If you are being attacked by an assassin when you wake up (Level 6 characters and above playing Morrowind GOTY) when you go to sleep try to put your back to some object (i.e. another bed, table, crate,.... something static- doesn't move at all in the game) if you do this and the assassin comes to attack you they will be stuck in that object and will not be able to even swing at you. Higher level characters this is not necessary to do but is kind of amusing to listen to the sounds that the assassin makes. Note: when doing this you get to keep the valuable "Carved Ebony Dart" which is worth 2000 septims. (just a little bonus of him not being able to move.)

The moron threw his dart at me and I got it in my inventory automatically. =o) I didnt make him run in a table but I beat his @$$ with my Sword of the Pheonix's Fire (from the Pheonix Shrine Mod). I had just gotton the sword and the idiot tried to kill me.. 2 hits and he was dead.

They should have really put something on the assination attemps for the PC. It's so stupid when you're at level one, sleep outside of Seyda Neen on the first day, and are automatically attacked and killed.

Ironically, I've never had him throw the dart at me...

I'll try that little cheat though, NPCs can be real stupid sometimes. lol
