First off, i'll apologise to Daerk for breaking the rules of this forums which he has just laid down in the pinned thread, but i feel that here the information i'm posting will be read by the people who would most want to know it. If you feel that it should be moved, then go ahead.

Right, now i've gotten that out of the way, let us continue. Having read the previously mentioned pinned thread and some others, i set out to boldly find a forum that would cater for the random spurious rubbish that we feel the need to release into the wild. Thus, i chanced upon this, The Tokien Forum. Whether it can fully claim that title i'm not sure about, but from the amount of lurking i've done it seems to be well-run, organised and fun. Its not as advanced as these boards because they are based on the vBulletin system, so don't expect the jazzy yet dark good looks pf this site.

They only have a small membership (at the time of posting almost 2,000) so i feel we have a duty as 'Net users to add the benefit of our worldly knowledge to their site ( ).

It does look nice! A wonderful place to talk about Tolkien Stuff, I still wish this forum had that though... :( But I will attempt to join and complete my duty as net-user as soon as possible!

Edit: There! Just joined, I see some people listened to your post besides me! I cant seem to figure out how to change my avatar though...

another good site that I would recomend is Valaquenta.com. They have very in depth discussions about Tolkien's writings, especially the silmarillion. The depth of knowledge some of the posters on that forum have is amazing, and it is a great resource for anyone with questions regarding tolkien's works.

Good advice for we die-hards, Belheru. ;) I've been watching this particular site since its inception. The quality of Tolkien-related posts is amazing.
