I have an idea. happy.gif

My idea is centered around, well, noobs like myself. On these MEMod forums it is rather hard (at least in my opinion) to acquire the information one might seek about the mod. Unless the information is covered in “Daerk On” or other Information threads, it is time consuming and much harder than it has to be to find the things you are looking for. My suggestion is that somebody, or more than one person, should find all the threads containing information posted by an official MEMod member, (whether it be “wait and see” or a large informational post) take this information, and put it into a thread such as the “Daerk On” thread. I know this is a rather large task, and many many threads contain information as such, but some people might be willing to do something, and as a result reduce the difficulty in acquiring information desired. The Informational Thread (as I will now refer to it) will be separated into different sections (as is “Daerk On”) and within each section there will be questions (just like “Daerk On”) and answers, from MEMod members. If the answer to a question is “wait and see” or something to that effect, than the answer in the Informational Thread can simply be, “This information has not been released” or something similar. Each time someone makes a thread, and a question is answered by a MEMod member, it can be “archived”, if you will, in the Informational Thread, in it’s respective category.

Well I hope my idea is considered and possibly implemented. I just think it will make these forums a better source of information, and help noobs, like myself, find information they seek. Oh, and if it is decided that my idea can be used, I will help collect information from threads. Although school for me is starting soon…I’ll try and help every time I get a chance. biggrin.gif

That's what the Daerk On thread's for.
Manwë
Well, in that case, somebody needs to update it! I can't find half the information that's scattered about MEMod's forums in that thread.

Apart from the 'Daerk on' post there is also the search function to help you find what you are looking for. In addition to the keywords you can also specify the author of the post, which should help narrow down the search results.

However, if you could give a few specific examples of the kind of information you'd like to see included in such a thread we'll get the PR department to have a look and see if the 'Daerk on' thread needs to be updated.

Things such as the thread about Carrying things in MEMod, fishing, all of those type of things, that have an answer from a dev that gives some information, useful to people who are interested in the mod. If you want I'll find all the threads like thatfor you... wink.gif Or the PR team, just I'd like to see it be done.

Well - for a start, the second link contains nothing that would warrant its inclusion in such an 'information' thread tongue.gif

That is really the kind of thread where the search function comes into its own.

However, I imagine we will be looking into updating the 'Daerk on' thread at some point since a lot of new information has been posted.

Yeah, I know you're all very busy, but "Daerk On" could use a little update!

Specifically, it would be most excellent to have a "Suz On" and a "Wookie On" since, between the two of them, they answer probably the most questions with the most information. The rest of the Devs answer questions too, but we don't want the Search function to get too lonely.

OR, you could do what I do when I have a hankerin' for a definitive update on this project: Click on Suz's screename, then the link that says "find all posts by this member." Sure, I have to put up with some yammering about goats and goths, but in the end, I feel I'm a better person for it. wink.gif
