Reaction to the DLC seems varied and there are some highly entertaining, if not utterly perplexing stories circulating the web about trying to even get the damn thing. So much so one site even provides a "How-to" with pointers on trying to get the thing.
I don't know how, but Microsoft have some how managed to make a system even more terrible than the original Steam, and Bethesda have jumped on board, even for the PC that doesn't need all this XBox Live knock-off crap.
And don't get me started on the mod being 800 points and points only being available in 500 or 1000 increments...
To those of you who have managed to get the DLC and play through it, how are you doing? Feel free to leave your experiences here. I'll try and keep a level head on the whole matter, but it just seems utterly ridiculous to me.

I finished the entire thing in somewhere between 1 and 2 hours (probably around 90 minutes). It's a (even) shallow(er) FPS mode of Fallout 3.
Ammo and health dispensers.
Predefined weapon locations.
Pointless and irrelevant choices.
Extremely linear.
Additionally, it doesn't even make sense as what it is supposed to be: a military training simulation. How helpful is it to teach soldiers that the battlefield will have magical ammo and health dispensers every few feet (which the enemies refuse to use), that they cannot take equipment from enemies or fallen allies, that equipment doesn't degrade, that they will be teleported away after completing their objective, etc.? It isn't, at all.
As usual, Bethesda has poor playtesting. See the winterized power armor, which has at least 3 blatantly obvious issues that were not discovered and fixed pre-release. See the buggy Dark Brotherhood Armor (oh, I mean Chinese Stealth Suit).
The Covert Ops perk is a joke. An embarrassing and lazy joke.

As for the dlc i am finding it alot of fun. It adds a whole new feel to the game and i have found it very well done i havent had any problems with it yet but i havent played through all of it yet either. The new stealth armor is cool looking. I have read you cant enter it after you win it so I hope mods can fix that=/

For now, and until (hopefully) a CD version is released, I'm holding back on purchasing anything to expand Fallout 3 from Live and that includes the DLC that extends the game beyond the MQ.

I've now changed my mind. heh. I certainly won't be picking up this first one. Hopefully they'll correct their mistakes for the rest (which look more interesting anyway).
Cheers.
