Nail in the coffin of what was supposed to be a great game? This is almost as sad as it is sickening

Until today i was positive abouth the new parts pack but this morning I saw on the Dutch EA Store that if you buy the digital version of Spore you will get Creepy and Cute for free ....
... well ... I am sure this will happen in most countries now and its really stupid to give away Creepy and Cute for nothing while we that got Spore before have to pay 15 euro or 20 dollars for it.
I know this is the way EA operates since I started to play Sims years ago but to make this offer not even 2 months after the release of Spore even makes me pissed !!!!!!!!!!
______
I already added my 2 pence worth - this has definitely made my mind up that if I bother with any further Spore related software, I won't be paying for them.

Tis the principle, mate, that's all.
They MUST have seen the outpouring on the forums to their audacity at charging $20 for a parts-pack that has less than the original $10 creator and just a short time after the $50 game. They respond to that by throwing more petrol on the fire.

In my view, these part packs are useless.
I also dislike the fact that every stage, more importantly the creature and civilization stage, are completely abandoned once you reach the space stage. No more controlling people or land/water vehicles, no more "converting", no more wandering looking for parts better and more awesome-looking than your last.
They could have done so much better with this game. Why didn't they?
It isn't that bad once you're playing it, but I can see how it will get very old very quickly.
EDIT: Here's an idea, EA. How 'bout you make an expansion which, say, lets you land your ship, explore, control, edit, instead of making expansions which add useless parts to a stage that most people have finished.

Gotta say, Graphics are like a kid drew them, gameplay is horrible, its boring as hell. Biggest waste of money iv even seen. Id rather go back and play the original Sims than Spore.
Nothing redeedming about it at all, got to the ummm.... stage after you leave the water. You start trying to make friends or eat people, well I did the same thing about 20-30 times before getting bored as hell, seeing the different creatures was quite amusing but after about 20 it wasnt amusing anymore.
Dont see how anyone over the age of 10 can keep playing, even my brother who is 13 got bored BEFORE me!
Kinda disappointed with myself i didnt get to the space stage to see if it was any better... but to be honest I dont care... dont feel like im missing out on much.

Howie: If you read the full news post over at the official site, EA has an expansion planned for Spring '09 that will allow you to do just that. Feel free to get out and walk around... come springtime.
New content for Spore
I bought the game primarily because it's something my wife would actually play with me and she got bored within 20 minutes. I kept going because I like the construction aspect (I played Sims to build houses rather than make people pee themselves) and now that I'm in the Space Age, my wife is back into it and she'll play for hours.
There's not a whole lot of substance to the game, but it can be pretty addicting once you reach the Space Age. Hopefully the Spring expansion will inject some much-needed depth to Spore.

I wonder if they are going to change the "fleet system" because I think it sucks how you can only have up to 5 ships and not one of them can be your one of your own. What good is a 5-ship fleet anyway, especially that they fire bombs at cities you just got to surrender, hence causing them to blow up, and the ships die really easily.
Its like "Whee! look at me, I'm new to space and my ship is 10x more powerful than any other!"
The so-called "wars" aren't that impressive, either.
lol...

It would work like this
1. After finishing the Cell stage you are given the option to
A: Evolve Legs and go on land
B: Evolve better fins and stay in the ocean
2. At the end of the creature stage you are again given the option
A. If you choose land it goes on normally with a sequence of you creature going to land
B. If you choose Sea you do the tribal stage (modified buildings of course) underwater.
3.In the civilzation stage your cities are underwater, but you can build vehicles to go on to land.
4. Space stage is normal execpt that your buildings are underwater.
A. Since water does not exist on some planets you have to terraform them to your needs, I suggest that underwater Space Stagers have terraforming tools at their disposal from the start (or you just dispatch water filled domes).
B. They should also have extra landscaping (river and ocean makers) from the start.
Another good idea would be planets that have only water on them.
