Well, copy and paste can be your friends when doing big jobs like that. Place one kanet, then with it selected, press CTRL+C. Then CTRL+V. That'll paste it. Place it, then select them both (by selecting one, then holding CTRL and clicking the other) and press CTRL+C again. CTRL+V and hey presto! Four. Position them, select all four, same again, eight. 8 becomes 16, 16 becomes 32, etc etc etc. You can fill a field pretty fast using that technique

and by positioning them differently inbetween copying you can make it look reasonably different, so it doesn't all look cloned. There's not really any other quick way to do it I'm afraid.
