after all, MEMod has ceased production, and any new projects formed by various groups among the teams will require their own forums.
General MEMod Discussion will remain open for as long as Dark0ne is happy to keep it so. We've started moving through threads of interest from the requests and questions forums - in effect, General MEMod will become a 'best of'.... a sort of memorial to the dream that was MEMod, and the 3 years of effort to make it come true.
Also, it will be a place where ex-team members can announce their projects, and leave links to their websites and forums.
Any potential releases of MEMod material, which are still being discussed, will also be announced here.
During the next week or so we'll also be pruning a lot of spam, and repetitive threads, to make the information to be kept easier to find.

Thank you.
But... Woulden't our post-counts decrease a lot if you delete this forums?
Theta Orionis
Oct 22 2004, 05:38 PM
But you're not here for the post count, are you?

We'll also be doing some spring cleaning to weed out redundant threads.... so post counts may suffer. Unfortunately that's unavoidable, though.
And for now the General MEMod forum will stay open - though that's not to be taken as an excuse for spamming!

Of-course I'm not here for postcounts, but It's a funny idea, and 99 % of my posts are in the me-mod forums
[I]*Whisper* Hey, do you know a way to get more counts without posting? */Whisper*
I don't care if I loose my counts, where did you get that from?
No, just kidding, i really don't care (not joking this time

), it was just a thought.
