...Whell, i downloaded it, installed it and played a bit, but so far i'm not convinced
- landscape is very barren, alsmost like taking a trip back to 1942
- several crashed to main-menu/desktop cause of error "lost connection to stat server"
- very high (unplayable) pings even on servers hosted here in NL, and highest ping visible in playermenu is 45
- I hate the weapons (i cannot hit a barndoor even if would be standing 2 feet away from it, could be ping issue)
- Walker units are fun (if your in them) but not up against them, too overpowered
- Titan mode is funny, but basically when shields are down it's a spawncamp free-for-all
i think i'll wait a bit longer for ET, in the mean time i'll lock and load my G36K anf hop back into the pilotseat

The server crashes are pretty common, managed to get on hour on last night with no crashes.
Its a bit too frantic, what i mean is that everyone is going from silo to silo capturing it to fire a rocket at the enemy titan. I think people dont realise that it takes two minutes to fire the rocket so its best to defend each silo for a while and then move on. It seems to be forcing squads and teamwork, its impossible if you want to go solo.
Game reminds me of BFV, when BFV came out after BF1942 the menus and the weapons seemed a bit cartoony and rushed compared to 1942, thats how BF2142 feels to me.
The pings are crap, the close quaters action on the titan is impossible, cant hit anything.

How the hell do you blow up an entire PC? I can understand frying a MOBO or CPU or crashing a HD, but a whole PC??? Could you just do a temp repair? (would you get a BF2 repair point for this - it would be easier than getting one in-game).

I'm not sure what everyone has against 2142. I downloaded the demo AND IT LOOKS AWSOME! Sure it crashes every now and again, but ever since 1.3 BF2 has been doing that anyway.
The ground vehicles are fun, the mechs are cool (AND destroyable, if you play your cards right), and the air transports are stinkin' awsome.
The guns are inaccurate because all you're using is the base set for every kit. As you play in the real game you get unlocks like new weapons (two new ones for every kit, I believe) and upgrades (nades, 4x zoom for the sniper, extra sidearm rounds, that kind of thing).
The Titan mode is fine while shields are up, and when they go down it can be really good...or really bad. Bad if, as you said, it turns into a spawncampfest, but good if you get squads working together to cover hallways, transport choppers being landed on the Titan for spawn points, and then summarily dumped off by the other team, and squad leaders slinking into a corner to act as a spawn point for his attacking sqaud.
Add to that the addition of the in depth ranking system and squad leader and member bonuses, and you got one heck-of-a game. I've never noticed any ping issues, and my game has been running fine from the beginning.
In my opinion, EA has only made improvements on Battlefield, and I CAN'T WAIT 'TILL WEDNESDAY!

So the justification for crashes in a new game is that an old game from the same company also features this same major flaw? Does that not seem a little bit odd to you? Most of us here refuse to play 2142 because of BF2 1.3 and the subsequent 4 month wait for any fix. What fool would fund a company with such moronic practises?

Pretty much like any other online FPS in existance then. Fun if every one is working as a team to military standards, crap if they're not.
2142 may be fun, it may not. But I swore I wouldn't buy another Battlefield game after what they did with 1.3 and I'm gonna stick to it. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars all the way.
