According to GamesIndustry.biz Bethesda are potentially looking to release a new Elder Scrolls game around 2010. This comes from a chat with Paul Oughton, publishing executive for Bethesda:

Quote

At the moment we've got Fallout 3 for this year and potentially there's a new Elder Scrolls title in 2010," said Oughton. "At the moment we're not that interested in the Wii. We're going to stick to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. We'll continue to pursue three or four titles a year and go for big titles," he said of the company's publishing plans for the future.

Not quite a grand announcement, and I'm sure Bethesda will be quick to clarify the remark. Watch this space.

One bad thing about that is that all the mods made for oblivion are probly useless for the elder scrolls 5 unless some people can convert them eventualy to fit into the elderscrolls 5.

I hope the system requirements are reasonably low.

I just keep my fingers crossed for a non-online, better-designed, still-moddable TES V. Am I asking for too much ? Time will tell...

I agree with xa_chan. I want it to be offline and still moddable. Im sure it will be seeming as though the past two elder scrolls games have been and it has been immensly popular. I loved oblivion, I just hope TES V will be just as good if not better. :)

I think that the Bethesda team should be looking at the big mods that have been made for oblivion (midas, OOO, deadly reflex, and MMM) and implement more of the ideas produced in these into the enw game, because although i loved oblivion, I wouldnt still be playing it 4 years on if it wasnt for these.

they didnt make enough monsters in the vanilla version or anywhere near enough visulisations of the spells, the fireball snowball and lightning I found were very basic and repetative, the fact a huge firespell would shoot the same tiny fireball that a low level spell would, it seemed a bit crappy.

Also the repetativeness of the dungeons, I know resources need to be reused, but they should definitely offer more variety in the dungeons.

anway end of rant, I still love oblivion and its the best game ive ever played (which may change tommorow after i play fallout 3)
