How about: All of the above.

i'm with slaiv.... all of the above would be nice. as good as TES3 is, if all 4 were added they'd have an unquestionable winner. of course i'll be buying it anyway so i guess it's not that deep

If they could add a much deeper combat engine, that's one thing. If they could add a much better graphics engine, that's another. Oh, and that two-player element could be snazzy.
However, all of those add up to one thing: I'm gonna have to buy a new computer, because this one won't run it. Of course, with all the nice hardware and sweet games coming out in October and November, a new computer or an X-Box might become necessary.

Most certainly a better engine. Even though Morrowind is and always will be a legend in the videogame world...the graphics and combat system is kinda outdated.

A better engine is the top priority. More weapons, and better graphics, can always be added via plugins. I don't really care for multiplayer... the best games to play in multiplayer are, in my opinion, short and simple, not huge and epic.

Better engine definately. The current one is WAY too full of bugs. Better graphics is always nice. New armour and weapons goes without saying... they're not exactly going to do it without that are they?

Two player would be nice but not really necessary I think. Especially not if it means they'd have to compromise on the single player aspect.

All I have to say: better combat should be the NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. Morrowind's was terrible.
Oh, and more enemy types, too.

Yup!
I totally agree with Slaiv! there was a horrible combat engine in Morrowind
And i think there is always good to have a lot of weapons and armours

But i think the graphic was just great, and i loved the weather engine.

This shouldn't be a problem. Since the game is apparently going to entail running around parts of Tamriel along with parts of Oblivion, we should be able to get many more enemy types. For instance, Oblivion should have a more plentiful variety of Daedra and ... dare I hope? ... the Dwemer.

True. If done right, it could be two-player, but I'm happy with single.

I've never agreed with the whole trend of creating these huge, almost plotless MMORPGs. It just seems like a way to cash in on a franchise without actually putting effort into creating a really tight, epic atmosphere. The same thing goes with how I feel about multiplayer. I think there are certain games out there that have great a single-player plot, and they also manage to pull off multiplayer well. However, there are many more games that fail in one or both of these aspects.
My fear for Oblivion is this: BethSoft will focus on creating multiplayer for the X2 and the PS3 while letting the single-player plot take a backseat. The specific reason I chose Morrowind in the first place was because it had no multiplayer aspect, leaving the designers to solely focus on the single-player. With Oblivion, I fear that they may do with the plot what they did with the character models in Morrowind.
Does anybody have that copy of GameInformer yet?

It might be nice to have a 2 player option, but unfortunately it's already been confirmed that it will be single player only... all the other stuff in the list is good though

Not going to happen. There is sufficient reason and explanation for the Disappearence of the Dwarves that having them make a reappearence would constitute a major defiance of lore and fact. The Dwarves are gone and are not going to come back.

I dont think a two player engines necessary either, but the graphics and engine need an oil, thats my vote, the graphics.

Of course all of those things would be nice, most of all the engine. But if it where ot have multiplayer i would think it should be kinda junky so they can focus on the single player game. When i say junky i mean really just an arena type multiplayer battle. You can play onlineof split-screen(consols) it wont be like playing multiplayer in the single player world. It should just be a place to fight against other people to show off your guy or whatever. Also betting on the matches would be kinda cool too.

I would like to just point out that before more posts are made. This topic was made on Sep 9 2004 ...
So if people want to talk about a the next one being TESV, It might be better to start a new topic about that one to get fresh ideas about the same topic, not old ideas and others adding to it.

I'd say multiplayer.
