I have just started a new game with a Sorceror, and i was wondering what armor is best for him, if any?

I think it should depend on the type of sorceror you will be playing as.

Lets say you will be good in conjuration, and you will be summning monsters for direct battle and materializing 'bound' Daedric weapons and armor for melee attacks and such. You would definately want to use heavy armor.

If you prefer to bunny hop or levitate around your target and launch projectile Damage spells, it may favor you more to wear light armor. I personally like this best because it because [protection + mobility > cost + weight].

Maybe you arent going to be a combat oriented mage and use magic to help out in every day life, ex: Unlock, Levitate, Chameleon, Restoration and the like. Then it wouldn't matter what armor you use and you could very well go around with a high Unarmored skill and be fine.

Hope this helps! biggrin.gif

Bound armor is light armor. It just looks like Daedric.

Right. It does say "Light" and has zero weight, but your Light Armor skill doesn't affect the numerical Armor Rating of the pieces. I was just pointing out the benefits of heavy and Bound armor in melee, as opposed to traditional light armor. But thanks for mentioning that. ./

Just curious, Vaan, what kind of sorceror are you making?

One who summons creatures, and uses elemental magic.

If i were you i would just go for light armor, cause with glass (not too hard to obtain) u get 166 ar at max skill at a weight of about 80, and if u have tribunal u can get ur hands on some dark brotherhood armor real easy, which offers a 100 ar at a weight of maybe 60 (not sure). Anyway if you have tribunal unarmored is also a good option cause instead of the max of 20 ar in original morrowind, the expansions buff it up to 65 ar.
Still, it's your choice in the end happy.gif

my newset theme character is an assassin and a mediocre sorceror. while most of the time he summons armor and creatures for melee, once he gets better he will be able to dance around or levitate and shoot fireballs. so my guy majors in both light and medium armor. i know its a waste of a slot in the long run, but my themed characters usually dont last but like 15 levels so I think its cool diversifying my armor.

A good spell also is to summon fire ice and lightning shields. Those always help and if you have all three summoned at once, it looks pretty cool, if not dizzying.

okay, well thanks for all the advice.

You May Want Any of the following Items as a Sorceror I wouldnt recomend others

Firstly If U want an unenchanted Curaiss go with Deadric With The Maximum Enchantment Points,
dont worry You Cephalod helm weighing only 2 will make up for the heavy armour 100 EP on that

U may want to consider Dragonbone Cuirass If your a spellcaster as 100% fire res helps
Also the Royal Signet ring If you have Morrowind GOTY or Tribunal 100 Magicka Resistance Be aware though Magicka/ Magick resistance is not frost/fire/shock/poison damage only Weakness to shock/frost etc For example if you are 100% fire resistant a weakness to fire spell can still damage you though fire damage itself cannot

Also Ebony Mail is Elite

If you need locations to these Items Say so and Ill post below in a SPOILER section
