Hi. Sorry this is just something that has been bugging me, so here it goes.

I know quite alot of things have been released by the team over the past 6 months not just screens and concept but information also which is very good. But it seems that most of the time the team does not release things unless put under extreme pressure by the MeMod Fan Base lol Maybe it's just a coincidence who knows.

I know this is not always the case but those concept that where released where only released to clam people down because as i remember things were getting pretty heated up and it's happened many times before. But the forum seems to go through periods of peace and it becomes relitevly quiet and then is suddenly a flame war awhile.

My point is that the forum has been quiet for awhile and its innevitable that some one is going to start a thread saying 'Where is the Beta' (sorry i said it) but it's going to happen and then both sides are going to be drawn again and you know what will happen.

So wouldn't it be easier to just like release a single screen every now and then or concept or even a bit of info every now and then just to keep people occupied whilst they wait for the beta. Just a suggestion. It would aviod much grief for the team.

P.S. Just so both sides know this thread is not inntended to be a 'Where is the beta' thread or 'Give me something' It is a reasonable suggestion so please dont turn it into a flame war. thx biggrin.gif

It has just been so quiet here. And say what you want but still... December 18? Seriously blush.gif ? It's a long time

But keep working hard. Maybe it's worth waiting and seeing.

Duh. wink.gif

Chill and wait for the game/beta/whatever you want.

Personally, I suggest a "Screen of the Week/Month" feature, both on the MEMod site and the MEMod forums. A locked thread, in which only MEMod Devs and/or Teamsters can post a new screen every week/month, according to whichever the Devs choose.

Just a suggestion. tongue.gif

I don't really mind lack of screens and other materail, because i figure that the less we see the more the devs are working.

If we haven't seen any screenshots in a while then the devs must be working hard on another aspect of the game like important scripting tongue.gif , rather than working specifically on something to please the fans... I will just be happy once the betas and eventually final are realeased, until then I have no problem unless ME-Mod dies. So don't flip off the life support any time soon suz!

I agree. Like I said, my idea was just a suggestion. happy.gif

OMG, blink.gif
how long does it take to link a screenshot?! ...1sec!

well just don't think its the entire team's fault, because theres about 1 or 2 people who make the decision to release info.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A SCREENSHOT? angry03.gif

First, you have to make all the models. Second, you have to texture all the models. Third, you have to make sure that anything incorporated into the screenshot doesn't reveal anything about the mod, the timeline, or what races will be incorporated. Next, you have to clear the screenshot with Suz, as a double-check. Then, you have to host the image on the MEMod site. To do this, you have to update the site and add a new section that holds the shots, and another section on the main site to preview the shot. Finally, you have to link to it.

Stop being ignorant and have some respect towards the Devs and what they're doing for FREE.

Thanks, Atti. smile.gif

And thanks to Slaiv, who explained pretty well just what goes into a screenshot release. There are more steps to it than that - so it really isn't a case of the evil MEMod devs and teamsters keeping all the goodies to themselves. When we have something suitable for release we will release it. If we don't, no amount of whinging and whining will result in a release - on the contrary, it will just result in some of us getting very pissed off, and be in fact quite counterproductive.

Since this kind of thread - no matter how well-intentioned it might have been, or how often the thread starter states that he/she is not intending to start a flamewar - inevitably leads to flaming I am tempted in future to lock any such thread outright, and, unless ameliorating circumstances apply, give the thread starter a warning for inciting flamewars.

This kind of thread is really about as constructive as an 'are we nearly there yet' whine during a long journey - it doesn't get you there any faster, but just gets people in a bad mood. So please stop.

For screenshot releases, I'm afraid you'll have to bear with us and wait. For release of information, the best approach is to ask a well-informed and thought-provoking question which piques the interest of a dev...and you never know, you might just get an exhaustive answer.

additional reason for no screenies of late.

images of say, a rock, or a plant really are'nt exciting, however integral to the mod such work is.

hence, no screenies while we're in the current stage of deveolpment for the memod, just now.

later, when we've got stuff that's worth seeing, rest assured you'll get to see it.
