i'm thinking what he meant was real in the game... as in a readable text somewhere... you can correct me if i'm wrong on that dotr. and if it exists as a text/book/scroll anywhere in the elder scrolls series you can check my thread in the off topic section on "morrowind books" i found a link to a site that has every bit of ingame written lore from the elder scrolls series.

In the game, The Elder Scrolls are the prophcies of what will happen throughtout all time in Nirn. The Elder Scrolls are long in length, so they are split up. Noone knows how many parts there are (mainly cause Beth never said so) so it gets numbered as we go along. The Elder Scrolls Part II foretold all of the incidents to happen in "Daggerfall", while III foretold "Morrowind" and I the events of "Arena".

i have to say that Bethesda can BS a helluva storyline. I've been reading the ingame books and even those short stories are decently written.

have any of the elder scrolls taken place with access to cyrodil? if so would you not simply be able to walk in and look at the scrolls?
OOH OOH (read: excited)
maybe ES4 will give access to at least the scrolls up to the current story point.

While Arena did feature Cyrodil city, it was quite impossible to enter the room. The Elder Scrolls are locked up in a heavily guarded room. You can't just waltz in and read the scrolls. Mainly cause at the time Beth wasn't sure if they were gonna continue the storyline of the Elder Scrolls.
