Brother None over at NMA Fallout sent me word a couple of weeks back (before I went to China) about some of the general information available over at their site. I promised I would pump it and I'm a bit late I know; but better late than never!

Here's the low-down on what they have to offer:

A basic character stats guide

A Fallout 3 world map
An interactive Flash-based Fallout 3 world map complete with secondary locations
Interesting item/NPC locations

A detailed recruitable followers guide with stats, items and instructions

A complete items list
Includes locations for rare/unique items, including long information lists for books
As well as a list of interesting items to keep

A quest guide, consisting of a main quest guide including all the possible ending configurations. Technically, the configurations add up to more than 200, but it's not particularly convincing.

Optional quest guide; these are all quests listed in your PipBoy, achievements on the 360.

Freeform quest guide; these are quests not listed in the PipBoy but still interesting, from search quests to fetch quests to trade quests.

I like NMA too it really is a great site. Sometimes (It seems to be ALOT here) people give them alot of crap for falling in love with a game and not wanting other people to screw it up. Can you blame them if they are a little anal about Fallout Canon sometimes?

I honestly feel they are a fairly large factor on why we got Fallout 3 at all in the first place.

NMA doesn't deserve a plug for info on a game that they crapped on every day until its release, and a developer who they also demonized and foamed at the mouth at every day since they got the Fallout license. They are the most hate filled section of a fanbase I've ever seen. They go way (way) beyond a simple love for a franchise.

They are the reason Fallout fans are perceived as crazy and they should be ignored so they fall further and further into irrelevance and obscurity, and so people can finally stop cringing when they hear the term "Fallout fans".

I think I'd be pretty pissed if Bethesda sold the Elder Scrolls license to EA (for example) and EA decided to create a strategy game that broke large parts of the Elder Scrolls canon in order to fit with what they as developers do best.

All that is clearly hypothetical; especially the part about EA having something their best at. We all know EA are only best at screwing people over and looking for quick $$$.

Vitriol or not, and I agree NMA is not a friendly place, we have always tried to keep our forum and news separate. Newsposts in general have been devoid of snide comments, and reporting his been accurate and fast on Fallout 3 from day 1. We have tried to keep it so the staff's personal opinions would not make the front page unreadable for fans of Fallout 3, and from feedback I got I think we mostly succeeded (there being some exceptions, true).

The same is true for this info. No matter how much vitriol we have bottled up, we would never be as childish as to let our opinions spill over into guides. They are clean (a bit too clean, especially lacking pictures) and informative, and that's it.

That's not to say you shouldn't feel free to boycott NMA if you want to. I'm just saying, I've always tried my best to ensure that the general attitude on the forums was not of detriment to people wanting to simply use the site for info, and I hope to have succeeded far enough to ask people to simply give the site a chance and ignore the forums if they hate 'em.
